It insists on itself. I thought it was fairly decent, but it felt they were doing complex chord progressions for the sake of proving they could execute those progressions. Overly complicated without a melody for the listener to catch on to. Subjective, not for me.

The epitome of Krautrock: German psychedelic/ambient rock

Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Jan 08 2026

Ace of Spades is the greatest example of Motorhead's style. Fast drums, distorted guitar solos, and rusty vocals. Some of the beginning sounds that later influenced the creation of metal.

This album better exemplifies, more so than any other, the POWER that James Brown had when he held that mic in his hand. His interaction with the crowd is unique. They are literally shrieking at eachother.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jan 13 2026

Okay. It's a musically interesting album. Feels like Davis just took a few (very talented) studio musicians and improvised. There is an underlying consistent movement that is played throughout the album. But, the album is only 2 15ish minute songs. The underlying movement doesn't go anywhere. It's just the 1 for the entire song. Repeated. Over and over. The musicians improvise a few embellishments into repeated melodies. It's good, and shows off their individual talents, but there is little cohesion. It's not a masterpiece.

Silly 90s rap. It's pretty clever, but also raunchy.

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Jan 23 2026

Pretty good, this album is their 3rd, and their first step form the avant garde distorted sound baths into mainstream rock punk. It defined the genre, and it's good, but some of their later albums are better.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jan 26 2026
Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Jan 30 2026

Good album. Good example of the sound of the British Invasion of the 1960's, which of course was pioneered by the Beatles. Many of the songs are in the key, structure, and tempo of other early rock songs in the era. The most lasting and recognizable track is "I'm not your stepping stone".

Sunday At The Village Vanguard by Bill Evans Trio
Feb 03 2026

Great individual talent exhibition, however, no cohesion amongst the artists. This is the jazz music people point to when they say it sounds like random notes.

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Feb 04 2026

Pretty good, never heard of them before. Kinda distorted avant garde, good to run to.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Aug 17 2026

Wasn't old enough to fall under this pedo's spell. I don't think its unreasonable to be unable to separate the art from the artist, when that artist molested children.
