Popular Reviews

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones

Messy and never perfect. The way blues based rock and roll should be. Aside from White Album, best double album in rock history

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
May 15 2024

Nah, it sits there and bores me. In a Silent Way blows it away

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
May 27 2024

Pink Moon is too much for me albeit it is Great. So this is one for me

Aja by Steely Dan
Jul 19 2024

listen to AB or some other Great pressing. It deserves its praise

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Aug 14 2024

I never warmed to this. Last 3 are nothing to me

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Oct 03 2024

Side 4 is boring ballads. Some other duds. But this is 1990. Like it or not

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Nov 01 2024

I love this thing. Cocaine anger never came across so good

Roxy Music by Roxy Music
Nov 21 2024

Sea breezes and the Bob are boring prog. Production is awful. Still squeezes out a brilliant first half and a great last 2

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Dec 18 2024

Docked because of last track

Purple Rain by Prince
Dec 24 2024

Can’t find a fault here

Like A Prayer by Madonna
Dec 25 2024

Like a prayer the song is a stunner. And all the other singles work great. But non singles including duet with Prince are mediocre to bad. Glad she tried though

Different Class by Pulp
Jan 01 2025

Even album tracks are mostly great. Parklife aside. THIS IS BEST IN BRITPOP

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jan 07 2025

Some is too simple (sugar spun sister) but the highs (I wanna be adored, I am the resurrection, this is the one) make this the classic it is

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Jan 29 2025

Like speaking to someone who is high but really is speaking truth. Just hard to get figure out where they are initially

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Feb 19 2025

Get behind me sucks. Most of the rest is great. Old man never left

Paris 1919 by John Cale
Feb 25 2025

Not the masterpiece it has the reputation as but still damn solid.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Mar 06 2025

Incredibly flawed in the first half (long promised road aside). Second half hits all the depressing highs.

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Mar 19 2025

Return to this more than Closer. So it has to be their best for me

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Apr 09 2025

Messy and never perfect. The way blues based rock and roll should be. Aside from White Album, best double album in rock history

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Apr 29 2025
Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 12 2025
Damaged by Black Flag
Jul 17 2025
Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 23 2025
Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Jul 24 2025
Jul 28 2025

Sometimes funny, sometimes groovy, always nasty and mean (in a good way). Not going to return to it, but its reputation is valid. Funny enough, collabs with PE folk are weak tracks.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Jul 29 2025

Has good elements to it. But it lacks the humor and melody of early 10cc, the popcrsft of Roxy Music, and the muscle of King Crimson. More Yes than those bands, not a positive for me

Behaviour by Pet Shop Boys
Jul 30 2025

Have always liked this album. “Being Boring” and “Jealousy” make a nice bookend of slower songs. Yet it’s the faster paced songs “How Can You…” and “So Hard” that show more that PSB wit. The rest is ‘fine’ to mediocre though, and creates too much ennui. Prefer the album before (“Introspective”) and after (“Very”).

Jul 31 2025

Positive: great sounding album. Creates a vibe like making an album late night on good substances with your buds Negative: at best pleasant, and at worst boring. not an album I would return to. If Crosby’s name wasn’t attached it would be a curio from the period with a small cult

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Aug 06 2025

Standard stuff. Couple of a good numbers but no better than most stuff you here in any bar in town

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Aug 08 2025

Solid soul album.

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
Aug 19 2025

Ok album a couple really good tracks (Single, Flipside). But other than Tracey Thorn’s soothing vocals, there is much here that would distinguish this from similar late 90s electro pop
