1001 Albums Summary

Notes: Album has that typical 2000s teen rebellious feeling to it if that's what you're into. Some good tracks with the lows and mids overwhelming the highs. The lead singer seems to forget at times that he doesn't need to sound awful whiny while the band is fairly consistent through the album. Not terrible but would not go out of my way to hear this album again. Highlights: Fell in love with a Girl, The same boy you've always known, We're going to be Friends Lowlights: I think I smell a rat, Aluminum (teeth hurtin music), This Protector.

I've never understood the hype behind Prince but after 2 listens through this album I appreciate him more.

This truly was a collection of songs.

I’m not going to say I understand the influence of this album but I did enjoy listening to this more than I expected.

Would probably need to listen again to get a clearer understanding of the album but enjoyed the music.

This album started very strong for me and fell off towards the end. Maybe I need to listen to this on Halloween or a full moon.

What an impressive debut album. This has some of their classics that I already knew and some more songs that I quite enjoyed. No skips. Perfect length for an album.

Not an unenjoyable listen but seemed to be pretty basic. I can't speak towards the impact that this album had on rap as I wasn't alive when it came out.

I have only ever heard "What's Love Got to Do With It" before today and it is safe to say I have been missing out! Clearly a very 80's album but I don't see anything wrong with that. Loved that Tina's voice was the main platter served and not the background instrumentals. Would listen again and would buy this album.

Anything by Kanye falls in the rate the art not the artist category for me. That being said, I quite enjoy this album.
