1001 Albums Summary

Day 1 of #1001#albumgenerator being the third album release by Van Morrison widely regarded as his best. A subtle move away from folk jazz I must admit I enjoyed my first play of this 1970 album for probably thirty years and found it more accessible than previous plays. The title track is something of beauty. I have listened on CD for this recording and overall I think a 3 out of 5 from me.

New wave at its best. I thought I was back in 1978 again. Great album and good to hear it again.

Loved this album on release as it mixes rock with jazz and krautrock .Its a complete move away from the sound of the 3 previous albums. A fab album and a nice return for me having not played for a number of years.

An influential album the bridges jazz, rock and electronica. A hypnotic recording with some wicked funk rhythms. The start of something major for me.

Not heard this before as not a fan. Did'nt enjoy much to be honest so low rating from me.

Remember listening to this album around 1982 on the bounce from the punk/new wave movement and found this a refreshing listen. Not so sure this time but an ok listen to be fair.

A popular folk rock album from 1972 which includes the classic title track. This one passed me by in 1972 and again a relisten in 2026 did little to change my opinion.

I am a huge Joni fan but find this album a difficult listen. Stripped back and stark i prefer Hissing Of Summer Lawns and Hejira.

Lennon's finest solo album and it did'nt change my opinion on listening again after probably 10 years. Classic songs with classic arrangements.
