Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jan 20 2026

I've never really listened to musch jazz, or Bosa Nova in particular, so this album was very new to me. It kept my attention, and was interesting musically. For me to think that as a rock/metal fan must mean it's pretty good.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jan 21 2026

Old timey music is very much not my forte. But there were some cool moments with nice piano playing.

Smash by The Offspring
Jan 22 2026

One of the greats of the pop punk genre. For what it is, it doesn't get much better than this.

Jan 23 2026

I’m trying to rate these albums in the context of the style and time in which they appear. Beatles albums are never going to top my personal lists, but I do thoroughly enjoy this one. Everyone should hear it.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jan 26 2026

Some Stones fans will take this as blasphemy, but this was just ok generic blues rock. Better stuff came later in the Stones career. But I guess this may have seemed more groundbreaking at the time. There are a few bangers here.

Dookie by Green Day
Jan 27 2026

Good album, a seminal pop punk release. Personally I prefer American Idiot.

Slayed? by Slade
Jan 28 2026

Good solid glam rock. Better than I thought.

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Jan 29 2026

Weird quirky album but I like it. Fans of both post punk and psych rock will enjoy

Timeless by Goldie
Jan 30 2026

Got 15 minutes in and gave up. Not my jam.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Feb 02 2026

Would be good movie music, it’s cinematic and evokes a feeling, but I didn’t enjoy it as an album listening experience.

B-52's by The B-52's
Feb 03 2026

Surprisingly good. I only knew Love Shack but this was kinda fun.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Feb 04 2026

One of the funkiest rock albums in my collection, good stuff.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Feb 09 2026

Boring. Couldn't get through it.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Feb 10 2026

Some absolute bangers on here, but also some filler.

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Feb 11 2026

It's ok but not my jam.

The Next Day by David Bowie
Feb 12 2026

Pleasently surprised. I had listened to 2002's Heathen and was a bit bored by it, but this is good latter day Bowie

Damaged by Black Flag
Feb 19 2026
Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Feb 20 2026
Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Feb 25 2026
Heroes by David Bowie
Feb 26 2026

Some bangers, but some of the ambient stuff doesn't do it for me.

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Mar 04 2026

I generally don't care for electronic music, and I'm not going to go out and buy this, but for what it is it was pretty dang cool!
