Not too long for a single sitting. Good, and a hip-hop classic but found it overwhelming in the end.

Stuart Maconie said "You can here where he gives up half way through side 4..." And he's absolutely right. 3.5 sides of masterpieces and then trash. Side r open with As and I suggest that's where you stop listening.

Teenage folk classic. More than a few memories of youth group parties attached to these songs

LCD Soundsystem are always amazing.

I didn't get the Mekons at the time and now, listening with a more mature ear, I still don't. Seems like The Emperor's New Clothes to me.

Some great songs but has not fared well with the passage of time.

Saw them headline the NME stage at V Festival on promoting this album. It was interesting and I bought the album on the back of it but it was about the shortest headline set I've ever seen. They only had this album to draw on. The album is mid with Molly's Chamber being a stand out.

What was once revolutionary now sounds like a poor collection of blues covers.

Era defining hip-hop.

I thought this was an awful "jazz lite" record in 1984... It is. Suffered it in a million student flats and it is just banal.

5 stars if you're 15, but only 2 if you're over 16
