A band that has always made me feel slightly nauseous, and apparently still do.
"Let's go away for awhile" was okay.
Not something I'd usually listen to, but did enjoy it. Also liked the instrumental/remix versions on disc 2.
(Much better than the Beach Boys for sure.)
Not my cup of tea. Not entirely objectionable (like the Beach Boys) but no memorable tunes, not one I'll be putting on in future.

I adore this album! From the heartbreak of "I never loved a man (the way that I love you" and "Drown in my own tears" to the strength of "Respect" and "Do right woman, do right man", and the hope of "A change is gonna come". What a voice. Not the first time I've listened to this album, but the first time I've listened properly.
Blast from the past! Waterfalls is of course fantastic, and Sumthin' Wicked This Way Comes is an excellent ending track. Also enjoyed the little interlude tracks (something you miss out on when you're listening to Spotify playlists and not a full album).
Even putting aside my moral objections to Elvis as a person, this album was dull and repetitive.

Think I enjoyed this. Probably would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't attempting to crochet a wee Jimothy raccoon at the same time and had to restart several times because his little ears keep going wonky and I DON'T KNOW WHY.
"If I Can't Change Your Mind" is a bop.
The other day I heard on the radio that injecting sulfuric acid into the atmosphere could help reduce global warming. I was meaning to look up more about it as it seems like a risky move that could have some bad consequences. Anyway, the song Sulfur reminded me of this so that was useful.

Hadn't heard of Kacey Musgraves before, and took a couple of listens to really get into. But I enjoyed it! Especially "Butterflies".

Love this album - used to listen to it a lot as a teenager. The opening chords of "Can't Stand Me Now" are such a good start to an album - one to rival Pixies' Bossanova opener, "Cecilia Ann".

Nick Cave always reminds me of my mum when she lived in her little flat and would listen to Nick Cave a lot. So he in turn ends up reminding me of mushroom risotto. Excessive amounts of mushroom risotto.
But I like this album. And it also reminded me I still haven't checked out the TV adaption of the Death of Bunny Munro. Didn't think much of the book when I read it, but perhaps it's one of the rare ones where the screen adaption is actually better. Like Stephen King. Terribly books, but they make excellent movies.

Hadn't heard of Elliott Smith before, so nice to listen to something new to me.
Had to listen a couple of times to get into it, but second time really enjoyed it.
I saw Alice Cooper's hot sauce in the Spice Shop in Brighton. But it didn't sound very interesting, so instead I got a tequila, jalapeño and cactus one which was AMAZING. Unfortunately, now I've run out, so I'll need to make another pilgrimage to Brighton soon.
Anyways, Alice Cooper's music sounds better than his hot sauce. Maybe he should stick to that.
There are many reasons to dislike Morrissey. His irritating voice is just one of them.
After yesterday's Smiths album, I was hoping for someone a bit less problematic than Morrissey today.
Alas, here we are.
At least he has a less annoying voice than Morrissey.

That aside, this album was great! Gotta love a band that knows the value of a song under 3 minutes long.

I didn't hate this, however I don't think I'd make an active choice to listen to it again.
But if my partner decided on this for our dinner party background music, I wouldn't object.
For some reason I had completely written Steely Dan off in my head. Maybe it's a reference I'd heard somewhere affecting my view, maybe it's just the name.
But this was not bad really.
Maybe it helped that I was in particularly good company when listening to it though...
Think I might need to listen to this a couple more times to have a full opinion. Can't actually remember one individual song.
But I don't object to listening to it again. So even if it does all merge into one song, it merges into one I enjoy.
As much as I thought country music is not for me, this actually made for a quite chill cataloguing soundtrack today.
And his version of Unchained Melody is WAY more listenable than Elvis Presley's.
Never listened to much Dolly Parton before, but loved this album. Wildflowers in particular is a great song.
The "squelchy" noises in Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt 2 do something to my brain and make me feel uncomfortable.
Other than that, this is a great album.

Objectively a great album. But unfortunately reminds me too much of 1st year of university and gives my brain the panic feeling, so won't be listening again...
One song on this album is almost 15 minutes long. FIFTEEN MINUTES.
I'm pretty sure that's longer than the Teen Idles' entire discography.
Anyways, I think country music still isn't for me, but (excessive length aside) some of the songs on this album were quite nice.
