Popular Reviews

Roots by Sepultura

I'm not a big fan of metal, but this album was such a delight. I am Mexican, and as an artist, It's been hard for me to acknowldege my heritage in my artwork, this was a huge masterclass on how to do it. The samba rythms in Breed apart are genius, the sound design of the album generally speaking, is brutal, and the concept is so well developed. A five star to me.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits

It's theatrical, cinematographic. It narrates trough music a unique space and time in the universe, then fills it with colorful images that enrich the tale delivering a beautiful story. I've always liked this kind of european folk, but for this album it goes beyond just taste. It's a piece of art to me.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Jul 20 2026

What a trip. I'd heard the name of Neil Young before, though, I'd never listened to his music. And this was such an interesting slow burn clash for me. At first I wasn't so much attracted by the calm, mature, melancholic, "countryish" acoustic atmosphere, even when I enjoyed the melodies, specially in "My my, Hey hey". But then, After listening the full album, something made sense. Then, by listening carefully, and genuinely appreciating every element, including the lyrics, it hit me hard.

Low by David Bowie
Jul 21 2026

Interesting. I can't deny that in terms of sound and atmosphere It is captivating, nevertheless I think It's a little lifeless in terms of emotion, and even when experimental It's kind of academic. Not the best of Bowie, but important.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jul 22 2026

Relaxed, ironic and reflexive. I understand now why they call him 'the voice' of that generation. Even tho it's not really my sound, I like his lyrics and the way he is 'publically intimate'

Debut by Björk
Jul 23 2026

Unique. Like a breath of fresh air. It's a deep intimate long conversation with her and her collaborators at 3 am drinking in a club in New York. It's amazing.

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Jul 24 2026

I love it! It's all about movement, It's life itself. It's harmoniuous, delicious, rich and varied. It's being in the ocean, hearing and seeing the waves of sound. Marvelous.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jul 25 2026

As I generally enjoy The Doors' sound, I enjoyed this album as well. Even if I didn't feel to connect as much with it as I did with others, I still liked the particular sound choices and the vibe in this.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Jul 26 2026

I can only image the amount o music projects that have fed from this album, and yet I can name a bunch of them that immediately came to my mind immediately after listening to the firs two songs. I liked this album so much. I'd never heard of T.REX before, but my first impression on this was immediate. I loved the slow yet light cadency of cosmic dancer, emotional and yet not melancholic. The funk of mambo sun and Bang a Gong, the intimacy in girl' and the general sound of the album, so outstanding. I enjoyed this discovery so much.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jul 28 2026

It's so strangre how I had never truly listened to this album before, though Starway to heaven was one of my favorite songs during my adolescence, and I used to lidten to Black Dog every 2 seconds due to my cousin who was in a band and rehearsed and played it above any other song. Now that I gave myself the oppontunity to actually listen, I found so many interesting elements to it, and I find it even more interesting.

California by American Music Club
Jul 29 2026

To me, California was one of those albums you know you like from the first three seconds of listening, and maybe from the cover too. Simple, soft and sweet. It reminds me of life. My life.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jul 30 2026

One of my first favorite albums. I still remember asking my brother what was the name of the song so many times. It was Laika. My first favorite song ever. So it was not such a deal to listen to it or even rate it. The problem begins when trying to listen to it in detail. I still think it's good tho.

Murmur by R.E.M.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Aug 02 2026

Frank is the sound of New York in the early 00's. Greyish, blue modern and promising NY. It's an obvious but homogeneic mix of Blues, reggae, jazz, hip-hop, Baker and Holliday, all in an interesting format of a live concert at a 'midnight dinner club'. The saddest part was to read at the end of the review on my boook, edition from 2006, how they writer hoped Amy a longer life than her Idols.

A Date With The Everly Brothers by The Everly Brothers
Aug 06 2026

Sigh, cry, almost die... a melody to die for. Such an excellent album, signature for the romantic, honeyed sound of the 60's.

More Specials by The Specials
Aug 07 2026

A strident but cool collage of sounds. I don't like ska, and can yet tell this album's got something. Men at C&A's atmosphere is so ahead of its own time. Sounds like the 2010's. So strange and fun.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Aug 08 2026

I spent so much years liking Sultans of swing so much without even really acknowledging who played it that for sure I had never listened to the full album. And well, it's definitely not a surprise that's good.
