Abbey Road by Beatles
Aug 03 2026

it’s fucking abbey road like what am i supposed to say. i love to hate the beatles and hate to love them. thank god they stopped after this. listened to a very high quality version of the super deluxe so that was a treat favorites are i want you (she’s so heavy) and mr. mustard/polythene pam honorable mentions octopus garden lol and the entire weirdness of the back half

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Aug 04 2026

this and zeppelin iv were in the first stack of albums my mom gave me when i was a kid rock music just isn’t as horny as it used to be. i love the absolute grime all over this record favs: what is and what never should be, bring it on home, heartbreaker solo honorable mention: lemon song there should be way more songs about handjobs the only other one i can think of is caress me down by sublime

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Aug 05 2026

masterpiece. tight sub 30 min. no skips. bechdel test hard fail. whatever idc i must confess that jolene is the only dolly album i've listened to top to bottom before this(unless you count trio, i really hope that is on this list) . i listened to coat of many colors a few times through during my shift today and each time was a delight i was shocked by how much absolute sauce the rhythm section is putting on this. 90% of the time i dig those melodic leading basslines though i feel like the bass in the full band moments can get distracting & lose balance. there’s a bit of delightful psychedelic flavor in the rockier tunes that i wasn’t expecting. here i am feels like it could’ve been a janis song. she has the range! & for a studio backing band these guys really know how to play with dolly’s voice and lyricism i love songs that tell stories and that’s what dolly weaves these narratives so well into her songwriting - title track & traveling man favorites : early morning breeze !!! and my blue tears

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Aug 06 2026

too tired to condense notes into a review so buckle up here are my stream of consciousness listening notes re: cosmic dancer strings and dueling backwards guitars???? so corny & so good this is my favorite JEEPSTER slaps . am i hearing tap shoes lyrics don’t need to mean anything if what you’re saying sounds cool enough i read someones review on here that said marc bolan is like if bowie read less books . or maybe it’s the other way around and bowie is a well read bolan either way i agree just like a car…. you’re built like a car…. cadillac king dancer in the midnight……. life’s a GAS ??? hmmm . ok i really wanna watch rocky horror on vhs when i get home does anyone wanna come watch it with me this album is cool without taking itself seriously, so horny without being cringe there’s so much repressed filthiness lurking in the sound. very understated , many small tasty moments that u will miss unless you’re really leaning in i think i really appreciate classic rock more since i started taking testosterone rest in peace marc bolan you would have loved crash (1996)

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Aug 07 2026

more enjoyable to approach this album more as performed poetry than capital M Music. but yeah it’s just words and guitar let him cook master song is my favorite i was captivated by its dark imagery and trying to interpret what the relationship it was based on looked like familiar with many of these songs but never listened to the album top to bottom , hypnotic and meditative when you let yourself fall into it . first listened with my partner last night and we were just sitting outside smoking cigarettes and staring off into space. and the air was quiet and still . we would look at each other after a song would end and be like what do you think that song was about. and that was perfect to me hey that’s no way to say goodbye <3 , i can’t really find the words to explain it but leonard cohen is like david lynch to me, i think it’s the subtle uncanniness in the way they depict parts of the human experience. and i have the same reverence for the art that both made even though i won’t pretend to understand all of it bread and egg

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Aug 10 2026

same as it ever was 🙂‍↕️ i’m trying to be stingier with how much i give out 5 stars but the almighty generator just keeps giving us perfect albums … recently went down a fela kuti/afrobeat rabbit hole so this was fun to revisit with the added context that eno and byrne & co were heavily influenced by fela when working on this record , thank you @joesama for that favorites: the great curve & houses in motion egg and scallion pancake

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Aug 11 2026

god i wish i still liked smoking weed. perfect album to put on when you’re wizard high and get so scared lost me a bit in the b side, good blues rock but i wish it were as heavy and spooky as the first 3 tracks fav: the wizard . who gave ozzy that harmonica egg rice with @chilifrog chili crisp from 2024
