A funky and clever album from a great artist. Begins with some great hits before heading towards long and impressive but slightly less easy to listen to songs. I became less engaged as the album continued.

Very palatable with some fun riffs. Good mix of songs, good composition of instruments.

Fun and funky. Almost always interesting and engaging. Long songs didn’t hurt the album.

Musically sound. Just couldn’t bring myself to enjoy his voice.

Peculiar. Not my style.

Surprisingly enjoyable. Loved the variety of instruments.

The title track is a classic. It’s still metal though… even after a mere 36 minutes I was struggling.

Really enjoyed it. Great mix of genres and a legendary voice.

First off, Bono is a legend. The first 3 tracks really evoke an emotion and feel very relatable, something that is often the sign of a great album. However I didn’t enjoy every track and felt the themes of the songs were all very similar so it pains me to give The Joshua Tree only 4 stars, a rating that doesn’t really feel quite representative of an amazing album. Definitely towards a 5 but it wasn’t quite enough for me.

The second best album from an iconic band. So close to 5 stars

Very average. Some good. Some bad.

Great storyteller. Great voice. Great band. The crowd was maybe a little enthusiastic but that’s not the fault of “the King”.

Legend. We need more of this music in the modern world. Too much of the same to give this 5 stars but all in all a great album.

I had never heard of them and I was very sceptical. However… I was definitely humbled when it turned out to be a real gem of an album and a really enjoyable listen.

I expected it to be better than it was but I still really enjoyed select songs and it’s obviously a clever album. And so on and so on and scooby dooby dooby.

Mark Ronson is a genius. She has a great voice and vibe. One of the best albums I have heard. Every track is a hit.

The Rolling Stones are one of those bands who are extremely famous but I have never gotten around to listening to their music. Although it is just one album, Sticky Fingers gives me relief in knowing that I wasn’t missing out.

A nice amount of experimental

Quickly zoned out. Psychedelic country doesn’t work.

Very interesting. I didn’t like it but I found it clever so I can’t say it was bad.

Surprised by the album to be honest. Not a fan of the vocals but despite that, I thought it was a very fun and funky album that I quite enjoyed.

Icon. Legend. One of the best jazz singers of all time, with an album to match.

I’m not a big fan of electronic music so that didn’t help. These songs were also all twice as long as they needed to be. I often started a song believing that it sounded interesting but then it would just drag on forever…

For a rock album it was alright to be fair. The vocals were pretty awful at times though.

My second Prince album. This was better than the last one. Defo some hits on here and he’s a genius. A mad one but still a genius.

After the first few songs, this album had a 5-star review written all over it. Then I realised the songs all became the same thing and nothing really stood out after that. An album that got gradually worse, and an album that never got the strong closing song that it deserved. I’m still giving it 4 stars because of the obvious hits, but they definitely carried the album to that rating.

Boring, fine, nothing special.

Really quite a good album. The style of vocals unfortunately spoiled it at times and ended up making this a 3 but the core of the album was really enjoyable.

Not my kind of music at all. However there were some very fun and clever songs and the album was pretty palatable. I’m also a sucker for a good last song and this album provided that.

Listening to Aretha just makes you feel happy

Some great keys lines, talented songwriting and a classic voice, all topped off with a beautiful Aretha Franklin cover.

Some really boring and repetitive stuff with awful vocals. Rather than revolutionary, it just felt… different.

I love good jazz and I’m also really enjoying Bossa Nova at the moment so this album was perfect. I felt like I was on the beaches in Brazil and in a downtown New York jazz club at the same time. I’ve never been to those places in my life but I definitely enjoyed them. Unfortunately this album couldn’t keep the same intrigue and standard throughout however, so I couldn’t give it 5 stars.

I don’t like rap. I tried.

I was enjoying it more than I expected, but then every song felt like the same thing. Apparently metal can become background music.

I’d heard of Steely Dan but I didn’t know what the music was like. I really enjoyed it. Only a couple of songs let me down and it had some fun keys, brass and guitar lines

Fine. Not my style

Wow. I mean I don’t like rap but that was some display of emotion. Extremely controversial but very clever. Marshall Mathers is truly something different.

Most of it is fine. Some of it is pretty weird

I never give enough credit to this type of music. That’s usually because the tracks are all very similar throughout but this album had a pleasing amount of variety.

Not one of Radiohead’s better albums. Still experimental and clever but not quite pleasing on the ear.

An album full of hits that I really loved. However, a lot of songs were very similar and that stopped this from being a 5.

Really quite contrasting. You could tell that they hadn’t quite figured out their sound yet. Some brilliant moments and some less brilliant ones.

I don’t know what I expected but it wasn’t this. Really not an enjoyable album.

I still don’t like electronic/dance music. The final track was the best because it didn’t fit into that category but it wasn’t a great song. I don’t really know what to say. It made me feel sad. And I’m pretty sure that’s not the purpose of this kind of music.

Such an amazing album. You can’t fault it. Plus he played the majority of the instruments on the album. And can we all just remind ourselves that this guy is blind…
