1001 Albums Summary

A funky and clever album from a great artist. Begins with some great hits before heading towards long and impressive but slightly less easy to listen to songs. I became less engaged as the album continued.

Very palatable with some fun riffs. Good mix of songs, good composition of instruments.

Fun and funky. Almost always interesting and engaging. Long songs didn’t hurt the album.

Musically sound. Just couldn’t bring myself to enjoy his voice.

Peculiar. Not my style.

The title track is a classic. It’s still metal though… even after a mere 36 minutes I was struggling.

Really enjoyed it. Great mix of genres and a legendary voice.

First off, Bono is a legend. The first 3 tracks really evoke an emotion and feel very relatable, something that is often the sign of a great album. However I didn’t enjoy every track and felt the themes of the songs were all very similar so it pains me to give The Joshua Tree only 4 stars, a rating that doesn’t really feel quite representative of an amazing album. Definitely towards a 5 but it wasn’t quite enough for me.

The best album from an iconic band. Enough said.

Very average. Some good. Some bad.

Great storyteller. Great voice. Great band. The crowd was maybe a little enthusiastic but that’s not the fault of “the King”.

Legend. We need more of this music in the modern world. Too much of the same to give this 5 stars but all in all a great album.

I had never heard of them and I was very sceptical. However… I was definitely humbled when it turned out to be a real gem of an album and a really enjoyable listen.

I expected it to be better than it was but I still really enjoyed select songs and it’s obviously a clever album. And so on and so on and scooby dooby dooby.

I have never heard anything like this in my life…

Mark Ronson is a genius. She has a great voice and vibe. One of the best albums I have heard. Every track is a hit.

The Rolling Stones are one of those bands who are extremely famous but I have never gotten around to listening to their music. Although it is just one album, Sticky Fingers gives me relief in knowing that I wasn’t missing out.
