Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Sep 22 2026

First Listen - They are good at what they did but the songs felt a bit similar. It's an album, it is supposed to sound a bit similar; but I think they overdid a Touch Too Much. Every song sounds like a variation of the last one to the point were it's not bad. It's just a bit frustrating because I wish the songs sounded a bit more different. It is still a very good album. Second listen - It is only the baselines and the drums that are similar, they are very similar but it is only the baselines and drums. I actually like how the album progresses and in Auf Chase (which is no where near my favorite song on this album) they use a keyboard for only that song. I really like how the Album is not first half carried and is good throughout. I really like that they threw in Michael randomly because of how different it sounds. Still a bit too similar for my liking though. Highlights - Take me out, Jacqueline, The Dark of the Matinee, and Michael. I will end up listening to this album every once in a while. 4 stars P.S. My first of 1001 albums!

The Bends by Radiohead
Sep 23 2026

1st Listen - It is very cinematic, ambient, and sometimes even industrial. The album is very sad, melancholy, and sometimes angry. It's very dissonant and only uses a higher distortion in the choruses. The album is very good throughout and is not first half carried and I even think it represents a journey of some sort. Every song is different just enough. 2nd listen - There are a few riffs throughout every song and each riff is different from each other and fits each song perfectly. I like the chorus singing chords in the chorus because I supports the main vocals very well. I love how the drums create an awesome buildup in some songs because of how well it fits with the chorus. The verses are very cool as well with the awesome acoustic guitar that has really good melodies that complement the vocals so well. Highlights - Fake Plastic Trees, Just, and Black Star Honorable mentions - (Nice Dream) and My Iron Lung 4.5/5 stars

Is This It by The Strokes

This was fun to listen to, not much to say except that I don't like the vocal filter. 7/10

I love this and hate it at the same time. I'm coming to Kim as I'm writing and I've listened to it a time separate from this so I know how terrible it is. Cannot get past how offensive these lyrics are. They are offensive, inappropriate, homophobic, and misogynist. I am not fond of how he talks about killing and beating his wife. He even talks about rape a few times. I tried so hard not to like the album but I cannot help but tap my foot to it, which obviously means that this is a great album. I think that he gets how sad he was at the time because when I listen to ts, I feel deep in depression. no highlights because I can't bear to. 7/10 cuz I can't bear to give a rating any higher. P.S. Eminem is still a bully white boy who can't get get bullied for race or gender very easily.

Imagine by John Lennon
Sep 26 2026

Don't have much to say except that I think I don't wanna be a soldier mama had elements of or partially inspired industrial music. Very generic Highlight - Imagine No honorable mentions 3/10 stars

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Sep 27 2026

I was doing other things while listening to this and I did not even realize that the song changed. It does what it does well: chill background music for while your doing things. I would not say elevator music because I think it's too good for that. Elevator music is usually low quality, this is not low quality. I think it's the perfect album to put on as background noise. Not into this type of music but if it does what it does perfectly than it's five stars. Nitpicking here, I hate the reused assets of The Girl from Ipanema and Corcavado. No highlight or runner ups cuz it's background music 9/10 Stars

The first song is literally just noise with I WANT TO DIE being screamed over and over again. Religion is something, I am Atheist and I can speak for myself that Religion does not speak for all of us, I like to stay open minded with other peoples' religions. This feels like he is just screaming that all religions suck no matter what. Singer would have been great as backup vocals for Suicidal Tendencies. Somehow drums are the only enjoyable part so far. Im not going to listen to the bonus track bro. The shorter the song on this album, the better, the faster I get it done. Songs are generic at best and loud, nonsensical noise at worst. Highlight - Attack 1/5 stars

Parachutes by Coldplay
Sep 29 2026

Very generic. I've heard so many bands do this exact type of thing. I guess impressive vocal range. I don't even think what it does does it well, it's the slightest bit above average at best. at worst, it's generic garbage. The instrumental choruses are the best (they're okay) parts. wanted the album to end since Sparks. All the songs are like the exact same. Highlight - Don't Panic because it was an actually original song un-like the rest of the song which are just Shiver 8 more times. 3/10 (giving it 2/5 so people don't hate me)
