It's a brilliant album Sure Kanye is a fucking nut case and the blatant misogyny is all over this album but I have to give him his due it a masterclass in breaking Hip-hop norm

WOW, what a fantastic album. Classic 60s sound with song like their cover of Mr. Tambourine Man and All I Really Want to Do, to a heavy song with It's No Use and the downtrodden I knew I'd Want You. This is front to back great.

A sonic treat to the ears... there is so much going on at any point of this mostly instrumental album that it is hard to unpack on a single listen.

Regardless on you personal feelings about Metallica, this is a very good collaboration. Kamen shows great enthusiasm for metal and Metallica shows great respect for classical. There are a few duds from the Load/Reload era but the the highs from the 80s and early 90s are VERY high, and the original song No Leaf Clover is the best new song they would put out for a decade. Oh and the opening song The Ecstasy of Gold is perfection.

The stand out song by far is Street Life. While the instrumentals of the rest of the albums are a strong mix of Jazz and Funk, the soulful voice truly brings completion to the title track.
