Want One by Rufus Wainwright

Was so good really enjoyed 8/10

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley

It is a beautiful album. Reminds me of christmas' gone by. beautiful love songs about places the singer misses and remonises about. Nice and slow could imagine slow dancing too it with a significant other. Richard has a great voice and i have learnt that he has played and is friends with frontman of pulp, Jarvis Cocker, that alone adds one extra rating. So many styles in this accoustic album got some country, some singer songwriter but all of it is great and as Alex Turner said when this lost an award 'someone call 999, Richard Halway has been robbed'. 10/10 enjoyed it all the way through it enticed me i could not stop listening.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Dec 30 2022

very enjoyable haven't listened to any og his stuf before

Back In Black by AC/DC
Dec 31 2022

I've heard the song Back In Black but never heard the whole album. The opening song 'Hells Bells' (Thinking of Ally McCoist here) is a great introduction to this album. This is overall a great album of the metal and rock genres.9/10

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Jan 01 2023

I'm certainly on a Highway To Hell. A Classic Rock album that i love and that love is still strong after another listen. 9/10

Kenya by Machito
Jan 02 2023

Not really my taste but I enjoyed it

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Jan 05 2023

Primal Scream have such a unique sound and its very previlent in this album. All the songs just flow nicely from one to the other, not even realising its a new song. Making it a great experiance though not as good as 'Screamadelica'. (8-9/10)

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Jan 07 2023

I used to love 'Clint Eastwood' growing up, many a memory around that song. Damon Albarn has got to be one of the greatest artists of the 90's and beyond, two best bands of their areas and of their time, brilliant solo artist, he just doesnt miss. And this is where his (IMHO) better work starts with Gorillaz. Overall a great and unique album which I rate 8/10 (It's not the BEST gorillaz album).

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Jan 09 2023

Oh David Bryne and Brian Eno. Underrated (at least Eno is) GOAT's of music. An absolute classic on this album with 'Once In a Lifetime' and other incredable lesser talked about songs like 'Born Under Punches' and great 'The Great Curve'. So good, always a treat to listen to (I claim to be) Scottish music Legend. 9/10

Bummed by Happy Mondays
Jan 11 2023

Pretty good, did enjoy was a nice background soundtrack to my life for that moment. 7/10

Scream, Dracula, Scream by Rocket From The Crypt
Jan 12 2023

This was just a bore of a listen. It wasn’t bad but it was just didnt go anywhere. Did nothing interesting or new and sounded old for ‘95. Overall 5/10

Jan 13 2023

Probably my favourite Muse album. It's just the perfection of what makes Muse. The singing, the lyrics, the instruments, the sounds used. A leap over the already great absolution. Like any album that has 'Knights of Cydonia' can not be lower than an 8/10. 9 to potentially a perfect 10/10

Darkdancer by Les Rythmes Digitales
Jan 16 2023

I don't usually listen to electronic, dance music but I did enjoy the album. But it also solidified my dislike of this expansive genre and thats the repetition of the samples and lyrics used, it doesn't go anywhere and makes me feel like I am going insane. Overall 6/10

Ragged Glory by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Jan 19 2023

It was alright, Neil goes in the Bob Dyla (and now geese) catagory of great penmanship but a grating voice to listen too and that does lower my enjoyment greatly. The country music also isn't my cup of team which makes it just boring for me to listen too. Overall 5/10

Jan 21 2023

As much as I hate Morrissey, the lyrics and Johnny Marr make up for the hatred as the songs are alwasy good. Brilliant ideas that flow effortlessly amongst one another. Overall 8/10 cos its Morrissey.

Bossanova by Pixies
Jan 23 2023

The 3rd best Pixies album to some (Critics and users on AOTY). My second Pixes album I have listened too fully, and it's a lot more intense than i remember Doolittle being. I did enjoy this, great listening experience. Overall 8/10

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jan 25 2023

Was alright dont think this 60s ,70s slow rock is really my taste. 6/10.

Jan 28 2023

Kinda boring, had to start listening to twice. It was good though, I did enjoy it after the first track, highlights like War on War, Heavy Metal Drummer. Overall 6/10

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
Jan 29 2023

Enjoy some British Synthpop. Was pretty good, nice mix of instrumentals and great singing. Overall 7/10

Jan 30 2023

Very very good as expected with Brian Eno. This one sounds very much like David Byrne and The Talking Heads. I dont have much to say about this, was just an enjoyable experience. Overall 7/10

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Jan 31 2023

This shit is ethereal. So so beautiful, well put together, and just perfect. So many little hidden piece of information in the lyrics. The pipes, drums, guitars, keys, the background singers, all of it just perfectly working harmonising gracefully together making the best of the best music. THIS is what theatre kid music is and its brilliant. It almost made me feel sad and almost cry of John Wayne Gacy, but then quickly reminded me of his atrocities, whiplashing me in feelings. Easily has become one of my favourite albums and I will check out more of his stuff. 10/10

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Feb 02 2023

A harmless, enjoyable Country album. But don't let the country part put you off, its mostly accoustic singer/songwriter music. It's a bit Jeff Buckley esc, but somehow more about love songs (probably because that is what country is about). Overall I did enjoy the album 7/10

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Feb 18 2023

Released on 9/11 and recorded in NYC, unfortunate but also funny. Great album enjoyed it even though i felt like I was missing some context of the happenings in Jay-Z's life around the creation of the album. 8/10

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Feb 20 2023

I like this woman and her 'big yellow taxi's and 'Blue' feelings. Joni is a brilliant lyricist, telling enticing and flowing stories that really captivate your imagination. She uses word play so well it really seperates her for the rest. Joni also has such a unique sound, both in voice and music. Her singing is spoken poem like and her music is folky but with inspiration from around the world. Overall 9/10

Arise by Sepultura
Feb 24 2023
Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Mar 11 2023

One of the lesser discussed Radiohead albums and thats a shame since its one of the more different ones that does what it sets out to do brilliantly. I might be slightly biased (I am no matter what) since I did get to see quite a bit of the album live. This album on 'Album of the Year' is the 6th highest rated album by users and it should be 3rd, its definitely better than, The Bend, Moonshaped Pool, although interchangable with Kid A. Overall an incredible, emotional journey that entices you from the start. 9/10

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jun 15 2024

Title track is a great song to end Bowies magnificent career, but happily it’s only the beginning of this beautiful final hurrah for the spaceman. Lazurus is an epic track that is probably my favourite of them all. The whole album is a somber affair of Bowie and his struggles with cancer and accepting death. It is probably his best writing and musical ideas put into a final goodbye of one of the best and most influential artists ever.

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Jun 16 2024

Opener is a banger shall see what the rest becomes. Loving this, World strongest man fav so far. Still loving it half way through Boy Child was a beautiful melody into a fun upbeat but still somber song, Hero of the War. Old man’s back again really mad you feel like a Stalinist. What a beautiful 30 minutes, Scott Walker has a beautiful voice and amazing musical choices. Great first album to him might listen to the other three Scott’s.

Jun 17 2024

It’s good but it ain’t for me, aren’t really feeling it. Favourite got to be Streets of Bakersfield. It was a country album but I do enjoy the easy beats and guitars but it isn’t my cup of tea.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jun 18 2024

Off to a strong start, lovely voice. A chaotic album so far. Ought to Know is my favourite. Never mind, Right Through You is the best song I’ve heard. Great lyricism and the guitars oooooh my. God this is a great album. I love guitars going ham and along with a uke/simtar sounding instrument!!!! Every song just makes this album better and better. And I have heard of her before with Ironic, which is a certified banger. As previously mentioned, IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER. Close to a ten outta ten album. Favs: The final 3 songs; Ironic, Not a Doctor, and Wake Up. Least Fav got to sadly be All I Really Want. 9/10

Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 19 2024

The inspiration for naming my cat :). Let’s see if the title track deserves to be my cats name. Rio slapped lovely the sound, it’s like Depesche mode and other bands like that but British (🤢🤢). Favourite so far is Hungary like the Wolf. Loving me so new wave music, they’re all bops. They’re all bops that are catching but different especially The Chauffeur. The Chauffeur has got to be my favourite, after all those poppy bops this mysterious synth beat songs add so much to the album. Great singer, great lyrics, great instruments overall solid album 8/10.

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Jun 20 2024

An absolute Icon of an album, Led changed the scene. Great guitars as to be expected with a Leddy album. And Kashmir, what a great, beautiful song.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Jun 21 2024

It’s good. Not listened to much if at all any blues but I’m enjoying it. Simple beats with some wacky pianos. Love me some ragtime. Good album. Nothing really stuck out to me but fav has to be baby pleas don’t go, a classic blues/country/rock n roll sounding name. 7/10

Green by R.E.M.
Jun 22 2024

Fuck ye REM. Love me some sleep. Good album enjoyed very much. But samey though. 7/10

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Jun 24 2024

I’ve heard of this man before, might be a stand or something. Got some hot as sounding music. And I mean in a desert dying from the heat in Breathe of the wild desert. HEY ITS THE SONG FROM SOPRANOS!! But seriously Dirty Work is a banger. So many songs I’ve heard before, didn’t know it was by this guy. Real in’ in the Years. A TUNE. I’ve also just found out this was his debut I think so… Steely Dan came out swinging with some classic hits that live on. 8/10

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jun 25 2024

Oooooh. Any excuse for listening to Jeff. It’s already a 10/10 btw. Mojo Pin, what an opener and then into the title track Grace. It’s so good. I wish he could’ve made more 😔. God this hallelujah is so good.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jun 26 2024

These guys have some funny music videos. It was a 6/10 album.

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Jun 27 2024

Yippee Kate Bush time. The Fog really makes you FEEL like a fog. This song, Heads We’re Dancing, is how it feels to talk to someone on the internet with the lyric. “That’s a picture of Hitler” “He’d go ‘Doodoo doo’”. Ok Rockets Tail was good and probably the best if I didn’t love This Woman’s Work because my mum introduced it to me :) 8/10, Kate Bush always servers.

Jun 28 2024

Not really listened to Rap so looking forward to the introduction. Lost at Birth was fun. Nighttrain is a fucking banger. Fav. Half way through haven’t heard any of this before but thourghly enjoying my first real experience with 90s Rap/Hip-Hop. Hadn’t heard any of it before but very enjoyable 7/10

Different Class by Pulp
Aug 06 2024

I love cock- I mean Jarvis Cocker. Listening to it I’ve realised that I’ve heard most of the songs already thanks to my mum and her impeccable music taste. It made me think about her and that’s made me happier. Nostalgia and reminiscing aside it was also great music obviously if my mum liked it. Jarvis cocker would’ve loved being a theatre kid and you would agree if you’ve seen him live. 9/10.

American Gothic by David Ackles

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Nov 08 2024

It is a beautiful album. Reminds me of christmas' gone by. beautiful love songs about places the singer misses and remonises about. Nice and slow could imagine slow dancing too it with a significant other. Tidal by Fiona Apple
Nov 17 2024

God she's so good. I remember that I listed to so much Fiona before I dropped out of uni. What ever that means, read into it what you will. But as always she delivers, with great lyrics, music and very evident talent. I rate this 8/10

Nov 26 2024

Love this era of British music. Might be better than Britpop for some of the bands are classics, like the Happy Mondays. Highly recommend. 8/10

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Oct 29 2025

Greatly enjoyed this. Never heard of these guys before and thought it was just gonna be some nerdy parody esc album but was blown away from the different sounds and lyrics. If you've never heard of them as well greatly encourage giving at least this album a try. Don't let the name and album cover put you off; as they say dont judge a book by the cover. 8/10.

Bad Company by Bad Company
Oct 31 2025

Wasnt half bad enjoyed it, nice and calming. Recommend but not a crazy album. 6/10

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Nov 01 2025

Rip Ozzy. Its a good album and the start of one of the greatest bands of all time but its easily not their best work compared to, Paranoid or Master of Reality. Still good overall 7/10.

Nov 04 2025

Never listened to this guy before and was pleasently enthrawled with his sound. Some great funk, soul and tunes. Overall brilliant sound, and still felt new and fresh 50 years (wow) on. 9/10

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Nov 05 2025

Good ol William Joel. Never listened too an album by him i realise, although this album has some of my favourite songs by him (Vienna and Movin’ out) and ive found a new fav in She’s Always a Woman. Great album highly enjoyed and recommend, will definitely listen to more albums by him. 9/10

Eternally Yours by The Saints
Nov 06 2025

Great music to listen too on this early morning that I happened to listen them too during. Sounds like The Clash, The Who and Lou Reed’s stuff. Fast and quick but in a good way, these songs don’t have to be long. Recommend. 7/10

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Nov 08 2025

This album has an example of a cover being better than the original with proud mary by Tina Turner (and Ike I guess) being heads above, Creedence Clearwater Revival's original version. Overall an okay album was anything special but was not bad. Middle of the road. 5/10.

Briliant album. 10/10 Right off the bat. Was an interesting story through the British Empire from Queen Vicky to the Colonies and the many wars in the 20th centurary. Highly recommend a listen to this. Again 10/10.

Kid A by Radiohead
Nov 13 2025

Brilliant album. Not listened to in a wee while and was great to listen to again. 10/10.

Nov 14 2025

I mean Scottish Legend, Dave (I know he left early on in his life but I still claim him. We don't have much going on). A great and unique album by the TH and first with another great producer (and one of my favourite artist) Brian Eno. My one critisim is this expirence flies by but thats minor when you enjoy it all. 9/10

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Nov 15 2025

ZZ Top to me is a multiple hit wonders. So I've never listened to an album of theirs but have heard their top hits, like Gimme all your loving and Sharp Dressed Man which are on this album, so familiar territory. Overall, a solid rock album, nothing too crazy but not bad. Has catchy songs. Good album. 6/10

Foxbase Alpha by Saint Etienne
Nov 19 2025

Not my cup of tea. Not a fan of dance music, was good though, but as said not for me. 4/10

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Nov 22 2025

Brilliant. Under rated album of Bowie’s, especially by myself. Greatly enjoyed. 9/10

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Feb 25 2026

Imagine having to do be in a band and do a tour with your ex-wife. Would not be fun. But seriously The White Stripes are great as always but this one felt like it was just slipping away from start to finish. there was some highs but it became quite low and almost bland. Overall I did enjoy it 7/10

Goo by Sonic Youth
Feb 27 2026

Heard of sonic youth before but never listened. I love the different vocalists they have and i especially love a female lead singer in a band. The music was also good, im a fan of indie rock, post punk but dont listen to it as much as i would like. Overall 8/10.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Mar 02 2026

It’s the Wonderwall band! In all seriousness they were (are?) a great band, of which this is my second album of theirs i am listening too fully. Compared to Morning glory it doesnt have those massive hits of Champagne supernova or wonderwall, but it still has great (and maybe better musically) songs like Live forever and Cigarettes and Alcohol. Overall greatly enjoyed it but a little less than Morning Glory. 8/10

Mar 05 2026

What are the chances after Definitely maybe. I have listened to this before and i remember enjoying it so hope that stays like that. Overall did enjoy it more than DM, the song writing was better, lyrics and the deeper meanings where all better than DM. Morning Glory also reached a higher acclaim which i agree with. Overall brilliant album, 9/10

Repeater by Fugazi
Mar 11 2026

It was alright, wasnt very well produced but that is probably intended. The singing was good and the lyrics, but the overall product just was not it. There was a few songs I enjoyed like 'Repeater' and 'Shut the Door' but overall was not very enjoyable. 5/10

Imperial Bedroom by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Mar 12 2026

It's rather like Damon Albarn's solo career. This album is very british, but also surfer rock like for the states. Mixed identity thats for sure. BUT its brilliant, so unique and fun to listen to, I was not bored of one song they stay their welcome for the right amount of time. It sound a little more modern than when it was released in the early 80s, sounds like its from the mid to late 90s. I can see where Will Wood got insperation from potentially. Really enjoyed it 50 minutes flew by. 7/10

OK Computer by Radiohead
Mar 15 2026

Briliant album, what more do i have to say. 9/10

Fever Ray by Fever Ray
Mar 16 2026

Never heard of the them. Their the classic scandi synthpop music makers. Bunch of bullshit that sounds good. The lyrics, synths, drum machines all of it culminating in beautiful sounds. Very Bjork sounding due to the randomness of lyrics and the music itself. On an unrelated note they kinda look like a Harkonnen from Denis Vilnuerve’s Dune films on their AOTY profile. Kinda reminds me of Donkey Kong Country with its scenic sounding music, with different scenery’s per song, like Donkey Kong Country games. Overall I greatly enjoyed this album 8/10.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Apr 01 2026

Fucking love the Smashing Pumpkins, love this album, love it all. Great hits like ‘Today’, ‘Cherub Rock’ and ‘Disarm’. It is harder to write a review for a heavily listened to band and album i feel because I enjoy it so much and it is on of my favourite albums. As Billy Corgan Says ‘Today is the greatest day ive ever know’. 9/10.
