User Albums Summary

My first user album from the generator and it kicks major ass! I've owned this record for years and gave it to my son when he moved out. The Wilson sisters rock. A huge omission by Dimery and Co. to not have any Heart on the list, this album and Little Queen should have been in the original book.

It's been a while since I've heard this banger. Played it through 3 times and it's as great as I remember. The guitar tone is just crushing. Big thanks to whoever picked it. Wata rules.

I know I'm in the minority, but this is easily my favorite Tool album. An absolute masterpiece of drumming by Danny Carey. Watching the live drum can video of Pneuma is always a mind blower. Thanks for submitting this one, it's going in the rotation.

How was the Father of Rock and Roll not on the original list? Dumbfounding to say the least. Thank you for correcting this error. Chuck Berry is the man.

The drum work on this album is next level. Opening with an 11+ minute track and the 2nd side consisting of one 22+ minute long piece. Yes please, all day long. Just excellent.

By my estimation three things kept this album from being on the original list. 1. It's not British 2. It's not British electronica. 3. It's not mediocre 90's Britpop. High quality pop punk that should've been on the original list.

If Cake were British they'd have a few albums on the list. This record is a good time.

Fuck the haters and ignore the bullshit low star reviews. This is really a strong pop album. Good tunes and good vocals. Just remember that as asinine as it sounds, 20% of the people here have rated Sgt. Pepper's at 3 stars and below. That said, 1 in 5 people wouldn't know a good album if it punched them in the eardrum.

Kick ass. I'm not a gamer so I'm not familiar with this. I've been digesting this multiples times over a 2 week period. Watched about an hour and a half of a 4 hour play through video on youtube and it helped connect the music. Nice pick, the ambient parts are standout for me. Those mannequin leg things are straight fucking creepshow.

Saint Parton.

What the fuck Dimery? He gives us lots of '90s dreck metal like Limp Bizkit, Kid Suck and Marilyn Manson while passing over one of the greatest albums of the decade. This and Undertow should've been on the original list. Thank you for correcting a major oversight.

Banger debut album. This one could've easily been on the original list. I had a girlfriend in high school that was a huge Depeche Mode fan, extra stars for the nostalgia trip.

I really dig this type of Americana Folk music. Awesome vocal harmonies. Nice pick for the user list.

Strong dream pop album. The vocals are standout but the bassist is the MVP. Killer basslines and great tone. Not sure how this got skipped in the original book.

Really nice laid back folk album. If this dude went on tour with Langhorne Slim and Caamp I'd hope they came close enough for me to go. With Autumn approaching I'll probably dive into more of his catalog.

As an aficionado of all things kraut, be it sauer, blau, or its distant cousin kimchi, krautrock is my favorite. This album kicks ass. So does their 2nd record. '70s German space rock is where it's at. Best album I've had on the user list so far.

Awesome album full of space rock bangers. Little Dipper is a nice heavy shoegazey opener and Songs of Farewell and Departure is a great mellow way to close the album. All killer and no filler in between. 39 albums into the user list and asking how Dimery and Co. missed this album is getting pretty redundant. Lol.

Chuck kicks ass. Never listened to Sum 41 before unless it was a tune on the radio. The Bitter End and 88 are straight bangers. Definitely a candidate for the original list.

High quality kosmische musik. This and Sowiesoso should've been on the original list. Great album and a great pick.

Excellent pick. I've listened to Coltrane a lot and he should have had more than 1 album on the list. The vocals are smooth as silk and the instrumentation is outta sight. These cats can play anything and they bust out a masterclass in dynamic restraint. Yet another user submitted album that surpasses many from the original book.

This is really excellent ambient music. I've never heard of Malibu but this album is a nice combination of focused and relaxing. Nice pick and thank you for achieving the rare feat of making me wish an album was longer.

High quality Post Rock. Listened thru a few times and enjoyed it immensely. Perfect Sunday morning album. As a fan of Numinous by Those Who Ride With Giants, it seems they've borrowed heavily from Explosions In The Sky. Thanks for a great user album pick.

Back when I was in college I used to listen to a lot of Dub. This album, King Tubby, The Congos. All that groovy stuff. Maybe if this had been on the jukebox at the bar I went to I would've gotten a little more action.

Phenomenal album. First time listening and I'm floored. One 56 minute track that is rhythmic, hypnotic, pulsing, ambient and minimalist. This checks a lot of boxes for me. I'll be revisiting this for sure. Considering 1978 has 3 of the lowest rated albums on the list, this seems like a big miss by Dimery and Co.

One of the greatest albums of all time by one of the greatest bands of all time being completely ignored by Dimery in the original book is unfortunately the rule and not the exception. Tuesday Afternoon and Nights in White Satin are two songs that never get old.

Never heard of these cats before. Interesting album. Definitely on the weird side, and that's a good thing for me. Solid pick.

It's a rare thing knowing the exact date and time first hearing an artist. The Avett Brothers are one of those groups for me. December 15, 2012. The 24th annual Warren Haynes Christmas Jam in Asheville, NC. The Blind Boys of Alabama Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue The Avett Brothers Sheryl Crow The String Cheese Incident Warren Haynes Band They were a last minute add and a major highlight of the night. It was a real leave your teeth in the stage moment. Great tunes, killer energy, good times. There's video on YT of their set, check it out. I've considered myself a fan after that gig and I've listened to this album many times. But anyway, this is a 5 star album even without the trip down memory lane. Damn fine Americana and an excellent addition to the user list.

Last century, when a much younger me was living in Long Beach, I had a roommate that had a poster of this album cover on the wall. That dude was a righteous mofo, he hipped me to loads of great music. The Doors, Echo and The Bunnymen, Ice T, Bolt Thrower, English Dogs. It really expanded my mostly 80's heavy metal palette. But anyway, appropriate to get this album made by anarchists and anti-fascists on mid term election day. Solid pick, should've been on the original list.

Solid album. It's a grower, I liked it a lot more on my third listen as I was rolling down the road in my bad ride. The more upbeat tracks like 225 are where it's at for me.

Every time I listen to this album I'm dumbfounded that it wasn't in the original book. Great pick. 5 stars all day.

Heck yeah, this album is a masterclass in cosmic psych-folk. On the supremely weird scale this has a lot of weight, but in the most enchanting way possible. There are absolutely no bites taken from the commercial apple here; and to me, she is operating entirely in a musical dimension of her own. With her spectral, operatic vocals and untamed instrumentation, this album is less like a traditional record and more like a beautiful, ancient hallucination. It is challenging and utterly spellbinding. The vocal layering on Benevolent Spring is standout. A very rewarding listen. Excellent pick.
