Unhalfbricking
Fairport ConventionNot an album I'd go out my way to listen to again, but not particularly an album I'd avoid either.
Not an album I'd go out my way to listen to again, but not particularly an album I'd avoid either.
A strong 3, probably would've rated it higher with another listen, better than the previous album.
Kind of just sounds like a watered down version of the Beatles
Superb, a very fun (and clearly a timeless) album. Didn't feel the urge to skip a single song on this album, first time listening to it, well worth it.
Was not particularly drawn in by this one, got quite bored listening to it halfway through.
Electronic music has never truly been my thing, but this, this is just something else. Unfortunately the first album so far I've had to skip songs on.
Definitely will be bias considering this album is the album that got me into Slipknot The first album that made them deviate away from their original sound and their unfortunate last album with Joey. It's a good album, though definitely one of their weaker albums.
Be ready to catch these hands if you rate this album anything lower than a 5. I already listen to this album in full every other day. Can't really seem to go wrong with Radiohead, but this record is one of my all time favourites and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did
A classic that I haven't listened to in a while, nice to have played it again.
First time listening to it, but have heard so much about it. And you can instantly see the appeal and hype. A very strong album from start to finish, one that'll I'll be revisiting.
No bad songs in particular, but it all started to sound the same after a while, a very 'safe' album in my opinion, and I love the indie genre. Not their best album either.
Found this album difficult to finish, quite surprised because I thought I'd enjoy it but I suppose I was wrong.
I just wished they'd delete the first song, quite enjoyed the rest of the album though
There's something about the guys voice that just drives me nuts... Their music isn't necessarily bad, and they're a great influence to other bands and modern rock/metal music but I cannot tolerate his singing.
Not much going on. Singles stand out but only a little past the monotone
A bit like Bowie, but less exciting, fantastic bass playing though
Given the fact that it's psychedelic rock, I'd expected myself to enjoy it more than I did. So I'm a little disappointed.
This album has got to be one of the most well known and well regarded jazz albums. And while I enjoy jazz, it isn’t something I seek out much or often. Despite its place in our culture, I would not have listened to this album without this list, and its place on this list is well deserved.
And here it is, my first 5 star rated album I got from this list. Had to listen to this album several times, absolutely right up my alley, I cannot believe I haven't listened to this before.
This is the first album on here I've really felt like one listen isn't enough to really grasp it - there's clearly a lot going on underneath the surface. All in all, it is a solid album, with amazing experimentation and lyrics, but it is a bit dense for regular listening. F. Song - Alright
Cool album art, especially for this kind of music. I want to enjoy this, but it's a bit messy on the first take. I suppose I've come to prefer Daft Punk's cleaner, less cluttered sound. May enjoy more on another listen. Frontier Psychiatrist is a hell of a tune though.
Not a fan. First songs function well as background music and fade away quickly since there is nothing really interesting happening. The last songs, on the other hand, stay in the foreground but in a bad way. Just a bunch of noise. (Remove the vocalist and it probably would've been a 3).
This album starts with Movin' out which is probably my favorite Billy Joel song. The whole album is really great from start to finish, it feels almost like a 'Best of'.
Never heard of this album or group. Very dreamy and melancholic and I'm glad I discovered this, will add this along with Velvet Underground to my list of albums I need to purchase.
I understand the importance of this album, but, boy was this challenging to listen to. It was more of an educational piece rather than an album you can just put on and listen to in the background.
Expected I was going to like this more than I did. Perhaps listening to the self titled album first had set my expectations too high.
I had fun with this album, enjoyed it until the end, can't say any songs in particular stand out though so you may argue it's a little forgettable. But enjoyable nonetheless.
Sounded a bit messy. I get the tone they were going for but it wasn’t for me.
Didn't really get anything from it, like I didn't hate it, but it was extremely forgettable and straight up wasn't for me.
One or two songs, but that's about it really. Immediately forgot about it until it came to the review.
Blur have made better songs, better albums and Damon has gone on to do so much better, so listening to this was quite disappointing.
Heard quite a few of these songs, never realised a lot of these bangers were by Blondie, particularly all of them in one album, one or two songs I didn't fancy but a great album nonetheless.
Papa was a rolling stone is such a banger.
Tried it, had to stop, country really is a difficult genre to listen to.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
First half was just not my thing, sounded awful to me. Got to Bedroom Dancing and thought it was a great song, grew optimistic and was ready to rate it higher, but the song immediately after and the rest of the album reminded me why I wanted to give it a 1 star rating. Couldn't enjoy it apart from the one song.
Kind of got bored, music that's very easy to zone out to, but not in a good way.
Hadn't heard of these guys but this is good indie stuff. Loved it and will be coming back to it.
It was all right, a little forgettable and a lot of the songs sounded the same. Not bad but not great either.
Found it difficult to listen to.
Hip moving music, there were a few songs on there that I didn't care for but most of them were good
It started off pretty okay with the opener. As it went on I disliked it for the most part. There were a couple of decent tracks but a lot was just unappealing. The lyrics were pretty dumb at times too. What a waste of Kendrick.
Extremely uncomfortable listen, can't imagine anyone actually sat through its entirety without going insane.
Been a little while since I've listened to Deep Purple and boy do I forget how good they are, particularly this album.
Not much of anything really, just a bland album.
Definitely brings the 60s sound. Weird hybrid of early Beatles and Dylan? I thought I would like it more but I found it overall just fine.
Clearly “ahead of its time.” Can definitely see the roots of punk here.
People seem to like this one, perhaps I don't get it. Wasn't particularly into it.
Lead vocals were absolutely awful. Made listening to this album a challenge. His tone was just so off putting, as for the rest, not much to say to be honest.
Not a single redeeming quality about this album, seems I've been cursed to listen to some garbage albums.
Very lackluster. Generic, another album that I really haven't got much from.
Not as good as I remembered it being, but not the worst.
Quite a good album, I found myself enjoying this a fair amount.
I've always enjoyed The Smiths, and this album has got some particularly good tracks with "I Know it's Over" being my favourite song by the group.
Really great for a debut album, though not quite complete as their others albums. Fav song: Spiders
Definitely could've went without listening to this. This genre just isn't for me, don't see the appeal whatsoever.
Expected to hate this one, but I didn't, quite chill.
Probably wouldn't end up going back to it but was it was fun.
I love the voices, the mood, sparse arrangements and general sound. When it's good, and it gets the vibe/beat right, it is amazing. My one complaint is that it gets a little samesy and there are many songs without a hook. Still very enjoyable.
Better than expected but nothing that blew me away.
Personally found this one to be a difficult listen, just sounds very messy and incoherent - a shame.
Just ugh.
Quite enjoyed this one, would probably rate it higher on another listen. One or two songs I didn't care for but overall a decent album.
It's Bowie, so obviously it comes with good tracks, but not a Bowie album I'd have picked to be a must listen.
Surprisingly enjoyed this, never listened to public enemy before, expected to dislike this.
Maybe it lulled a little in the middle but strong start and incredible last leg.
Not really for me, sounded the and and very repetitive
The first 3 songs absolutely carry the rest of the album, would've even been a 5 star album had they kept that tempo, but unfortunately the album falls off.
My grand return for this absolutely masterpiece of an album! Had to make sure I came back so I could rate this a 5/5.
