Kala by M.I.A.

Outside of the cash register song nothing on Kala really stuck with me. I can see why it's considered influential, but M.I.A.'s views and public behavior make it difficult for me to separate the artist from the music, so I can't rate it higher than two stars.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Dec 25 2024

Listened 2024-12-24 @ 9:00 AM I've started listening to LCD Soundsystem in college but I haven't listened to the full album in so long. Tracks 4 and 5 are my favorite of the album.

The Trinity Session by Cowboy Junkies
May 08 2026

What a beautiful and quiet album. It’s something I’d have to dedicate more than a day to fully appreciate, as it doesn’t immediately jump out to me as the kind of music I’d normally listen to. Reading about how it was recorded was really cool, but at this point in my life, the genre just isn’t for me.

Grace by Jeff Buckley

I hear the influence on Muse and Radiohead

Basket of Light by Pentangle
Jun 03 2026

Complex and intricate music. A blend of folk and jazz, or better yet it feels both ancient and experimental. It's so interesting to listen to that it makes me want to learn more. I can hear traces of it in artists I enjoy, like Fleet Foxes, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Decemberists
