Several JH gems on this album to include Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Child (Slight Return), and All Along the Watchtower. Like all Hendrix albums it's a bumpy ride as there are several cuts that are decidedly less than the hits. I would stress that Jimi didn't have the chance to fully develop his song writing skills which most likely would have improved over a longer career. Having said all that, the world is a better place having been graced with the Hendrix material that we have.
Love this album, it's my favorite Police long play.
Love it. Sort of down tempo for Beck but still in my occasional rotation.
Pink Floyd, what can I say.
This was the album that really introduced the Offspring to the world. Perfect post punk from 1994. Still a good listen when I'm in the mood for uptempo, angsty rock.
Too before my time. Folk just never grabbed my attention. On the plus side, Tim Buckley gave us Jeff Buckley.
Not exactly my thing but very interesting.
Solid album, front to back.
Love the Ramones. They followed in the footsteps of MC5, Iggy Pop and others but in my opinion, The Ramones really started punk in the US.
Love these guys. Very strong album.
Still a solid album 55 years later. Love the One You're With still hits hard.
Although TV on the Radio have a number of songs I really like, I just can't appreciate this entire album. Not my thing.
Considered a classic this is just too far outside my wheelhouse to really enjoy.
Top 200 album for me. Stones at their best.
Ray Price was a musical treasure. Not exactly my favorite genre but it's certainly grown on me as I got older.
Some interesting sounds, love the bass. Overall, just too repetitive for me.
I appreciate some of Lang's music, she can certainly write and has a nice voice. However, "Western swing" music just isn't my thing and I found this a hard album to listen to.
Still sounds great. I don't often listen to AC/DC these days but this album scratches the itch when I need some down & dirty rock. Many people counted AD/DC as done when Bon Scott tragically died but the boys found a more than adequate replacement in Brian Johnson. Great comeback album
One of the greatest debut albums ever. Still in my rotation.
Pleasant, unremarkable. Would listen again.
Solid album from an epic artist.
Really fun listen. Ska is not in my top genres but this was a nice diversion while I was working.
One of the first albums I bought as a teenager. It still slaps hard. Not an every day kind of listen for me these days but I still it consider it as really good and is my favorite ZZ Top album.
Mark II of Deep Purple - Starts off with a bang with Speed King. In my opinion, Child in Time is the best song on this album. Not my favorite Deep Purple disk, that would be Machine Head but this is a very solid offering and I always enjoy it when I throw it on the turntable from time to time.
Such a wonderful songwriter. I still put this on from time to time.
Fantastic artist, taken from us far too young.
Not terrible but just didn't grab my attention. I was intrigued by the album name after attending many concerts at Merriweather Post over the years.
I've loved her since the Sugar Cubes. Bjork is one of one. Huma Behavior is so freaking good and the album just oes from there...
Never cared for Bon Jovi. To slick, too radio-friendly
Top tier album. This is a 10 of 10 album to me.
Such a good album. Not my go-to genre but good for the occasional listen.
Brilliant debut album. I love every song on this disk. Shadowboxer is outstanding as is Criminal. I bought this when it was first released and still love it today.
It's the Beatles, what else is there to say?
Love this album. Definitely a desert island disk.
Such a great album. Not a clunk on either side.
Wonderful album from an epic performer.
Pleasant, nothing that hits my "ick" button. Just OK. Wouldn't go out of my way to listen again.
Elliott Smith left this earth far too early so we'll have to appreciate what we were gifted.
Elliott Smith left this earth far too early so we'll have to appreciate what we were gifted.
Love this album. Their second album was not well received but now sounds pretty good. It's a shame they didn't stick around longer.
Tried to give it a chance, nah, not for me.
Great album front to back! This should be in everyone's collection.
Top tier, doesn't get better than this.
Such a fun listen. Not my usual genre but I enjoyed this moment in time recording.
Top notch! The queen of soul. Love me some old Motown.
Mediocre band, master marketers!
Van may be an ahole as a person but he's a treasure as a song writer and musician.
Fantastic debut album. I like earlier Arctic Monkeys far better than later "crooner" Arctic Monkeys.
My all time favorite Beatles solo album.
