Fun album
That shit was wild, hard to listen to as a daily but I bet that shit went hard back then.
So much heartbreak, forlorn, longing, I'm sure the sadness hits a note for anyone who listens to this album. Gotta love a cathartic feel that leaves you feeling wistful. Listen counts are wrong, All I Ask is the top song, then Love In The Dark, don't think too hard about why those two. Lovely to end on a positive song, probably only fits when listening to the full album though.
I kind of love this, the transition from swing to straight in My Best Friend had me relistening multiple times, Somebody to Love is clearly a classic, and overall I enjoyed the vibe of it quite a lot.
I think some of the songs in this album are slightly tainted from being incredibly overplayed on radio back in high school days. They're some fun songs, but I don't think it's my favorite style, particularly not as a whole album.
Wow that... was not for me...
Lot of good songs, and even if its too long for my normal taste, silverfuck was interesting. I'd be pretty happy to listen to this again, it'll live in my head from Rock Band anyway.
Definitely some fun songs and you can feel how this would have been a really unique and game-changing album at the time. Not my favorite style, but I do love some funky basslines and Prince does have an impressive voice. Not really for me, but a fun album.
Never listened a ton to Hip/Hop or rap but this is a crazy album. On first listen its got great sound and feel, but learning about 2Pac's sentence and incarceration surrounding this gives it some real context.
Ehhhh, it's just not really my kind of music.
Don't really love any of this, it's fine, but not my favorite
Didn't really love anything in here, wasn't offensive either, but just didn't love it.
"Stop Me..." is the only one i really knew. It's a pretty fun album but not really one of my favorites. Good bits and pieces, not my top choice all around.
Fun album, feels really reminiscent of the beasty boys
I do love Highway Star, Smoke on the Water is fun, but most of the other songs are not that memorable. Many fun parts like the call and response guitar and vocalist, or the endless drum solo, but much of the album blends into a nice sounding background.
It's an interesting blend of music, some folk punk sort of thing, but it's not that enjoyable to me.
I liked this a fair bit, it has some very vibes and I can easily find myself tapping my foot along with most of the album, but also feels like there is more to it than just a good beat.
Amazing voice, got goosebumps many times while listening, I really liked the simplicity of often just having piano or guitar in each song. Overall the album just seems very cohesive and authentic.
I really liked this, it had a really different style and it was overall just a fun album to listen to.
Beautiful voice and is interesting to hear a full album of his. Certainly, an era I've not listened to much of. Not my modern listening taste but it was a nice change of pace.
Pretty good, blended together a bit too much but maybe that's what I get for listening while running.
Pretty good but nothing that exciting to me.
Couple fun songs but mostly not my jam.
Really enjoyed despite not understanding which is normally a big deal to me.
Couple good songs and a bit more to blend it together, funny intro and outro though.
"it's the House song!"
