Frank Ocean: channel ORANGE: This shit SUCKS. Repetitive, generic, boring, pretentious, pointless, etc. I have nothing good to say about this. This is dogshit. His voice is annoying and everything is like woah surface level shitty pop. Fuck this. The best thing I can say about this is I've heard worse stuff. 2.5/10

Sonic Youth: Evol: A very interesting album. The variety is insane, with a lot of really cool instruments and different sounds and styles. I enjoyed most of it, though sometimes it goes on a little bit too long with certain ambient stuff. Pretty cool and not what I normally listen to. 8/10

Charles Mingus: The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady: This is a pretty cool jazz album. A lot of complicated melodies and such. It is very cool, though not something I could listen to all the time. It is both beautiful and chaotic, the piano parts and percussion are excellent. The saxophone can be a little much, but it is mostly very cool. A very nice album even if its a little much at times for my tastes. 8.25/10

Jimi Hendrix: Axis: Bold As Love: Really damn good. The guitar work is intricate, and the songs are incredibly varied and interesting. His vocals are also fantastic. I can see why Hendrix is so well regarded, this was a really enjoyable listen. Some of the weird parts are a little too abstract or go on too long, but that's really my only complaint. 9/10

Lorde: Melodrama: This was absolutely stunning. Super interesting, fun, dynamic, and emotional. I loved every song on this album, her voice is stellar and I loved the production. I will absolutely check out more of her stuff this is clearly special. 10/10

The Smiths: Meat Is Murder: Its good, but I wouldn't say that I love it. The instrumentation is nice, but the album kinda blends together and the vocals are just alright. I liked every song, but I don't see myself going out of my way to relisten to anything. 7/10

Run - D.M.C.: Raising Hell: Not really my thing. A couple of the songs are pretty cool, and they have very interesting percussion and sample usage, I just really don't care for the rapping and such. A lot of the songs were just pretty boring to me, and I HATE walk this way. Dumb Girl in particular is a fucking stupid song. But on the other hand stuff like its tricky is pretty cool. Can't say its awful, not for me. 4/10

Buck Owens: I've Got a Tiger By the Tail: I HATE COUNTRY. BORING!!!!! 1/10

Beck: Guero: Better than I expected. A lot of really weird tracks and a lot of variety. I enjoyed all of them, though the quality range is pretty big. Some of the songs were ok, and some were excellent. The album goes on a little long, but I would say I enjoyed it, though I would not call it amazing. 7/10

Bruce Springsteen: Born To Run: I cannot say this was bad, but I really didn't care for it. Very boring imo, and his voice is really not great. Too raspy and not in a good way. The instrumentations aren't bad, some of the bass and piano work is rather solid actually, but the songs are just not really that enjoyable to listen to, if that makes sense. I would say I'm dissapointed but I know I don't like bruce springsteen so its about what I expected. Just feels very bland despite not beint talentless stuff. 5/10

Isaac Hayes: Hot Buttered Soul: CHEF SOUTH PARK??? Its a cool album, a lot of chill songs, his voice is good, and the instruments are soothing. The first 3 songs were very enjoyable, but the last one is way too much speaking and droning on. Not an awful song, but 18 minutes of that is too much and I did not like it. Not super my thing as a whole, but the first three songs were rather good. 7/10

Pixies: Bossonova: This has some really cool tracks, great riffs, and great moments. Just a very enjoyable and fun album, though the vocals are a little lacking at times. The song rock music in particular is absolutely awful and I despise it, though it is the only one on here I disliked. Pretty good! 7.5/10

George Jones: The Grand Tour: How dare a country singer disgrace the Grand Tour. Its country music: I don't like it. Nothing of note at all, its just fucking country music. The worst part is that this is definitely like "top tier" country music, and it still all sounds the same and is not interesting. At least the album is short. 4.5/10

Slint: Spiderland: This is so fucking boring oh my god. Spoken word over really whatever riffs that repeat over and over and over. I hate this. Contender for the most boring thing I've listened to, 39 minutes felt like hours. 1/10

Sigur Rós: Ágætis Byrjun: This was an hour and eleven minutes. It SUCKS. It is super boring, unengaging, and just not interesting at all. The entire thing just keeps droning on and on and on and on and I cannot recommend it at all. Its a different flavor of boring from yesterday but boy its getting the same score. 1/10

Otis Redding: Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul: Its a fairly good soul album. Not my favorite genre of music, but its solid, fun, and short. Like the instrument diversity. 7/10

Bee Gees: Odessa: This was pretty boring, and REALLY long for no reason. Really samey and the sound is super bland and the dude's voice is a little annoying. Not the worst thing I've ever heard but pass. 4/10

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: Henry's Dream: I mean its alright. I liked most of the songs, but I wouldn't say I loved any of them. Some of them were fairly boring too. Its a decent album and nothing more. 6/10

The Temptations: All Directions: Actually really good funk/soul music. The first song has louder audio in one ear, which I hated, but the rest of the album is really fun and creative. I had a lot of fun listening to the instrument variety and the very well done vocal parts. 8/10

Doves: Lost Souls: Not bad, I enjoyed the whole thing, but it was a little generic and very long for what it is. Still a good time, but they should have trimmed the fat. 7/10

Black Sabbath: Vol. 4: Yeah this is amazing. The riffs and the vocals are absolutely insane. There is a reason this band was as influential as it was. Everything is exquisite, every song(except fx) is a masterpiece. Fx is a waste of space and does drag the album down slightly, and I do think that they have some better albums, but this album is just a monster regardless. All the instrumentals and Ozzy are just absolutely peak musicianship and the songs are a blast. 9.5/10

Mudhoney: Superfuzz Bigmuff: Honestly rather good. The vocals aren't amazing, but they are solid, and the guitars are sludgy and really good. Just a lot of fun though not groundbreaking. 8/10

Rage Against The Machine: Rage Against The Machine: This is one of those albums. Super influential and well regarded. It is VERY easy to see why. It is flawless. It has some of the most dynamic and crisp production ever. The guitar work is insane, tom morello is a beast and this is full of great examples of it. The percussion is diverse and pounding, and the rapping fits with the music very well. This is just a truly exceptional album. 10/10

Michael Jackson: Off the Wall: This is actually amazing. He sounds fantastic(of course), but the synths, songwriting, and the bass guitar are actually unparalleled. Super funky and catchy, just a peak album throughout. Add the fact that you've got one of the best voices of all time singing on this, and you've got a gem. 10/10

The Stooges: The Stooges: While this album is not bad, it wasn't great either. The vocals are very weak and weird, and the songwriting is pretty basic and standard. The song we will fall is also awful. Whatever. 5.5/10

Songhoy Blues: Music In Exile: This is some kinda new blues music, its decent, the percussion is interesitng, but its kind of repetitive and drags on. I still enjoyed every song but it wasn't anything crazy. 6.5/10

LL COOL J: Mama Said Knock You Out: This shit sucks. Its really long, boring, and repetitive. I don't really see any appeal outside of the title track which is good and has a lot of energy. Was honestly really disappointed even though rap and hip hop are not genres I typically enjoy. 3/10

Eminem: The Slim Shady LP: This is ASS. Worse than the last rap album I listened to, which I also hated. Its repetitive, but eminem is fucking ANNOYING. He is not funny 90% of the time, though on the rare chance that he is its usually laugh at loud funny. Otherwise, he is fucking annoying, and he thinks rape is WAY funnier than it is. The songs are really boring and samey, and they are just not enjoyable to listen to at all. I hate this. All the lyrics make him just sound like an asshole and it rarely works. 2/10

Ride: Nowhere: I cannot say this was awful, but it is not for me. I found it very boring and every song has the exact same sound and vibe. Its alright objectively but I will not be listening to this band again. 5/10

Ella Fitzgerald: Ella Fitzgerald Sings The George And Ira Gershwin Song Book: While this is not bad, it is WAY too long. 3 hours and 15 minutes is crazy for music that all sounds exactly the fucking same. Its a good sound, and I enjoyed every song on an individual basis, but I was getting really bored hearing the same fucking style of music over and over and over for 59 songs. As individual songs, these are all fairly good though not super noteworthy, but this is a terrible way to just group them all together. I don't hate it, but I sure won't be listening to this in full ever again. There are a lot of cool instruments, and her voice is very good and these things hard carry the album. 6/10

John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers / Eric Clapton: Blues Breakers: This is a pretty solid and fun album. Its not revolutionary really, but all but one of the songs is just a really solid and fun listen. 7/10

Dexys Midnight Runners: Don't Stand Me Down: A very solid and chill album. It doesn't stand out too much, but I had a nice time listening to it. 7.5/10

Joan Armatrading: Joan Armatrading: Joan Armatrading. This album is really damn good actually, better than I expected. It starts with a good, but typical souls sound, but by the end of the album there are a lot of really cool instrument and piano uses, and the drumming and vocals are excellent throughout. This was a very pleasant surprise honestly and I am really glad I listened to it. 9/10

Germs: GI: This album has fantastic instrumentals, great production, and awful vocals. They are not harsh, they are just shit and sound like a guy whining or whailing. Its a shame, because they have a great guitar sound and their drummer is excellent. 4/10

The Cars: The Cars: This is a pretty good pop rock album. Very cool synth usage, and fun catchy songs. It's not exceptional but its pretty fun. 8.25/10

Robert Wyatt: Rock Bottom: A pretty good and chill album. Pink floydish, though not as good as their stronger stuff. Very nice instrumentation and singing, but its a bit too pretentious. I enjoyed every song but it does feel kinda full of itself if that makes sense. Still some good music though. 7.5/10

Blur: Blur: This is actually pretty damn solid. Pretty unique and inspired, and the quality of the songs is just high overall. Fun and creative listens, and despite the length it wasn't really boring. They're not like catchy or something like that, but this was pretty cool and I'm glad to have listened to this. The songs could be a little more dynamic, if that makes sense? It doesn't quite jump at you, but its all rather good so thats just a nitpick to explain why this isn't some uber high ranking. 8.25/10

Brian Eno: Ambient 1: Music For Airports: This sure is ambient music. Its not bad, but I really do not care for ambient music in general. Kinda boring. Some interesting sounds, I guess, but like who goes out of their way to listen to this? 5/10

xx: the xx: I was interested at first, but this shit is so bare and boring as hell. It all sounds the same, its super basic, and the male vocalist kinda sucks. A shame. 4/10

Buena Vista Social Club: Buena Vista Social Club: A good album, but nothing insane. Its kinda samey, and the songs aren't super my speed, though I liked all of them. Some nice piano work and percussion, but nothing groundbreaking really. 6.5/10

Scott Walker: Scott 4: I don't even want to think about what happened to Scott 1-3. This is some pretty generic but still solid enough pretentious pop music. Very easy to listen to, but not something that stands out at all. 7/10

The Beach Boys: The Beach Boys Today!: Its the Beach Boys. They have one sound, its pretty solid, but its just good and really samey. I doubt I would ever go out of my way to listen to this, but it was enjoyable and brisk, so it didn't get super repetitive. It was still a little samey, though. It just isn't all that special imo, and the last two songs are not good. The production is pretty shakey too, but not enough to really hurt the album a ton, especially given how old it is. 6.75/10

Stevie Wonder: Fulfillingness' First Finale: This is a really cool and unique sounding album. Every song is full of energy and is just enjoyable to listen to throughout. There's a lot of instrument variety that keeps everything fresh, though the bass guitar work on this album in particular is excellent. His voice is also great. Really just a very well made album all around. 9.5/10

The Notorious B.I.G.: Ready to Die: This shit is boring. Very samey, and frankly there are a lot of just sex sounds that are both uncomfortable and really out of place that take you out of the album. Like not mid song, the song will just be an interlude of sex sounds. The synths are pretty cool but they are very repetitive, and along with some solid samples they are the only thing saving this album from a 1. This just ain't it. Notorious M.I.D. 3/10

Lana Del Rey: Chemtrails Over The Country Club: More chill than the pop I usually like, but honestly this is a pretty good album. The songs are pretty cool, relaxing, yet emotional, and very well composed. Her voice is beautiful, which helps a lot. Could use some variety or a little more energy, but I enjoyed this. 8.25/10

Rush: Moving Pictures: Holy shit. This is an amazing album. It is intricate, intense, and incredibly fun to listen to. It is flawless. Every song grips you. The drumming and guitar work is insanely good, and the vocal melodies are also fantastic. Really just amazing honestly. 10/10

Talking Heads: Fear of Music: This is a really cool and funky album. The percussion and guitar work is intricate and unqiue. The songs standout throughout the album, though they do all use the exact same style. I had a great time listening to this though, reminds me of 80 king crimson in a very good way. 9/10

Screaming Trees: Dust: A pretty cool album! Really good vibes, some very unique song structures, both sounding kinda like prog rock and more traditional music. I really liked it, though I think it could have had some more FLAIR. 8.75/10

Scott Walker: Scott 2: What happened to Scott 1 and 3? At least I have found 2. Too bad this shit is boring as fuck. There really isn't anything interesting about this album. Yeah, this sure is music I guess. I don't know what to say, I didn't like it and I will forget this very soon. Scott Walker is NOT it! 4/10

Solange: A Seat at the Table: Eh really not for me. Nothing really stuck out, though it wasn't awful. A lot of interludes that really don't add anything imo. Just kinda an album I guess. I don't plan on listening to anything from it again, but it wasn't awful. 5/10

Jack White: Blunderbuss: This is an album. Its fine, I enjoyed every song, its not interesting at all. Just fine music. 6/10

Van Halen: Van Halen: This shit rocks. Its a LITTLE samey, but the song quality is so high I really don't care, and the first half actually has some pretty good variety. The songs are just so much fun and have so much energy its basically impossible to dislike them. 9.5/10

Tangerine Dream: Phaedra: On one hand, this is some cool experimental electronic music for the time. On the other, its boring as shit and doesn't really go anywhere interesting. Its kinda just a lot of sounds put together. It is not cohesive, interesting, or enjoyable. It is not absolutely awful, I guess, but it is not for me. Pretentious comes to mind. 4/10

David Bowie: Low: A pretty cool and varied album. It feels experimental, and it mostly sticks the landing, though some parts do feel like he was just trying things out for the hell of it. A lot more of an instrumental album than I expected, but it is pretty good. Pretty enjoyable and pretty out there, it has my respect. 8/10

Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works 85-92: I can respect this, but its a little too repetitive and droning for my tastes. There are some very cool sounds used, but this is just too much for me. I can't really see myself ever wanting to listen to a lot of these songs, but this isn't junk either. 5.5/10

Grateful Dead: Live/Dead: This shit is really boring. There are some decent sounds, but they go nowhere and it just DRAGS. It makes it really hard to listen to the entire album. I have no idea how people enjoy this, honestly. Some parts of this album are just pretentious garbage, and even the better parts sound like if other 60s bands just dragged out their songs for an absurd amount of time. I really do not care for this. 3.5/10

Green Day: Dookie: I really wanted to make this review simply, "Dookie" and then the rating, but while I do not love this album, it isn't awful. Its just not my thing, but it isn't garbage. His vocals are the worst part, but they aren't like awful just eh. I did not like any song enough to add them to my playlist but like they're fine. The album is fine, pretty whatever, reeks of the 90s, but I didn't really enjoy it either. The last song is really bad, but its also a joke. Not for me! 5/10

Hawkwind: Space Ritual: Its a fairly solid album. Pretty cool sounding psychadelic rock, with shockingly heavy riffs for the time. It is, however, VERY long and as a result, very repetitive. Would have been pretty cool if it was less of the same stuff. The audio quality is also fairly meh as a result of it being a live album from the 70s. I could see myself liking this band a decent bit in the studio, though. 7/10

The Band: Music From Big Pink: Pretty standard country rock, not awful but not my thing. 5.5/10

The Who: Who's Next: This is a fine album. It sounds like music from the 60s and 70s and isn't really that remarkable? Its good, but it doesn't stand out aside from Baba O'Riley. Like I enjoyed it, but its just solidly enjoyable and nothing more. 7/10

Miles Davis: Kind of Blue: Dude is doing John Coltrane dirty, bro is featured on every song!!! Its ok though, because this shit is kinda dull for jazz. Some cool sax moments and such, but there's a lot of repetitive moments that meander through the same sounds for a long time. Its not awful, but I have heard much better jazz. 5/10
