Really hard to take this era of political punk seriously after the SNL skit "Punk Band Reunion at the Wedding". This is my first album in the 1001 Albums project and I can already see 10 minutes in I'm going to need to find ways to put myself in whatever milieu the album was released in. I think that may be the entire point of this project and why I want to partake. However, having said that, repetitive punk with one-note political statements is absolutely not my vibe in 2025. That's ok, at least it's not hot new country. Thank god the songs and album are short. Ready to be done half way through.

One of the best albums of all time. 5/5

I consider myself a Kinks fan but, like listening to the Beatles, don't always have patience for these British music hall jingles about working class heroes and ironic longing for the good old days of the empire. I prefer their rock songs about girls and just being a lad. Victoria is great song though.
