Iconic hip-hop album. I'm not a fan of this genre, but I really liked the artists’ naturalness and the influences of other styles, like funk and gospel. I must read the lyrics: obviously they sing too fast for me 😅
Great debut album! 4 out of 10 songs are super famous. They expressed a variety of emotions with simple melodies. It's relaxing listening to them, but in general quite bland for me.
Nice discovery! Dark and energetic
Great voice and crazy stories, but the album is boring
I partially enjoyed the first half of the album (especially The passion of lovers and Dancing), then they lost their focus. Apparently the sounds and the themes of some of these goth and post punk songs inspired the coming artists
One of the greatest jazz album of the last 50 years! Amazing musicians, with a top of the class saxophonist and bassline! Birdland became a standard, known by every jazz player
Sophisticated R&B compositions and orchestra, iconic guitar groove! I'd say people went freak dancing on the hit song in late 70's
Great vocal performance! Dramatic, funny: you can notice a lot of his emotions also thanks to a mix of genres, like hard rock, funk, soul, blues
Great band! You can hear the Beatles' echo. In this album Paul probably played what he intimately wanted
Less wow moments than the album from the other day, with more commercial songs and sounds. Still high level. "Where are we now?" is an amazing ballad
The best jazz solo album ever! The story behind this performance is amazing as well
Somehow they reminded me some songs of The cure and Radiohead. There are several catchy sounds, that are enjoyable and relaxing, but they are followed sometimes by discomforting noises, which I don't like 😅 I would say 2.5
I enjoyed listening to the album. It's very relaxing and I appreciated the samba and blues contaminations
Amazing!!! An important piece of history!
It's a good album, with deep lyrics. It seems a live album, with a lot of energy and hesitation sometimes.
Astonishing voice, that shines in all registers, thanks also to the support of an amazing orchestra. "Son of a preacher man" is the best song
Both aggressive and technical. They are for sure historically important and brave for the future of hip hop, with their social criticism.
Great album! Very mature sounds and some very famous songs!
Nice discovery! So creative!
The combination between the silly and the technical parts of the songs is well crafted
I hate this musical genre. I could listen until half of the album
Easy listening old country music. It contains some enjoyable and funny songs
It is a dense album, with many ideas on the orchestral arrangements. The lyrics are strange and confusing (see Levon), but they leave space for the interpretation. I think it's an high quality work. Tiny Dancer is a masterpiece
I didn't like it very much. I'd use it as background music or, probably, I'd have enjoyed it more while dancing, eheh! Never heard something like this. It's kind of an alternative electronic music
I found it cohesive, but boring
Very energetic to be a solo album! He had something to express. I liked it!
High level dark/gothic rock, but it's too depressing for me: I get sad eheh
Very pleasant and relaxing
I appreciated his flow and the general vibe, but I should get more into the lyrics for his social criticism
Nice example of post-punk for a debut album
Pleasant album. There are some musically elevated songs, such as River Man. It's a sort of evolution of old country, but a bit depressing
Unique voice! An album that is between dark and full of pathos, with deep lyrics and some climaxes. Nevertheless, I was not very much involved in this certain atmosphere
One of my favourite musical genre. Sinatra has a magic voice
