Popular Reviews

Palo Congo by Sabu

I am just a white guy from Western Europe so what do I know but I can not appreciate this album unfortunately. The conga drums are fine until they use it for 40 minutes straight. Terrible vocals that border on screaming (though this does make it more authentic-feeling so that's good I guess) combined with nothing really interesting going on whatsoever makes me not be able to really give it any points.

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu

I cannot stand the way this guy sings at all. Occasionally I might stumble on a part I like only for it to be broken by either the vocals or random noisy bullsh*t nuh-uh.

Aja by Steely Dan

semi-pinnacle of vibe-music

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Nov 20 2025

I always like songs about history, especially if it is about the ugly sides of history. This album has so many different stories of wars and you can feel the bitterness and sadness in the songs. Problem is, I simply do not love the songs song-wise. I love the concept, I like the lyrics but I always like songs like these to have more feistiness, some anger, some fight in them. I would listen to this while in bed staring at the ceiling but would rarely play the entire album in any other scenario. Some of the songs I also just simply did not like (looking at you 'England').

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Nov 21 2025

Very nice and easy to listen to, just an album you can play while doing other stuff. Love the vibe and also a fan of hip-hop so yknow, right up my alley :). It is rather lengthy, which would be fine if the songs would be very recognizably different but they aren't. I would still occasionally put this album on loop tho.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Nov 22 2025

little funky, but nothing else really to it. Can't fully appreciate his voice either to be honest. It's ok, but would never listen to this myself.

Bossanova by Pixies
Nov 23 2025

This one is so hard to rate. It has some absolute bangers, which for me are for sure the opening track "Cecilia Ann" and the tracks "Velouria", "Allison" and "Is She Weird". The problem is a lot of the rest of the album has songs that I do not really love. The songs I mention make me want to give it a 5 but since those together are not even close to half of the album I am going to leave it at a 4

Nov 24 2025

Yes it is nice to listen to, probably especially when high. Specific parts of specific songs are very good and take you on a trip but I can't rate it any higher because the majority of the album is just "good" imo.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Nov 25 2025

good shit. Not a single song I would say I dislike and 3 (maybe 4) songs out of 8 I would say are very good. Longer instrumentals are usually not my thing but my god this album slaps. 4 songs I would rate a 5 and the others are a 4 or 4.5. It's either a very high 4 or my first 5 and I'm choosing the latter

Imagine by John Lennon
Nov 26 2025

I feel like I got too many people around me that hate this guy for me not to be influenced by them. I don't really like any songs apart from crippled inside though.

Time (The Revelator) by Gillian Welch
Nov 27 2025

I mean, it's nice on the ears? Mundane lyrics (especially because 90% of them get repeated 3 times) and doesn't do anything special in regards to instrumental either. I don't love folk or country (which this is kind of a blend of, but mostly folk I guess), but I don't really hate either of them either. But this simply gets very boring after a while with the repeating lyrics, folk will have to have good lyrics or producing/instrumentals to appeal. This has neither in my opinion, but she does have the calming voice down pat. ( I did like the first and last songs of the album somewhat, but that isn't enough to redeem the album for me )

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Nov 28 2025

Don't love folk music and this is the second album in a row in this genre. I like his voice, it's very soothing. Just like with other folk music, it can be saved by lyrics for me and the lyrics in this album are pretty ok. I would likely never listen to this album myself still, this kind of folk music is just not my thing, too monotone.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Nov 29 2025

The meaning and history of this album alone are incredible. Jazz is the kind of music which give me thoughts of 'I should maybe listen to this in my free time in the background more often' when I hear in a cafe or bar, but never do. I kind of had the same feeling with this album. Now, I do agree with some reviews saying that the songs are a little too long and you can probably shave off the first and last couple of minutes from the songs. Yes, it is very nice to listen to, but at some point it just gets repetitive and gets drowned out in my head, so to speak. The parts with lyrics I liked (I might have a bias to political music, and this hits hard). Would not hate listening to this more often but would rarely select this album to play when I need to decide what to listen to. Normally I would hesitate giving this a 3 and maybe give it a 2 but the meaning behind it makes me give it a solid 3.

Nov 30 2025

To preface: First album of Johnny Cash I ever heard. When it comes to music I like a little bit of upbeat or swingy music way more than sad songs or ballads. However, if I am a stickler for something music-related it is when stories are woven into the music in a great lyrical way. The stories of the songs are beautiful and Cash his voice brings them over in a such a great way. Now, of course I cannot give this album the full lyrical and story-based credit because these are almost all covers. But bringing it in a way like Cash does I will still give it a 4/5. I love this voice and the way it carries the emotion of the lyrics.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Dec 01 2025

Let me preface this by saying that not a single one of the songs on this album I actively dislike. I think the majority of this album is a 3/5 for me with some of it's songs being a 4/5. Her voice is incredible of course, no argument there, but the music is simply not fully my cup of tea unfortunately. I did like the 2 parts this album had and honestly found myself enjoying the second part of the album more than the first. Waking the witch and Jig of Life both have made their way into my playlist. I don't think I would think to myself in the future 'hey let's put on this album in it's entirety', but I will vibe along with most songs when they are being played (and trust me, I have a certain someone in my life that WILL make me listen to this A LOT throughout my life).

Dec 02 2025

This album feels incredibly hard to rate because of it being a double record and the first half being just so much better than the second in my opinion. Side Note: I fucking love the piano When the first 5/6 songs were done playing I thought to myself this might get a pretty high rating if it keeps up. It didn't. My god there's a lot of songs I consider to be filler, just songs that kill all momentum when listening to the album. The final songs made me want to skip through them instead of listening to them. If the album was only the first record/first 7 songs then it could've been a very high 4 Unfortunately I am rating an album and not only the best songs of said album. The length of the album, and the amount of songs that drag the album needlessly to said length, made me go all the way down to a 3 sadly. (would give a 3.5 if possible)

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
Dec 03 2025

Holy shit some of these songs are abysmal to listen to. C.T.A. - 102 and Mind Gardens are torture to my ears. Not a single song here I truly am a huge fan of, all of my ratings of the songs are below a 4. The highest songs being a 3.75 (7.5/10) with My Back Pages. The voices are nice to listen to and I like the melody and instrumentals until they go absolutely apeshit. Half of the album is a 3 and half the album is a 1.

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Dec 04 2025

The Bee Gees might, in fact, need disco. This is, so far, the most boring and plain album I've listened to. My God man, the lyrics, instrumental and voice are all so zzzzzzzzzzz. It's giving absolutely nothing, and even worse, became annoying to listen to at times. Also no disco Bee Gees album on this list wtf.

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Dec 05 2025

The opening track is an anxiety attack in a bottle. Afterwards we have the second track which is my favorite of the album and one I actually really like. After that we have a bunch of songs, some I somewhat like, some I somewhat dislike. This one is hard to rate, I would give it a 2.5 but I can't unfortunately. I would probably never think to play this album in it's entirety again and if it is being played I would probably switch it to something else after the first half of the album is done playing, so I'm giving it a 2.

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Dec 06 2025

Just like with the previous Elton John album: Sounds nice but that's about it. Lyrically not crazy, but very nice to listen to nonetheless. You wouldn't catch me saying 'oh let's listen to an Elton John album' very often unfortunately, but I don't mind it playing in the background.

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Dec 07 2025

Atmospherically a masterpiece. Some songs just put you in a trance where you can close your eyes and bop your head. Some songs I found rather boring but that's the minority, and even those I would not necessarily mind listening to.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Dec 09 2025

hard one to rate, but I will go with a high 3 instead of a 4 after revisiting this album. Just too many songs I would skip after hearing them in my playlist for a while. Still love the album.

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub
Dec 10 2025

I mean it's ok, it simply didn't do anything at all to pull me in.

Ctrl by SZA
Dec 11 2025

Not a big fan of r&b. The autotune is kind of annoying sometimes and the third song is terrible imo. Not great lyrically and definitely not vocally unfortunately

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Dec 12 2025

Yes I know its Kanye. Some of the lyrics were so dumb they were funny but I vibed with the music, as I usually do with hip-hop. Good listen, saved a decent amount of songs to my playlist so a solid 4.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Dec 13 2025

Some very nice tunes, but nothing completely crazy. Nice to listen to in the background but not a ton of songs I consider very strong playlist-material.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Dec 14 2025

Mostly boring though calming and tranquille enough for me to give it a 2. Barely.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Dec 16 2025

So chill to listen to (despite some of the lyric of course), I just want to lie in a hammock with a cocktail in my hand listening to the waves of the ocean while listening to this pondering about life.

Palo Congo by Sabu
Dec 17 2025

I am just a white guy from Western Europe so what do I know but I can not appreciate this album unfortunately. The conga drums are fine until they use it for 40 minutes straight. Terrible vocals that border on screaming (though this does make it more authentic-feeling so that's good I guess) combined with nothing really interesting going on whatsoever makes me not be able to really give it any points.

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Dec 19 2025

Good tunes. Feels a little dated and repetitive at times maybe but still fine.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Dec 20 2025

Sounds nice, soothing but strong. Not crazy about any song but as an album it's simply a nice listen.

Trio by Dolly Parton
Dec 21 2025

It's ok? Sounds are nice, but nothing all too special imo. Wouldn't truly mind listening to this but really has to fit the mood I am in I guess. A high 2 or a low 3 but since there's no song I really actually care about that much I guess a 2 is fitting

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Dec 22 2025

I cannot stand the way this guy sings at all. Occasionally I might stumble on a part I like only for it to be broken by either the vocals or random noisy bullsh*t nuh-uh.

Low-Life by New Order
Dec 23 2025

some very good parts, some very meh parts. Generally good for background-music.

Shadowland by k.d. lang
Dec 24 2025

Her voice is so soothing and vibey The music is nothing too special and is not something I would actively listen to on many occasions HOWEVER as the album went on I noticed I just simply liked listening to it. I just bobbed my head a little and went along with the music and it was nice. Not a ton of songs as inclusion for my playlist and it's not something I'm crazy about so I'm sticking to a 3.

Heavy Weather by Weather Report
Dec 25 2025

Peak waiting room music. 'really just good as background-music albums' always get either a 2 or 3 for me, I'm giving this a 2 because not once did I lovelove what I was listening to.

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Dec 27 2025

I can appreciate the vocals and the sounds. Vibey, I guess, not really my thing though.

Pornography by The Cure
Dec 28 2025

It's good but sometimes his voice kinda irks me. Like the vibe but it doesn't do enough for me to want to continue listening to it.

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
Jan 17 2026

I mean, it's pop I guess. Most pop albums will probably get a 2 or 3 as it's just good playlist-filler.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jan 18 2026

Ah yes, the fun-vibes kind of hip-hop/rap. Very fun to listen to, and some absolute bangers like It's Tricky, Walk This Way and Hit It Run. Even though I'm a huge fan of hip-hop, this feels kind of dated and repetitive. I think it has enough for a 4 though.

Jan 19 2026

Love the lyrics, fine with the music. A high 3 or low 4 but going for the former

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Jan 20 2026

Nice to listen to, but more filler songs than bangers imo.

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Jan 21 2026

I didnt hate it? It started off with earrape which is a choice, but some songs were pretty good. Higher end of a 2 I guess.

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Jan 22 2026

Not once did I think 'oh I actually like this' while listening. Mid at best

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jan 24 2026

Eh I probably wouldn't really care that much for this album if I didn't know about it's history. can appreciate the sound and vibe but it's not really fully my thing sadly

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Jan 26 2026

Boring and don't like his voice here

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jan 27 2026

Every song sounds good, with a few bangers throughout. Not convincing enough for me to give it a 5 though.

Jan 29 2026

It's a nice atmosphere he creates but if I don't see myself playing this ever when I want to listen to music.

Fishscale by Ghostface Killah
Jan 30 2026

I love hiphop, this is the kind that I like to listen to but don't get obsessed over. Most songs are good, some I would rate 4 or 4.5, most I would rate between a 3 and 3.5. High 3.

Shleep by Robert Wyatt
Feb 01 2026

I felt all kinds of dread when I saw 'Psychedelic Rock' after the last album featuring that tag, and glad to know that feeling was a good detector of how much I properly disliked this album.

Sulk by The Associates
Feb 02 2026
Live At Leeds by The Who
Feb 03 2026

Fine. Ok instrumental, sometimes terrible vocals, sometimes good vocals. Yup. 3

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
Feb 04 2026

I actually really like the vibe and tunes and the songs that go more to the metal-side of things are very nice

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
Feb 05 2026

Sounds nice for the most part. Some parts I couldn't give a shit about and others I somewhat dislikes but for the most part it was fine and nice to listen to

Histoire De Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg
Feb 06 2026

It sounds... fine? It definitely sets an atmosphere but not one I particularly love. Nothing special really regarding everything else, doesn't convince me of anything.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Feb 07 2026

Actually really liked the vibe of the songs. Feet-tapping and head-swinging on occasion. Not a single song I disliked really

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Feb 08 2026

Wtf do u want from me bro, cant give this higher than a 1 now can I

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Feb 16 2026

Sounds nice for the most part. Like but not love her voice, like but not love the instrumentals. Like the lyrics. Middle of the road for me so a 3.

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Feb 17 2026

Feels very vanilla, which makes sense because of it's age but I like it nonetheless.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 18 2026

I will probably return to this album after a bit of time has passed to see if I think differently but for now it's nothing too crazy for me. Good sounds with a few songs I liked but also a couple songs I consider more filler. The country feeling I get is very hit-or-miss on some songs as well.

Feb 19 2026

I like this one more than the last Bob Dylan album I got, but the rating stays the same. It's the difference between a 2 and a 2.4, but both round to a 2 I guess. A couple songs I liked with a catchy tune and smooth lyrics/voice, but most of the time his voice is just too nasal and it irks me the wrong way. A couple of songs I like (3 or 4) and the others are either boring, too harmonica-heavy or too nasal for me.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Feb 20 2026

A whole load of songs which I would consider just 'nice'. Nothing truly outstanding but I kinda like his voice. If it had just a little bit more oomph or a wow-factor it would score higher but alas.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Feb 21 2026

I am a bit conflicted with rating this album. Pros: I like his voice, I sometimes like the instrumental and it is simply nice to listen to. Cons? It feels... empty? As if nothing is really being accomplished in some of the songs. Some mumbling, some random lyrics, some 'deep' lyrics which all don't do enough for me to make it a song I'd listen to.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Feb 22 2026

Difficult one to rate because the lyrics were sometimes so incredibly unsettling, but I guess that's the point. I didn't mind the listen for the most part, and some parts I actually actively liked while some others I got that unsettling and 'make it stop man ffs' feeling from.

Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Feb 23 2026

Very forgettable album, albeit fine to listen to. Nothing to hate and nothing to love.

Aja by Steely Dan
Feb 24 2026

semi-pinnacle of vibe-music

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Feb 25 2026

An album that is either a 2 or a 3 and has no possibility to be anything else in my opinion. It is swaye-ey I guess and I listened to this entire album while playing some darts and didn't mind it at all. She has a nice voice as well I guess. It is mostly songs I would classify as filler though to be completely honest. I will rate it a 3 for now but who knows if it stays that way

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Feb 26 2026

if I listen to an album while doing other stuff on my pc or around the house and not once do I think 'hey this part is actually really nice, let me save this song' then it can't get much higher than a 2 unfortunately. It was ok? very funky and easy to listen to but very forgettable all the same.

Feb 27 2026

Very nice sound but sometimes felt like it could use a breather in the first couple of songs. Wouldn't mind this at all if I came across it in a cafe but not a lot of stuff I would revisit.

Feb 28 2026

Good fun and love music that tell stories, even though the stories were a bit too simple but that's kinda the nature of this genre sometimes.

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Mar 01 2026

this album feels like one big trip. I really like it when artists go completely crazy and Kate Bush fits the bill in an eerie way. The melody of the songs and such are great but I am sorry to those who worship her, I don't really love her voice in a lot of these songs to put it mildly. a 3 because I don't dislike it per say and because, as I said, I really like the vibe of these songs at least.

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Mar 02 2026

It's better than the other The Byrds album I got previously, though that's not a very daunting task to achieve. Feels fine, started strong, got boring and felt like a ton of filler-songs afterward but eh, it sounds alright enough.

Illmatic by Nas
Mar 03 2026

if I save almost half of the album I can't really give it any lower than a 4 can I. Love me some hip-hop with lyricism and good flow. Why a 4 not a 5? I just can't imagine me thinking to put this album on a lot on random occasions, which is what I reserve the 5's for.

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
Mar 04 2026

Sure is country. Yep. Hard to refute that. No further notes, thank you, your honor.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Mar 05 2026

Very very fun album, hard to choose between a 3 and a 4. It's not something I'm blown away by and there are definitely songs I would not really care about ever revisiting BUT there are enough songs which are vibey for me to give it a 4 I guess.
