Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Dec 12 2025

12/11/2025 Stoked to get this as my very first pick. This is a fun listen. Mind melting long ass songs and primal screaming and moaning back and forth with the guitar (end of You Shook Me and middle of Dazed and Confused). Goddamn I'm lost in the sauce. 6.5/10

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Dec 13 2025

12/12/2025. FUNKY! If I was lost in the sauce yesterday, I'm out at sea today. 7/10

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Dec 14 2025

12/13/2025. I've listened to this album before but only vaguely remember the titular song. This is clearly a personal and introspective album. Fiona Apple seems so cool but this is my first full album of hers and I don't feel like I know her well enough to peer into this journey and properly appreciate it. It's not resonating with me. (The second half of the album is maybe an improvement; maybe I finally settled in to what is offered.) I trip over my words trying to sing with her and maybe that's the point, you're supposed to be listening. She's more of a poet at heart, I think. This took me on a unique journey but I don't know the odds of listening to it again. My rating increased by 1 point after a second listen. 5/10 Favorite parts: fetch the bolt cutters. you can kick me under the table all you want, i won't shut up! the weird parasocial relationship in newspaper. heavy balloon!

Imagine by John Lennon
Dec 15 2025

12/14/25 This is what I get for complaining about Fiona Apple. Having to listen to a piece of shit wife beater next. "I never meant to hurt you" "how do you sleep at night" giant liar and hypocrite. Unable to listen to this without being angry. 3/10.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Dec 16 2025

12/15/2025: I didn't listen super closely to this one. It was fine, a little boring sometimes. Face songs are The Weight and Chest Fever. 6/10

Dec 17 2025

12/16/25: this was an odd suggestion for a "must-listen" list. Perhaps it was innovative for its time. 2/10

Tuesday Night Music Club by Sheryl Crow
Dec 18 2025

12/17/25: sort of just feeling like bland 90s upbeat pop rock. I don't hate it but I don't know that I would choose to listen to it either. 5/10.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Dec 19 2025

12/18/25: I might be getting soft and/or old. Is this what people mean when they say rock just sounds like noise? They are versatile but I can't see myself listening again. 4/10 but the rat in a cage song alone bumps it to 5/10.

Pornography by The Cure
Dec 20 2025

12/19/25: I know they came before The Killers but since I listened to The Killers first, that's mostly what I hear in terms of vocals. I may have not been in the right headspace to experience this album. Only listened once. Meh? 5/10

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Dec 21 2025

12/20/25 I was vibing! 7/10

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Dec 22 2025

12/21/25 Great album for a car trip day! Breadth of musical talent. 8/10

Horses by Patti Smith
Dec 23 2025

12/23/25 I enjoy the weird things she does with her voice. 7/10

Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers
Dec 24 2025

12/23/2025. Meh, grungy and glammy and not the fun kind. 4/10

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dec 27 2025

12/26/25. Nostalgia makes this a 9/10.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Dec 28 2025

12/27/25. British punk is eh. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. 5/10.

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Dec 29 2025

12/27/25. I didn't mind this. Sounds like a bridge between the doors and the killers. 6/10

Sea Change by Beck
Dec 30 2025

12/29/25. The beginning sounds a little like Coldplay, but mostly a boring album. 4/10

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Dec 31 2025

12/30/25. It was refreshing if for no other reason than to get away from UK punk rock. 7/10

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company

Jan 11 2026

1/11/26. Your flag decal won't get you into heaven anymore, they're already overcrowded from your dirty little war! 8/10

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Jan 12 2026

1/12/26. I was feeling too soft for this album today but still not bad. 6.5/10

Dookie by Green Day
Jan 13 2026

1/13/26. They got a couple good hits out of this one, bit tiring listening to the whole thing though. 5/10

Street Signs by Ozomatli
Jan 14 2026

1/13/26. Enjoyable and different. 6.5/10

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Jan 15 2026

1/14/26. I liked the Arctic Monkeys back in the day, but in this project, the songs all kinda sound the same. 5/10

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jan 17 2026

1/16/25 I don't really know the Beatles. I didn't hate this. 7/10

1/18/25 Not bad to listen to in the background. 6/10

1/26/2026. I'm enjoying the grunge. 7/10

Fifth Dimension by The Byrds
Jan 26 2026

1/26/2026. I need no fruit, I need no rice. I need no sweets nor even bread. I ask for nothing for myself. For I am dead, for I am dead. 6/10

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jan 28 2026

1/27/26: again I didn't realize how many bangers were in this album. First half is amazing then falls off a little bit in the second half. 8/10

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Jan 29 2026

1/28/26: The album title and cover give the vibe of an unsure, self-deprecating dweeb. And then his vocals are a powerhouse. 8/10

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Jan 30 2026

1/29/26: Classic material right there. 7/10

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jan 31 2026
