Good for an energy boost

3.5, some good stuff, some weird stuff

I liked this more than I thought I would

Not as good as their more famous album

Started out great and then it got late 60s Charles Manson weird. Did the Stooges have a cult?

This was pivotal in the 90s rap scene and the production is great, but it’s not something I’d personal return to.

Good not great

Her voice doesn’t need all of the pop production around it, it takes away from it

Such a comforting listen, I’m not usually a country fan but I loved this. The lyricism and song writing is fantastic.

This was great, this is what I think of when I think 90s hip-hop. Lots of texture and color in the production and their voices are distinct.

Sad Bowie is so sad

This is your classic swanky honky tonk type of country. Solid lyrics and true and clear tone and playing.

Honestly couldn’t get through this

Good not great

Some good ol’ Americana Indie. Loved the diverse instrumentation on this album. The singer reminded me of Unknown Mortal Orchestra or Broken Social Scene. 4.5

The album is great but I hate the songs about women, especially raw ramp.

Love the cure but had not thoroughly listened to this album. Such a great variety in their writing that it’s hard not to love.

Still in the process of evaluating why I didn’t like this as much as Neil Young’s so stuff. It didn’t have the same charm.

Nothing more solid than the Rolling Stones

I come back to this album time and time again. Truly goated.

I liked this and had no idea of its existence, sometimes can be too noisy but loved the punk vibe. 3.5

A sound like no other, way ahead of their time

You can tell this album has a defining sound of the decade, great song writing and musicality.

That’s gonna be a no for me dawg. It wasn’t terrible but I did not enjoy.

Has some great hits that I love, but not every song hits the mark

Prefer Green Day’s 00’s stuff

I think this album showcases her voice and creativity the best. Ahead of her time for sure.

Better than many of the classic rock albums I’ve listened to so far, love the wamy bar singing tho

I surprisingly really enjoyed this. It’s quite eclectic and had lots of soul influence but also very piano in an Elton John way, some psychedelic elements, a bit of rock sprinkled it.

Love this and was recommended to me previously. Great lyrics, raw and unbothered vocals, easy to listen

Just what I like, 4.5 stara

The chokehold this album had on my collective university experience… being at a house party and yelling the the lyrics to Backseat Freestyle at the top of our lungs. WIFEY GIRLFRIEND AND MISTRESS

I mean it was better than DOOKIE

It all kinda sounded the same to me except for the Lauryn Hill feature. The lyrics are good 3.5

Solid

Surprised by how many songs I already knew, I just had no idea they were Elvis Costello. 3.5

This was definitely a decade and sound defining band and album, however it’s not something that deeply resonates with me nor do I feel like I’d go back to it

Unfortunately I do like it however I hate Thom Yorke and is terrible values. You cannot separate the art from the artist. Free Palestine.

This was such an interesting listen, very diverse and a great mix.
