Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Jan 12 2026

Most beautiful! America encapsulates youthful love, adventure, longing & melancholy. “Kathy, I said as we boarded the greyhound in Pittsburgh…the moon rose over an open field…I’m empty and aching and I don’t know why… I took a bus cross-country to my beloved and this resonates so deeply.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Jan 13 2026

Every song sounds the same. There is a ZZ Top sound for sure but not for me.

Fragile by Yes
Jan 14 2026

Roundabout Long Distance Runaround Mood for a Day - Renaissance sound Heart of the Sunrise - nice singing Nice contrapuntal sounds, good use of classical influences and incorporating favorite pieces, prog rock - not exactly happy w/high pitched singer but like their sound overall Rococo keyboard by Rick Wakeman

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Jan 15 2026

This is mastery of all elements that defined a generation!!!! Almost every song is a classic. Hey Joe Wind Cries Mary Foxey Lady Are you Experienced Guitar is so beautiful and hallucinogenic - strong and melodic, supple and powerful -had so much emotion. The trio is very powerful and Jimi’s voice is as masterful as his guitar despite not having the full range.

Rock & Roll Girl Storyteller Thrums Life Does grunge like the best of them & writes lyrically Good Fortune - I feel like a bird of paradise - you share in her love story. This Mess We’re In - masterful pairing w/Thom Yorke - builds to a romantic crescendo just like the story being told. Some of the album repeats itself.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jan 18 2026

Lovestory & Friday I’m in Love are so romantically goth. Positive despite the cold. Masterful goth!

Play by Moby

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jan 31 2026

Amazing lyrical mashup of so many genres. I felt the same way ad when I first listened to Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life - this album goes straight to some deep part of the self that recognizes a true visionary.

Feb 01 2026

They break ground here with songs like Bike. Trippy & wild. Shape of things to come for them!

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Feb 02 2026

2 of the greatest songs of all time with instantly recognizable riffs. Keith showing up as the guitar god he is. Lots of new directions being tried here. I was really woved by how great Monkey Man was. Despite all this greatness - not a five or even 4 star for me - the in-between songs drag & are not for me & Midnight Rambler is hella a scary!. I would give it a 3.5 but since there is no half ranking giving it a 3.

So by Peter Gabriel
Feb 12 2026
Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Feb 21 2026

Nina Simone’s voice is like a broken heart speaking - the way she teases out the pain from somewhere that is gut wrenchingly ephemeral and so deep. With every word your soul breaks, history is told and you understand something you can’t explain but is eternal.

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Feb 23 2026

While there is a symphonic grandeur to their music, it ultimately bored me to death!

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Feb 24 2026

While there is a symphonic grandeur to their music, it ultimately bored me to death!

Moondance by Van Morrison
Feb 25 2026

Is there a supermarket, store, restaurant, bodega or cafe where at this very moment the song Moondance isn’t playing it’s sweet tragic and timeless romance? I doubt it! Van Morrison brings such a melding of jazz and folk into his amazing voice - making this album timeless! There are so many 5 star songs on this album - Moondance, & It Stoned Me & Into the Mystic that it should get 5 stars from me -but a couple of songs don’t reverberate in the same way listening anew to this one of my favorite all time albums.

xx by The xx
Feb 27 2026
Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Mar 24 2026

Classic for a Reason! Woodstock generation’s romantic and lyrical & harmony masterpieces!

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Mar 25 2026

Lovely album. It doesn’t break ground for someone like me who loves modern classical music like that of Kenji Bunch. It was very relaxing & a great discovery! Eno has a golden touch!

Green by R.E.M.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
