Popular Reviews

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt

This album is proof that just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. Awful.

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Feb 10 2026

Honestly found this kinda meh. I love some Steely Dan, but this isn't a patch on Aja. 3 Stars.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Feb 11 2026

Tiresome, one-dimensional nose occasionally punctuated by a decent guitar solo. One listen was enough. The idea that this is a must-listen is laughable.

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Feb 16 2026

This album is proof that just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. Awful.

Chore of Enchantment by Giant Sand
Feb 19 2026

Enjoyed this, but found it a little one-paced, which made it kind of a chore to listen to all the way through.

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Feb 22 2026

There's probably a decent 12-song album in here, but unfortunately the majority of the record sounds like a series of half-formed sketches and twee nonsense that make the juice of the occasional highlight not really worth the effort of the squeeze.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Mar 09 2026
The White Album by Beatles
Mar 13 2026

Despite a number of great individual songs, this album felt like a band trying to figure out what comes next--with highly varying degrees of success across the 2 discs. Easily could have cut half the songs and not lost anything in the process. Another way of putting it: if this wasn't an album by the Beatles, I doubt it would have made this project.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Mar 16 2026

Finding albums and artists like this is why I'm doing this project. I think it's (mostly) fantastic, and am looking forward to hearing more of Barry Adamson's back catalog. Having said that, I can also see why some people hate it. It's an uncomfortable listen at times. But it's the only one in my first 40 days of doing this that made me need to learn more about the artist and read other opinions to help me understand what I was listening to.
