1001 Albums Summary

Absolutely nothing to be said that hasn't been already. Favorite Track: Otherside

Fantastic album, fantastic vocals, fantastic composition, everything sounds groovy, it the kind of album you let your kids listen to and they think it's magic Favorite Track: Joy Inside My Tears

Definitely not my cup of tea, but it's clearly well made pop music, and a product of its time. Favorite Track: Dance or Die

Timeless classic, great lyricist, but I don't like her vocals at rapping and that version of Can't Take My Eyes Off of You. Favorite Track: To Zion

I feel like this is a great gateway for a more refined taste in music. All songs are sung from heart, though none has particularly taken my soul. Favorite Track: This Wheel's On Fire

Groovy, but not remarkable like Superfly and What's Going On. Favorite Track: Street Life

Love experimental albums! Not this one though, dropped on the second song

Light-hearted, pop, french

Many very known samples come from this album, which is amazing! Even more so considering not a single one captivated me. Favorite Track: Waiting for the Night Honorable Mention to the last minute of Blue Dress, which may be the best musical composition of the entire album (while not a song by itself)

I like the upbeat tone, it's kinda rare to see those in contemporary music. Fav Track: Heroes and Villains

Charming music, really makes you feel in the late 70's - 80's Fav. Track(tough choice): Heart of Glass

I feel like all songs are a variation of the same riff lol Well, it still rocks...

This is loved by a select few people. And I am not one of them.

This is not something i'd normally like, but the whole point of 1001 Albums generator is probably that. I'm positively surprised about this album, not only is a fairly solid rock composition, the themes are varied and styles are well-explored. Aisha and Alladin's Story are trippy songs within reason, I definitely think Lever Street should've closed the album and Dirge is a opening. I'd call it ewntry-level for psychedelic instrumental rock. Favorite Track: Aisha

Didn't get get into it, but And It Stoned Me and Brand New Day did connect to me. Deserve another hearing. Fav. Track: And It Stoned Me

Absolutely in love with Sarah Vaughan's voice. Favorite Track: September in the Rain

It's a weird, experimental album, which only Talking Heads could pull out, and even making it (somewhat) danceable. Also, I feel safe to say Jack Stauber's melodies had some inspiration on this album, especially Mind. But, I'm not trying to fool anybody here, my favorite track of Fear of Music is definitely Heaven.

Love the lyrics, love the styles choices Favorite track: Message in the Bottle

I really try to like Sonic Youth so bad... Favorite track: Shadow of a Doubt

The first four tracks are great, after that it's just a mush

When Indie rock used to mean something. Fav Track: Sleep on the Left Side

Jump!

Would be a great Tumblr profile, maybe even a good substack writer, but the melodies are just generic. Great lyrics that I wish someone made a somber recording (not the way they did Mrs. Robinson) Drug Buddy is very solid, though Favorite track: Drug Buddy

Well produced, but I can't why is it a timeless classic. Maybe you had to be there to get it. Favorite Track: Purple Rain

Gorgeous, causally intimate, instant classic from the first note to the last harmonica blow. Favorite Track: Motion Pictures

Dream-inducing album. Favorite Track: Free Will and Testament

Iconic songs all round, full of personality, well produced. It's amazing what Blur managed to do at their age.

Raw melodies from heart, I still liked On the Beach more though Fav. Track: Tell me Why

I can see it is well produced and intense. But I found it soulless. Fav. Track: This Apparatus Must Be Unearthed

I can see it is well produced and intense. But I found it soulless. Fav. Track: This Apparatus Must Be Unearthed

Such tasteful music, something to keep going back from time to time Fav. Track: Hazey Jane II

Good, solid album

Delightful introduction to jazz, definitely should be a common ice-breaker: "hey which member of The Dave Brubeck Quartet you reckon did the greatest in Time Out?" Fav. Track: Blue Rondo A La Turk

Again, Kate Bush is a piece of marvel, her albums are a full visual, sound, emotional, dreamy experience. Definitely doesn't vibe with my grumpiness.

Phenomenal tracks, well connected album, but i need muh poetry

Very monotone - as in the same sounding drums and riffs. I suppose you had to be there. Let's Dance gets a quirky ending, so it gets the cake Fav. Track: Let's Dance

Heartful lyrics, good ol' reliable country rock

I whole-heartedly understand everyone that says this album deviates too much from Led Zeppelin I and II, but that's what makes them the greatest rock band ever, well, surely to me they are. Fav. Track: Since I've Been Loving You

This album is adorable. I wish I was there with Paul Simon to watch how he comes up with those songs and lyrics. It's all both intimate and ficctional, which reminds me a lot of James Clayton style of writing, and in many ways also reminds me of how Hideo Kojima comes up with ideas to enrich his games. I don't believe the melodies are catchy by themselves, I thorougly felt like the album wanted me to pay attetion to the stories it was unveiling, which is the complete opposite to what Bryter Layter made me feel haha

wtf Fav. Track: the one that says war sucks. It really does.
