adore Bowie with all my heart, but im a bit biased 'cause it's not my favorite album of his. still legendary though

tbh at first was ready to write it off as dad rock but somewhere around the middle of the album i changed my mind. guitar solos are just FILTHY, lyrics are tight, and the jazz elements are the icing on the cake

the feats are decent and that's the only nice thing I'll say. this is the most default-sounding early 00s female rap imaginable. beats are forgettable, lyrics are nothing special, and it all sounds exactly like you'd expect it to sound p.s. "this is another missy elliott exclusive...🫦🫦" — yeah, dear, wish it wasn't 😭

Figure 8 and Because are stuck in my head — can't stop coming back to them even if I can't explain why they are so good. They just hit different? Well, the rest... Solid Elliott Smith, beautifully made! I really liked this album. But something's missing, can't put my finger on it. Left me waiting for more? still processing tbh

my first time listening to Prince and... well, it's fine I guess? very disco-pop, very dancefloor energy, which is cool if you're into that, but I'm just not. for me, most of the tracks were okay. some moments caught my ear, won't pretend there's absolutely nothing here at all. don't know about the other albums but now — no notes, just not mine
