Apr 04 2026

This is embarrassing but I’ve only heard Respect before- god I was missing out. The talent, the love, the romance??? Amazing.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Apr 05 2026

Summer breeze was the highlight and I really loved the interview- I think this would’ve been 5 stars if I wasn’t comparing it to yesterday’s!

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Apr 06 2026

It’s cool to learn where a lot of famous samples came from! A little too one-note for me though

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Apr 07 2026

I can go either way on live albums, but this really added to it! I think I’m not a huge blues guy though. This was still really catchy and fun.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Apr 08 2026

Makes me think of summer, calling your friends on landlines, and what it was like to have friends and neighbors before the iPhone age. Also realizing the supreme debt owed by all the 2020’s hip hop artists I listen to.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Apr 10 2026

Sympathy for the Devil is probably one of my all-time favorite songs but the rest of this album didn’t hold up for me.

Metallica by Metallica
Apr 11 2026

As a metalhead this is foundational- heavy, skillful and powerful. It’s not five stars because ironically I prefer a lot of Metallica covers to actual Metallica songs; near the end all I could think about was Miley Cyrus’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’.

Play by Moby
Apr 12 2026

Perfect balance of catchy and atmospheric! South Side was probably the first trip hop song I really liked years ago and the rest of the album 100% holds up.

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
Apr 13 2026

The difference between Van Morrison’s live and studio energy is really big- I think I prefer his studio albums more but this was still very easy listening.

Debut by Björk
Apr 14 2026

Not liking Björk is my generation’s version of men not liking Yoko Ono…so it gives me great pain to admit I don’t really enjoy her vocals. I’m so sorry Björk your outfits are always fire though

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Apr 15 2026

Perfectly fine Rock and Roll- a good reminder of why it was banned/had so many social objections at the time

Blood And Chocolate by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Apr 16 2026

Very middle of the road for me!

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Apr 17 2026

Only knew them for the disco- but really enjoyed this one on the drive to work! I also told the really scary site super at one of my jobs about listening club and he sang me one of the songs off this album acapella. It was surreal

Dummy by Portishead
Apr 18 2026

I feel like this is a fantastic album for a very very specific mood, but it’s too thin to have listening to it be your only activity. Unfortunately makes me think of the nonzero number of weird sexual encounters it has probably scored too

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Apr 19 2026

Everyone get more weird this instant

Post Orgasmic Chill by Skunk Anansie
Apr 20 2026

I usually really like this genre, but something in a lot of the tracks didn’t really hit for me. Skin has an amazing voice though!

Electric by The Cult
Apr 22 2026

Pleasant classic rock! I know I’m saying a lot of these are middle of the road, but once again this album was catchy and perfectly fine.

Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab
Apr 23 2026

Great album for desk work/studying! Not quite lofi but very easy listening- the kind of thing I want on at a coffee shop or maybe a club when it’s closing.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Apr 24 2026

Really pleasant! Made me think about the level of skill it takes to sit down and play a piano for this long.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Apr 25 2026

I don’t usually enjoy or really understand jazz, but this was very fun!

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Apr 26 2026

The big songs from this album are classics for a reason, but again I’m running into the ‘all the songs kind of sound the same’ wall.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Apr 27 2026

I looooove new wave and talk talk talk is required listening. Been very angsty this month and this album was just what I needed

Live! by Fela Kuti
Apr 28 2026

This is what I want from live albums! Absolutely spectacular

Justified by Justin Timberlake
Apr 29 2026

Was catchy but gave me the ick big time

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
Apr 30 2026

Incredibly wide range for one album- I liked some songs more than others but as a whole really enjoyed it! In a word: moving.

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
May 01 2026

Very funky, very 90s, enjoyed about 50% of it

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
May 02 2026

I was only really familiar with message in a bottle before this- this is a solid album! It is also funny to see Sting with this much hair on the album cover.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
May 03 2026

The first half of this album was a bop, the second half just got on my nerves a little

Infected by The The
May 04 2026

I used to play The The a lot on my new wave radio show, but I feel like Infected is kind of horny in a sinister way.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
May 05 2026

I’ve never listened to this much soundgarden at once- made me realize some doom metal and punk influence id never noticed before! Very pleasant

For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music
May 06 2026

This was a thinker! I kind of love ‘songs about dances that aren’t line dance songs’ as a genre so a fun first track. As a whole though, I felt like the album jumped around a little too much to be more than the sum of its parts. This whole listening experience has given me a new appreciation for entire album runs!

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
May 07 2026

Listening to this album was like soaking in a hot spring I feel healed

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
May 10 2026

Incredibly weird retro sleaze that managed to bust out a slutty baseline every time I was about to turn it off for being annoying.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
May 12 2026

This made me kind of emotional! I’m not usually an acoustic guy but I loved this it was so pretty.

The Coral by The Coral
May 13 2026

Really could not place the genre on this one- I enjoyed it!

Vulnicura by Björk
May 15 2026

I will be honest I could not finish- I’m sorry Björk. Extra star bc the instrumentals were very moving

Amnesiac by Radiohead
May 16 2026

Very one note but Radiohead makes great ‘soundtrack’ albums!

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
May 17 2026

Groove so strong I can’t believe I’m still standing- Chameleon was the highlight for me.

Lost Souls by Doves
May 18 2026

Really great moody indie!

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
May 19 2026

For whatever reason I really preferred are you experienced to electric ladyland

Blackstar by David Bowie
May 20 2026

I was familiar with the story of the album and Lazarus, but not the rest of the track list. Bowie is truly the master of the concept album, and Blackstar is so funky and so, so sad- but surprisingly joyful.

Soul Mining by The The
May 21 2026

First wave is my fav genre and this album is great!!! I used to play it on my radio show :)

Hot Fuss by The Killers
May 23 2026

All bangers

Illmatic by Nas
May 24 2026

Some bars are definitely dated but for the most part the pure talent and creativity on this album just fantastic.

Among The Living by Anthrax
May 25 2026

It’s so cool to learn more about the original influences for thrash metal! Not my usual casual listening choice but very nice.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
May 26 2026

I think the problem with being the group that made the wall is that all your other albums will be compared to the wall. This was good but a little slow for me!

Viva Hate by Morrissey
May 28 2026

Everyday is Like Sunday is my favorite Morrissey song, but he definitely has better solo albums. Wish half stars were an option

Moon Safari by Air
May 29 2026

SOOOOO 90’s omg- I need to go to a coffee shop in a Lycra turtleneck so I can listen to this again

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
May 30 2026

Move over divorced dad music, this is divorced mom music.

May 31 2026

I like War better but U2 are legendary for a reason!

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jun 01 2026

Catchy and classic! Not loving the misogyny though

The Score by Fugees
Jun 02 2026

Often imitated, never replicated!

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line
Jun 03 2026

I love post hardcore! Listening to this album made me want to pick up bass again.

Jun 07 2026

So good! I really like this genre and I tend to enjoy it even more in the rare instances when they have frontwomen.
