Popular Reviews

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters

One of the flattest albums I've listened to in a long time. Weenie Beanie is the only standout.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
May 08 2026

Killer stuff! Really feels like an exploration of women's relationships with each other. Dolly don't miss.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
May 09 2026

Never made it through a whole Dylan album before. Wanna put it through a couple more listens to focus on the lyrics, but great instrumentation and pretty seamless album given the length.

1984 by Van Halen
May 11 2026
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
May 12 2026

I should probably be less judgy of a lot of classic rock. This is a good album I wouldn't have expected to like, but it was pretty good. really liked the dual rhythm guitars on Fooled Again. but American Girl is the real standout for a reason. Solid 5/10, good to listen to, but I'm not going back to it very often.

May 13 2026

I like it, solid album, some nice guitar work and fun tunes. Don't expect to revisit often.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
May 14 2026

Good. That first song has a killer bass line I should learn. Listened at work and didn’t pay a ton of attention

Eagles by Eagles
May 15 2026

Shout out Big Lebowski

Zombie by Fela Kuti
May 19 2026

Love the horns on this! Fela's sax work is incredible, and the shots of brass have such a great texture. Bass is just a bit hypnotic and breaks the mold every once in a while, to perfect effect.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
May 20 2026

Love the 3-day run of Springsteen-Fela Kuti-this. Really living up the saxophone! This is probably my favorite in that regard. I absolutely all the space the sax is given to be light and airy. The dynamics of it really show how great the range of timbres is. Love some Bossa Nova and almost never listen to it. This is gonna be on repeat quite a bit.

New Wave by The Auteurs
May 22 2026

Its aight. I did like the jangly guitar

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
May 23 2026

Damn, who knew the Beastie Boys were good

LP1 by FKA twigs
May 24 2026
Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
May 27 2026

Love hearing another version of Coat of Many Colors. Also just a wonderful and gorgeous record.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Jun 01 2026
Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by The Residents
Jun 03 2026

It's cool to see a bit of a different side of early no wave, but I think there's as many hits as misses. It doesn't have a deep enough atmosphere to feel like I'm losing myself in it, but it also doesn't feel focused or energetic enough to build that anxious energy something like Buy the Contortions has. 3/5

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Jun 04 2026

No Loveless, but still that wonderful warm, sad, fuzzy blanket of an album

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jun 09 2026

Kinda goofy, a great basis for further synth music, but I don't know if it's aware it's goofy. Just kinda aight.

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jun 11 2026

First listen was meh, but I like it. The samples are symple but are DJ’d well with some cool expressive moments

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Jun 17 2026

Some cool stuff, some meh stuff. Liked Legs a lot

Gasoline Alley by Rod Stewart
Jun 19 2026

Really liked this. Reminds me that the blues can just be fun. Last song didn’t need to be there. 3.5/5

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Jun 20 2026

Almost gave this a 2 for being a bland, flat, boring blues record. But a second listen with headphones really helped it out. Gonna give it a 4 for benefit of the doubt, but probably more of a strong 2

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Jun 22 2026

One of the flattest albums I've listened to in a long time. Weenie Beanie is the only standout.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jun 23 2026

Great vibes, creates a fantastic space. Really cool to have this be the pick so close to Olivia Rodrigo's new album. That takes a lot of timbral and songwriting cues from this but loses a lot of the production that makes this really moody.

Jun 24 2026

Liked it. Wanted a touch less American stuff but it's not really fair to judge it on what I wanted when I liked what I got.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 25 2026

The goat. Literally kicked a trashcan when it didn't win AOTY at the Grammys

Signing Off by UB40
Jun 26 2026

Really cool to sit with some Dub. Had a great time!

Jun 27 2026

Like listening to a mental breakdown. Incredibly effective and deeply uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate Em has become the lots of complicated words guy cause when he just cuts right to it he nails it.

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
Jun 28 2026

Pretty entertaining take on 60s psychadelia. Fun

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 30 2026
Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jul 02 2026

Win Butler has made a career of singing about neighborhoods and phones bad. This is one of the good ones about neighborhoods. He has also been in a lot of NBA celebrity all-star games. He is good at that. He is bad at saying phone bad.

Jul 08 2026

Felt more like an aesthetic exercise than anything. I think they just dive too deep into the whole sci-fi thing. But every once in a while it really works. Bellamy does pull out some great melodies.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Jul 10 2026

Just straightforward good punk. Love hearing the OG For the Love of Ivy. I didn't know the Japandroids version was a cover, but hearing the more adventurous original was pretty sick
