1001 Albums Summary

A quick listen, not the biggest fan of his voice but the musical side was easy in the ears. Love a good long close to an album, but seems like there could have been more to give than 40 minutes

Aretha has so much talent but is limited by technology of the time, her vocals stand out a lot over the musical aspect but still blends well across the album. Respect is iconic, but will say it does not stand out against the rest of the album

Not the most invested listening to this one, listened twice to try and get a better feel. Easy listening but nothing stood out to me.

First one on this list I had previously listened to. Personally, this is Muse best album, it has a common sound thread across the album that gives it cohesion while also giving each song a unique taste and flavor. There is a bit of rawness to their sound that refines over time, but it’s that same distinction that makes it stand out.

Iconic to say the least, one of those you look back to as a pivotal point in music history. I remember listening the Walk this Way growing up and not knowing the Aerosmith version existed. The meat and potatoes of each song feels similar but the chorus is the full banana split, chocolate cherries the works. Unforgettable.

No notes, the ideal kick push albums. Something that hasn’t been done of the time, it captured the essence of chill, funk, punk, and rap at the same time. An anthem of sorts for certain areas, particularly the skate genre

A surprising good listen for me, sounds very Bob Dylan with vocals you can understand.

Kind of has an identity crisis on what to sound like. Fold, gospel, soft rock; sure they are related but was hard to figure it out.

I really don’t know where to start on this album, it’s iconic for the hits. It just comes off choppy, there are some clean transitions and clarity to the narrative being told, and I know the OutKast dynamic is part of their stick, but just was off to me.

Great fun listen, early on in this adventure and really enjoying something new and different.

A good background album to get some things done, did some chores and packed for a trip listening. Very groovy kept the vibe up
