1001 Albums Summary

Symppathy for the Devil is one of my favorite songs. The rest were too country for my taste.

Heroes is a great song, the rest were kinda meh

She can sing any genre and the boldness of her lyrics, especially 4 women was striking.

This album is very Steely Dan and that's all not exceptional you hear it and go yup that's Steely Dan

How to describe Steely Dan ? Prog jazz? Yacht funk? A very different style All of their best songs on one album

I went college in a city with a thriving local music scene and many of my favorite bands sounded just like this. The first song reminded me of Emmett Otters Jugband

It was hendrix

Imy sister was in the Columbia record club and we had this one on cassette!!

The music is very good, but the lyrics are a little simplistic. I mean the bully sings " I'm the bully"! Also, is tommy Jesus?

That was definitely Tom Waits. Not my cup of tea

A deeply spiritual and heartfelt collection Dolly was a brilliant song writer

Zeppelin=meh

Absolutely love this album!!!

Soul Brother #1

Why is this average dance album on the list of "must listen to"?

LOVE Pixies!!!

Fascinating to realize that half the band were white in the early 60s. Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn played with the blues brothers

Generic punk rock. Sounds like the music from a party scene in a John Hughes movie. Why is it on this list?

What the hell is this? I've never heard of this band

What the fuck? How did this make a list of essential?
