Musically impressive, flow of the album was perfect; pretty standard rock template album. Songs didn’t really stick out because of the flow save for a couple of the big ones. Will revisit sometime, but not in any rush
Solid album. very slow paced and depressing topics. Not the biggest fan, none of the songs are anything I would need to come back to. Sounds good and can see why it has fans. REM isn’t a band I love hearing. Lots of songs start sounding the same
Starts off very strong, flows nicely, sounds great. Album length hurts it. Feels a bit too long, start sounding the same. Would go back and listen again. Musically it’s great, nice production and sound
Not for me. Some interesting instrumental pieces here and there, but nothing to make me want to come back. I like the big songs by them, but this album had none of the blockbusters. Not the biggest metalhead and this one doesn’t catch my interest much.
Classic old school hip hop. Beats are on point, really fun and memorable samples. Rapping surprisingly holds up. A couple tracks haven’t aged well and are skips, but you have some of the biggest songs of this era here
One my favorite songs of hers opens this album and the first side of this album is solid country. Just feels like it looses itself in the second half with not as many strong numbers. This is more of a me problem because I don’t really love albums that are disjointed singles compiled together which a lot of early country and rock albums had this issue. Would go back and listen again though
I get that it’s supposed to be tongue in cheek but it’s not very interesting. Same sounds throughout the album, vocals are trash to me, lyrics aren’t clever. Couple songs that I enjoyed but would not come back to this. Don’t think this my genre in general
I thought the 90 minute runtime would be too much but this has to be close to the perfect 90 minutes of music. Such a fun joyous album with some of his greatest hits. Really amazing what he did during this 3 album cycle
Classic, original rock. Nothing much to it. He had a voice like no other and it really stands out here. Not so much an album but collection of singles. I understand its importance in rock, but a lot of it just washes over you. Big hits aren’t here yet but it’s cool to hear the beginnings

Pretty average to me. Have tried to get more into this band but outside of a few songs they just don’t do it for me. I get they’re pioneers in post punk but others have come along and done it so much better. A lot of these albums feel like you had to be there to really appreciate what it did for music, but not all of them stand the test of time
Very beautiful voice and amazing music. Wish it wasn’t a compilation, feel like some of her strongest songs aren’t on this album. But I do appreciate it introducing me to her music and more classic bossa nova/Brazilian jazz
Some classics on here but a good 40-50% of this album has aged terribly. Kim alone knocked off a star for me. So tired of hip hop skits having sex skits. Good beats and samples
Incredible final album. Some great covers that have become classics. Can’t really give 5 stars to an album of covers, but it’s amazing what people are capable of at the last stages of their life. To give this kind of performance is inspiring

Pretty fun record. Lesser talked about brit pop band, but they’ve consistently put out some good records. Really enjoy this baggy/madchester sound. Little long and didn’t really know how to end but great record.
No one will touch the run of albums Bowie had in the 70s/early 80s. Just so much creativity and risk taking for a pop/rock act. Pushing what can be in popular music. To put out a mostly instrumental back half of a pop album and it being engaging and interesting is awesome to hear. Really set the standard for pop acts and any album with the song Heroes alone is 5 stars
If I’m going to rate it, I have to listen and this took two days to get through. Ridiculous that you would put a 3 hour compilation album as an essential listen. And not even her best songbook collection! I feel none of these songs actually showcase what a phenomenal and innovative jazz singer Ella was. Anyone with a pretty voice can sing these boring songs. These are just some of the hokiest songs and calling 3 plus hours of it essential listening is just stupid. None of this has had a lasting impact on music, so many better Ella albums/collaborations you could have chosen from. Awful. Especially when there are so few women on this list you choose an album only insufferable people will say is good listening. Really did her a disservice
Great 90s rap. Beats are on point and they’re just having a good time with this album. First two albums are classics and not something you hear anymore in modern hip hop/rap. Just a smooth record from start to finish
This album did nothing for me. Sounded fine and inoffensive, but just complete background noise after a while. Not actively bad, but not interesting enough to really listen to
Really beautiful and unique voice. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would. Never gave her a listen before, but will be looking into more of her work.
A powerhouse album more than decade into his career and (along with his prior album) out of left field from his previous output. Really cool to see his creative output during this period, not clinging to that raw, hard sound of the stooges. A few strange song choices but he’s trying different things here and for the most part it’s killer
Prefer Folsom to this one. Felt weirdly disjointed and is known more for its vibe than the actual songs. A lot of crowd interaction that gets in the way of the songs. Didn’t listen to the legacy edition. Seems weird to include a legacy/expanded edition.
The best of the britpop acts. Pulp was above the rest during the 90s. Perfect album from start to finish.

I go back and forth on this album. It’s a great recording but not something I’m always interested in or drawn too unlike a lot of other of his works. Usually start feeling the album into the second song and really enjoyed it on this listen

A little hard to get into at first, but what a depressing/scary album once you’re in it. Really interesting music and crazy that this made it into the mainstream, popular culture. Never really gave NIN much of a listen, but this makes me want to go into their early 90s work
Strong 2.5-3. Really not interesting of an album at all. Some cool music is its redeeming factor
