Throwing Muses by Throwing Muses

I really liked this, so much that I looped it around and listened to it again. 4 for now and who knows, it might upgrade to a 5 later on. This album also inspired me to listen to Throwing Muses other work which I am enjoying as well.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf

You could probably use this music to torture people

First time listening to this album straight through even though I've heard about half the songs individually before. Like most Beatles albums, I feel like their music is better listened to in a variety playlist. It makes it kind of hard to rate the album because overall, it's a big "this is average", but there are some great songs on here and it feels very "classic". Decent highs, low lows. Favorites: With a Little Help from my Friends, She's Leaving Home, Within You Without You, Lovely Rita, A Day in the Life Song that made me suffer: Good Morning Good Morning 3 stars: some fun songs, would listen to some songs again, but probably never as a whole album

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Aug 21 2026

Never heard of album or artist, so going in totally fresh. First impressions are that it's ok. Peaceful, emotional, poetic lyrics, lots of religious imagery. Not sure I would ever listen to this again, but it felt worthwhile to experience and I wouldn't be annoyed to hear it again. It fell into the background for me, not really in a good or a bad way. Favorite song: Suzanne  2 Stars: ok, not annoying, wouldn't ever choose to put on again

Moondance by Van Morrison
Aug 22 2026

3 stars almost leaning 4: Some really nice songs on here that I would listen to again. This might upgrade to a 4 with additional listens, but I guess part of the reason it gets is 3 is that I am not that keen on doing additional listens. If this album was on while I was cooking or something it would be pleasant, but I am not sure that I'd ever choose to put it on. I don't think I'd pick it up at the record store.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Aug 23 2026

By name alone, I wasn't familiar with this artist, but of course as soon as I heard the titular track, I recognized it. I really enjoyed this whole album, I love how it is all instrumental. Captures a specific vibe and I'd definitely purchase this album if I ever saw it.

I somehow had never listened to The Smiths before this. I really enjoyed this album, I wish I could do 4.5 stars but I'll settle for 4 for now. Might bump up to 5 one day.

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Aug 25 2026

I hadn't listened to Elliott Smith before, so went in with an open mind. Didn't love it, though some songs were not entirely unpleasant. Favorite song: Everything Means Nothing To Me

Trio by Dolly Parton
Aug 27 2026

I am sure this is a great album for people who get more enjoyment from this genre. All my ratings and rankings are really just my personal feelings and opinions so that is why this is so low. I love Dolly Parton's voice, and some of these are catchy, but I'd never listen to this album and it's unlikely I even listen to many of the songs again.

Smash by The Offspring
Aug 28 2026

Kind of fun album, but also kind of annoying. Nostalgia is likely increasing my rating here to 3

Stankonia by OutKast
Aug 29 2026

This album felt so long. I can appreciate a couple of the songs but overall this is very much in the "not for me" category. Ms. Jackson is a classic but even that song feels annoying and too long.

Ten by Pearl Jam

Enjoyable listening with some bangers

Dust by Screaming Trees

I've never heard of this artist before and had a fun time listening to his album. I listened to it twice through and while nothing really struck me as overly stand out, it was a fun listen.
