[Angry Noises]

[Angry Noises] is an instrumental post-rock and jazz-rock album by Polish band Ciśnienie. It sounds like hell on earth with repetitive noises and rhythms. I suppose Stockholm syndrom got to me as I found it a great listen.

Excellent, cacophonic angry jazz. I've thoroughly enjoyed this, although I quite wish I had played it at a slightly louder volume. Kept it down a touch in deference to my cat, who is sleeping happily on the rug in front of me.

Brass. Discordant brass. Brass as discordant as it can get while still being music. This is now in my top 10 albums.

Incredible album—right up my street. It builds tension beautifully, with an atmospheric yet aggressive edge. It reminds me of Slint and Mogwai. Easily one of the best recommendations on this list so far. Just a shame I had to listen on YouTube.

I loved this so fucking much. It is like an angry symphony. Full of fuzz and cacophony and really dissonant shit, but in a way that feels cohesive and accessible. Glad I took the effort to find this (since it's not on Spotify)

Somehow, this album just hit the right boxes for me. Very athmospheric. The brass adds another nice layer to it

Nearly 600 albums in and this may be my favorite find from the user list. Hard to recall an LP that felt so immediate and gripping on first listen – each of the tracks sets out a simple premise to lure you in, then compounds the griminess, intensity, and volume until you find yourself lost in an overwhelming sonic maelstrom from which there is no escape. Exceptionally executed and produced as well, so many insane instrumental parts clashing against each other, yet each is discernible and clear in the mix. This LP embodied to me what it feels like to currently be alive, one terrible thing happening and then doubling down over and over until there's no hope left to fix it. In a way, it was incredibly cathartic to be enveloped in the absolute chaos and let go of control, yet tap into the communal anger and outrage of the band's performance. It's been years since an album has demanded my attention and emotions to this magnitude – many thanks for adding this incredible work of art to the user list, listening to all the 1-2 star albums is worth it to get a gem like this every hundred albums or so.

Wow that was kind of an adventure!

Oh wow, one of the super obscure picks that I actually know. Hard to not click on a Youtube video titled "Gówno (Gówno)" (translation: "Shit (Shit)") when it pops up in your recommendations. Very cool modern post-rock album. Extremely fitting album title and cover. This album is angry as fuck. 4/5.

This is dark, a hard listen, but it rewards the investment. Challenging modern post-hardcore.

Neither Wikipedia or Spotify but the album made up for it, absolute carnage. I’m fairly sure this album came out in 2025 and not this year, though.

I love the noises, even if they are angry. The production is immaculate from the first note. I love the heavy brass. It’s chunky and full and everything I want it to be. Excellent choice. 4/5

Album #69 (1001 challenge extended): "[Angry Noises]" by Ciśnienie (2025) "[Angry Noises]" is a studio album by Polish experimental post-rock band Ciśnienie. Post-rock, noise rock and experimental jazz are the Wiki-listed genres. Wiki describes this album as "combining elements of post-rock, noise rock and avant-garde jazz, characterized by intense dynamics, improvisational structures, and a sound designed for high volume playback." Yeah, that summarizes it. The bandmembers are Maciej Klich (violin), Kacper Kowalczuk (drums), Lukasz Kozera (keyboards), Monica Muc (baritone saxophone) and Michal Paduch (bass). The album has four songs and opens with "My childhood was a period of waiting for the moment when I could send everyone and everything connected with it to hell." A sax sounding like a motor starts it. Eerie key strikes. The music gets louder there's an improv area with the sax, drums and piano. It goes ominous and anxious and back to free-form jazz. The song ends appropriately ends with feedback. "Guillotine" is hypnotic with guitar pulses, horn pumps and a rock beat. Urgent and dramatic. Less improvising and more structure. "Shit (shit)" adds a buzzsaw violin and a sultry sax. Out of nowhere, the band turns into a hardcore punk band. Let's go! A chaotic ending. The last song "Cathago Delenda Est" starts out slower. It slowly builds up. A horn sounds like a bagpipe. Then, every instrument goes in its own direction and we end again in chaos. This album takes you on a ride: ups and downs, chaos and structure, ominous, dramatic and quiet. There's pace changes, free-form jazz, changes in lead instruments and areas of the dreamy, punk and heavy. Instruments are in top of each other at times. I will say that each of the four songs is unique. And, I found this quite interesting at least for one listen. So, if you're up for four experimental songs with jazz, punk and rock, this one is for you. 3.5 out of 5

I love getting recent albums on this list but I honestly wish there was more out there about this band. The music is a fantastic Danny Elfman-esque pastiche of absurdism and dread. Too soon to call it a classic?

I was prepared to hate this based on description alone. I definitely did not hate it, though I came out ambivalent. Having listened to my share of Naked City and Peter Brötzmann, I am not a complete neophyte to extreme jazz, and indeed this was maybe a bit less on the wild side than the descriptions led me to expect. Some of it kind of read as just metal-ish rock jamming. I bet they are absolutely electric live: I'm not sure it fully translates in recording. But I was happy to have this introduction.

Well, this does what it says on the tin. A lot of angry saxophone in use here. I actually kind of liked it… I imagine this could produce some wild results while partaking in certain mind-altering substances.

Interesting at times, headache-inducing at times, boring and repetitive at other times. Overall not bad, but probably won't listen again. 3 stars.

I wish Angry Noises was actually more angry, instead it's a lot of experimental sound fusions that are interesting without being captivating. It's okay, good at times, more 2 than 3. Also was released like months ago so shouldn't be here on principle.

I have a pretty high tolerance for weird and noisy, but this is boring. I'm sure it works well live, but not as an album.

This shit just stresses me out and makes me feel anxious. A really unpleasant album to listen to.

At first I was like hell yea this is a fun jam and then it just kept going and going and then I turned it off and off
