AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted
Ice CubeOne star for excessive language & disrespect to women. The music etc was just ok for me as well. Don't get me wrong I love rap, hip-hop etc, but only if it is good. This was NOT good.
One star for excessive language & disrespect to women. The music etc was just ok for me as well. Don't get me wrong I love rap, hip-hop etc, but only if it is good. This was NOT good.
5/5. Classic. In 2022 it will be 50 years great. Standouts: Highway Star Smoke on the Water Space Truckin' Lazy
Fell in love with this album when I got it back in 1982. I loved the sound of the song, IGY and quickly the rest of this album became a classic to me. I am grateful that the extended version contains True Companion from Heavy Metal (Soundtrack) and Century's End from the Bright Lights, Big City Soundtrack were included. I really think these two songs complete the album quite well. This is a rare 5/5 from me.
Ok...what the F&^% was that? Most of the album isn't music. The tracks that can be called music are 'interesting' but does that make it good? Is this something I want to listen to?
Zero. Total Crap. Can't believe people like this.
Pueblo Nuevo is a nice jazz song. I enjoyed Dos gardenias. Buena Vista Social Club (Song) was nice. Overall, not for me.
LIstened to it a few times. I know the title-track and might have heard Do You Realize before. Everything else was new to me. Has some interesting sounds, but overall, it isn't something that grabbed me. Standout tracks: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Part I. Fight Test, Do You Realize.
I've known this album for years, but only listened to a few tracks. This time I put the headphones on and listened to it all. Intensely. The well-known tracks are great and sound even better when listening so intensely. Walk this Way and Sweet Emotion are the two songs I knew. The rest were new to me. Toys in the Attic - Great start to the song. What a way to kick off the album. Uncle Salty - Loved it. Adam's Apple. ... She ate it... It was love at first bite! Cool. Walk this way - MEGA-Classic. Big Ten Inch Record - I like the groove! Now whip out your big ten-inch.... record. Sweet Emotion - Classic. Perfect. No More No More - It's alright.... You See Me Crying - I love Rock ballads. Steven Tyler's vulnerable side. Nice, not great, but nice way to end the album. Stand Out Tracks: Walk This Way Sweet Emotion Uncle Salty Big Ten Inch Record
I'm not much of a fan of Jane's addiction. The lead singer's voice doesn't work for me. The music itself is mostly great if played loud. Enjoyable, but not great for me. I'm sure other's love it and and I have no problem with that. I'm sure if I listen again sometime in the future maybe it will capture me more than it did this listen.
Such a great album. When this album came out I was obsessed with Alanis Morissette. The mid-to-late 90s belonged to her. Every song on this album may not be perfect (only one is actually) but it is SO good and it just brings back so many memories...it is a solid 5/5 for me. Standouts: You Oughtta Know, Perfect, Hand in My Pocket, You Learn, Ironic, Right Through You, Head Over Feet. And in case you are wondering the one perfect song, is "Perfect". But You Oughtta Know that right?
One of their best. And they have had some great albums. This was the first one I bought from them. I have them all now, It is pretty great, start to finish.
5/5. Classic. In 2022 it will be 50 years great. Standouts: Highway Star Smoke on the Water Space Truckin' Lazy
I am a huge Queen fan, but this is one of those albums I know the least, so this was a great opportunity to listen to it thoroughly. When the movie Baby Driver came out I remember listening to Brighton Rock over and over again. That was a great movie and I became a fan of the song too. The rest of the album is still growing on me. Standouts: Killer Queen Brighton Rock Lily of the Valley & Dear Friends
Hard not to give this a perfect 5/5. So many great songs and a few pretty good ones mixed in. RIP Kurt.
4.5 / 5. Bye, Bye Love is a horrible addition to this album. Everything else is great.
Sounds good. Need more listening time.
Seemed to go on forever. I like the music, but not so much all at once. I got tired of it.
Need to listen again!
seemed ok
Paul lives. Classic.
It's nice.
Jam-packed with classic Beatles masterpieces. I'm a Beatles fan, but I love the White Album, Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road much more than this one.
Five stars. Easy. Next.
Big fan of deez guys! This album need more listening time from me to increase the star rating.
I like Traffic, but this one is one that needs many more listens to appreciate.
An eclectic mix of musical styles from Disco to Punk Rock. The album seemed pleasing, but since this was a first listen for me, it didn't grab me right away. Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll is a song that I've heard before and recognized it right away. I had no idea previously, who sang it or when it was from. Stand Out Songs: Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll
It's alright. Not a big fan of Bob Dylan.
Solid three stars for now, maybe upon further listens this can be a 4 star album.
One great song. I used to listen to this quite a bit when it came out. I don't remember most of the songs now.
short album. seemed ok, first listen.
1st listen. Don't know any of the songs, heard of the Wu Tang Clan... Need to listen more.
1st Listen. Mostly liked it.
FIVE stars. Strong album. A classic start to finish.
I don't like the language, but the music is phenomenal. What a talent. Really enjoyed this. Listened to it at least three times today and just keeps getting better.
3/5. First Listen. Has potential. :)
3/5. First listen. I enjoyed the last couple songs the most.
Very good
Classic
Never heard this album before. It seems ok, I'm giving it a 2/5 for now. We'll see if it gets better with time. Nothing stood out to me on this album.
Half of this album is a solid 4. But overall, I'm giving it a 3/5.
3/5 Great Funk.
Yep, again. Not bad.
One star for excessive language & disrespect to women. The music etc was just ok for me as well. Don't get me wrong I love rap, hip-hop etc, but only if it is good. This was NOT good.
Don't know the album. Hear one other by Love on this "Albums to listen to before you die" series. I do like the sound of this one. "7 and 7 is" is a nice pre-pre-punk sound. I can see why other punk bands have recorded it. Not bad. Revelation almost gives me a "Doors"/"Jim Morrison" feel. Interesting because this came out before anyone ever heard of the Doors. Stand outs: Orange Skies, Que Vida! The Castle, She Comes in Colors. This is a 3/5 for me. Which is a "good rating" for an album I hear for the first time. I can see this one growing on me and just getting stronger. I smell a 4/5 in its future.
2nd listen. Great stuff
Very good. Not a big Elvis fan. Overall 3/5 Standouts: I'll Never Let You Go (Little Darlin'), Blue Moon, and Blue Suede Shoes.
Solid 3/5. This one will only get better.
First listen 3/5. My kind of music!
Good for the genre. 3/5
Good stuff
Interesting sound. First listen for me. Never heard of them before. I like it more than I thought. Heard it several times today. 2/5 for now...
Zero. Total Crap. Can't believe people like this.
I have no idea how this is a "must listen to" album. It is very average at best. Never heard of this group, never heard of any of the songs. Maybe it gets better with time, but for me, it has to be a 1/5 for now.
Another solid classic by LC
Cat Stevens is always good to listen to. 3/5
5/5. Know this album so well. It is a masterpiece. Every song is great.
3/5. A few really great songs, the rest have a familiar sound, even though I don't know the songs. You Better Run? Really? I thought that was a Pat Benetar song! Standouts: How Can I be Sure? Groovin' You Better Run, A Place in the Sun.
I have three accounts, and this is the third listen for me. The first two times I gave this album a 3/5 stars rating. I had never heard of her before. Now, I'm kind of a fan. This album is pretty great. Solid 4/5 now.
First listen. Never heard of them before. I like the sound for the most part. I think this one will grow on me with time. Good alternative rock. 2/5 (for now).
Love his voice and style.
First listen. Sounds good. Like to hear more of it.
5/5. Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest bands ever. All songs are amazing.
2nd time around for me. 4/5. Great sound. Classic.
Eh
Ok 2/5
Know this album well. One of my favorites from the Genre. 5/5. Standouts: So What, Freddie Freeloader
First Listen. Reminds me of De La Soul's Three Feet High and Rising... Love it. I'm giving this a 3/5 (which for me on first listen) is very high.
Interesting, deam-like songs.
Know and love CCR. Some really great classics on this album. It almost feels like a Greatest Hits album, but it isn't. This is a solid 5/5. Classic. Love it.
If this was a single LP it would be a strong 5 stars. A lot of great songs on this one.
First Listen. Very good stuff. Better than expected.
Second listen. Very nice music to have on in the background. Really enjoying the music.
2/5 first listen. Couple good songs.
Good
First Listen. Sounds pretty good.
Second Listen. 2/5 for me this time. I think it's good, but need to hear more.
I thought Greatest Hits albums weren't part of the deal for this collection of albums? That is what this kind of is, isn't it? Don't get me wrong, it's great music, and I enjoyed it.
First Listen. Nothing special here. One good song. One. The rest seemed just blah to me. I'll give it another chance someday but for now, 1/5
First Listen. Really like some of the songs. I'm excited to hear this one again. It is listed as Alternative Country / Alternative Rock. I feel more alternative rock than country on many songs, others the country comes through. Very nice. 2/5 Standouts: Misunderstood.
Second Listen. Still enjoying it second time around 3/5.
The more I hear this one the more I like it. Second Listen. 4/5. Black Sabbath. Evil Woman. The Wizard. NI.B.
First listen. Sounded ok. One well known song. 2/5
Good
Rehab is a great song. The rest of the album is solid. My first time listening to this one. Like to hear more. 2/5 for now. Promising though.
One of the best in the Genre. Heard this many times when it came out. Was really glad to hear it again today. Still as good as ever. 4/5.
Not your typical Beach Boys sound, but this is really nice. I really enjoyed the songs. I think after hearing it more the rating will go up quite a bit. Right now I'll give it a 3/5 for first listen. Stand Outs: Disney Girls (I always loved the Art Garfunkel version, and didn't know it was originally a Beach Boys song).
First lIsten. Ok for me. Too many N's and F's.... 2/5
First Listen. Very good. Like to hear more. Low 2/5 for now. Standout is Runaway. This is an amazing song, start to finish. I think I may have heard it before, because it sounded familiar but when it started I was totally focused on it the whole time.
First listen. Some great songs
First listen. I think this is my favorite Bob Dylan album. This one will only get better with time. Standouts: Make You Feel My Love 3/5.
First Listen. It's a great album and it's live.
First Listen. Never heard of this band before. Listened a few times today. This is really good. The songs felt so familiar and comfortable by the end of the night - I knew this was something special. 3/5 (for a first listen, that is a great score).
First listen. Love other Zappa albums. Not getting this one though.
First Listen. I wish I understood Portuguese because I think the lyrics have to be as amazing as the melodies. This album has such an amazing, calming presence. This is one of those albums I would have never listened to in my life. So I am grateful that it is on this list so I did get the chance to hear it. I can't wait to listen to more of it in the future. My rating may seem low for now, but I know this album will only go up as I listen to it more. 2.5/5
First Listen. I am sure back in the 60's this might have been something. but, to hear it now in 2021 for the first time. It kind of loses something. It does have some good sounds, so I'll give it a chance again in the future. 2/5 for now.
First Listen. Smooth. 2/5
Love Leonard. 5/5
First Listen. Rock classics India style. Not bad.
Second listen. First was a 2/5 the first time and stays a 2/5 for me this time. It is fine, it's really good music. Just not exciting for me.
Mega-Classic. 5/5
First Listen. I know a couple of the songs. The rest of the album seems solid. 2/5
Classic. 3/5.
1/5.
Second Listen. Becoming a very familiar album to me. Some call this album 'boring' but, it is not. It is a comfortable album. I enjoyed it from start to finish and look forward to hearing it again. First listen I gave this a 2/5, now it is a solid 3/5.
Albums like this can be difficult. You really have to be in the right mood. I'd say for the genre, it was quite good and better than expected. I'd enjoy hearing it again sometime when the mood is right. For me just 2/5 for now though.
2/5 Too many F's and N's...
Produced by Brian Eno. Something really good about this album. At first, I thought it was just another boring (mostly) instrumental album, but this one caught me by surprise. I really enjoyed it. Like to hear it again. 3/5 Standouts: Penguin Cafe Single
Loved the first massive attack album I seen on here. This one, not yet. 2/5
Great. 4/5
First Listen. I know a couple of the songs, but the rest is new to me. Love it on first listen. Standouts: The Message, Scorpio, It's Nasty, It's a Shame 3/5
First listen. Never heard of her before. Nothing stood out to me on first listen. Need to hear more.
First listen. Not my style of music. Good for background, study music though.
First Listen. Never heard of them before. Definitely a sound I like. Very enjoyable album. I'll listen to this one again. 2/5 for now.
Second Listen. It's funny because I like Kate Bush. This album doesn't do it for me except one song: This Woman's Work. Reminds of the end of the movie: She's Having a Baby. Great. Standouts: This Woman's Work.
A few classics! 3/5 Solid.
Not the first time I've heard this album. It is great. Every song is great. I love the progressive soul sounds! Solid 4/5.
First Listen. Don't know the band at all. I was expecting something more 'hardcore', but I'm happy that this wasn't another metal band. I really hear a David Bowie influence when I listened to it. Does this mean they are not original? Just listening to the music and taking it for what it is, I think it isn't bad. But, at this point, I'm not sold on it. Like to hear more. 2/5
First listen. This is my kind of music. Never heard of them before though. I enjoyed it and like to hear more of it in the future. 2/5 for now.
Very good. Easy listen. 3/5
Second listen. Still loud. Still hard to listen to. You really have to be in the mood for this kind of music to enjoy. The music is much more enjoyable than the screaming. 2/5
Second list within the past two weeks. Gave it a 2/5 then and still just a 2/5 for me now. I will say that I am enjoying it more this time than last time, but not enough right now. I can see this being a 3/5 sometime in the future.
First listen. I like Yes, first I heard of this album though. After listening to it a few times, I'm not feeling it yet. 2/5 for now.
Quite a few big, well known songs. The rest seem pretty good as well. I like it. 3/5 for now (First listen).
First Listen. Morrissey's voice: good or annoying. Couple good songs. Need to hear more. 2/5.
Well, that was interesting. Enjoyed this one more with headphones on and no distractions. Amazing sounds and sampling. Love to hear more. For now, first listen, a strong 2/5.
First Listen. 2/5
Its good.
Good.
Frank is always great
Love it! 4/5
So classic. Love early Rod Stewart. 3/5
Not a fan of Mariah Carey. 2/5
2nd Listen. Pretty damn classic. 3/5
I know the song Street Life. The rest is just nice funky jazz. No problems with it at all. I look forward to hearing more of it. First Listen. 2/5
First listen. I know a lot of people are fans. I'm not getting it yet. Nice music, but nothing special.
Great sounds
Knew this album when it came out. It hasn't aged well, but is still enjoyable. Half the songs are good, the other half are pretty bad.
First Listen. Good quality punk. LIke to hear more.
Changes and Life on Mars are great classic Bowie songs. First time hearing the rest of the album. 3/5
One of the easiest 5/5 I can give. Love this album. Heard it at least a thousand times over the years.
First Listen. Drive is the only song I knew before listening. It seems like a decent album.
first listen. It's ok. 2/5
First listen. Very interesting album. I need more listens to this one. I think this one will be rated higher in future listens but for now it is a 2/5.
I recognize the name, but I have never heard any of her music before. I love her sound though and I will definitely listen to more of her. This is my first listen. Absolutely love it, but need to hear it more! 3/5 for now.
First Listen. Besides the couple of songs that I knew, I didn't enjoy much of the rest of the album. It really isn't my kind of music. I do think that Work It is one of the best of the genre - so props to her for that one! 2/5
First listen. Nothing stands out to me on this album. Every song is very forgettable. Maybe it will get better next time I hear it. 2/5 for now.
Good
Second Listen. Starting to really grow on me. I wasn't crazy about it the first time I heard it. 3/5
Easy 5/5... Can I give it a 6? Classic start to finish.
Know it well. Great Elton John album. 4/5
Second Listen. Still very enjoyable. There she goes is a perfect Alternative song. The rest of the album is still growing on me. Some of the songs have a modern 60's feel to them. So many great songs on this album. 3/5
Some albums are just nice and nothing more. For me this is one of them. My second time having this one come up in my daily listen. 2/5
Total crap.
An old-style that is hard to listen to for the first time in 2021. It's fine, and I'm sure it was great back in '65. 2/5
Haven't heard this one in a long time. It surprised me how good it was. I thought it was just a bunch of pop hits, but the music is good. 5/5
First listen. Pretty good for scream rock. 2/5
2nd listen. Starting to grow on me. 3/5
First listen. Bitter Sweet Memories has always been a favorite of mine. Never heard the rest of the album. I really like Sonnet as well. The rest of the album just kept getting better throughout the day. 2/5 for now.
The oldest son of Feli Kuti, Femi Kuti is just as talented! There are just some days when this is the perfect thing to listen to - today, for me, was one of those days. So glad to welcome this album into my life. I absolutely loved this album and I can't wait to get to know it better.
Some great songs on this album: Sweet Dream, Love is a Stranger but I think Jennifer stands out as my favorite. The Walk was enjoyable as well. Great sound. 3/5.
Brilliant. Always loved this album. 4/5
I've enjoyed many other Van Morrison albums more than this one. It might take a bit longer to appreciate this one. 2/5.
First Listen. There are a few truly great songs on this album. The rest of the album was unknown to me. 3/5
Lambchop? Never heard of them. But, you know what? I really like it. It is an interesting sound. I don't think it feels country or even alternative country at all. I think the songs seemed a big on the dull side the first time I heard it but they really started growing on me. The tone and feeling of the album is quite nice. Lyrically, it sounds like a hodgepodge of nonsense at times, but if you read between the lines you can get of gist of what they are saying (sometimes). Interesting none-the-less. I'm giving it only a 2/5 for now, but I am sure that will go up with further listens.
2nd listen in the past week. Enjoyable.
It's pretty good. But, nothing I would listen to outside of this list.
Such an old style. I'm sure is was good back in the day. 2/5
Good electronic music.
Oh Leonard, the Darker the better! Cheers brother, I'm sure you are up there still singing. Thanks for all you gave us.
I like the Sex Pistols, I like PIL, but this album... I didn't know it even existed... hard one to enjoy. Maybe after I listen a few more times... 2/5
Never heard of him before but his music sounds familiar. Either he is doing someone else's style or they are all doing his. Good for what it is. 2/5
Definitely my kind of music. Need to hear more of it. For sure. 2/5.
Sounds pretty good.
2nd listen. I'm really beginning to enjoy this album. Standouts: I'll Come Running, Sky Saw, St. Elmo's Fire, Zawinul Lava (sounds very much like the "song" from his ambient music album).
Enjoyable.
Ms. Jackson was the first Outkast songs I remember hearing from them. I loved it. What a great and unique sound they had. So Fresh and So Clean was pretty good too, BoB ok. This was the first time I heard the album though. They have a great sound. The explicit lyrics bring it down a peg for me though. Still a really great album. 3/5.
I really thought I was going to love this, but, honestly, I didn't. None of these songs stand out to me at all. I'm shocked. Maybe on another day, I'll like it more. 2/5
Haven’t listened to this in a long time.
Better than most rap. Never heard of this guy before. His use of the Billy Squire song is good.
Amazing. Really enjoyed this unique sound.
Its nice. 3/5
Good. 3/5
It's ok for an old style of music that just doesn't work anymore. 2/5.
One of my least favorite Tom Waits' albums. I don't get it. 2/5
Bring the noise is great.
Great album. 4/5. Standouts: No Sleep till Brooklyn, Fight For Your Right, Brass Monkey, Girls, Rhymin & Stealin', Hold it Now, Hit it, She's Crafty, Paul Revere.
The first time I heard this, I thought it was an odd album to have on a list like this, but it is starting to grow on me. Getting better each time I hear it. 3/5.
Horible. 1/5
Good
Its allright 2/5
Such a easy listen. Very enjoyable. 3/5
Excellent. 3/5
Loved it.
Ok
First Listen. Interesting sounds.
Classic
Great
Awesome early Metallica! 4/5
Interesting. Got better as the day went on.
Not bad
The Killing Moon is a great song. The rest of the album seems pretty good. I'd enjoy hearing this one again. 2/5 for now.
4.5 / 5.0 Such a great album! Most of the songs are iconic!
Not my favorite White Strips album, but there are a handful of gems on it.
Nice
Good
3rd listen. 4/5. Some great Otis classics like I've Been Lovin' You Too Long, Respect (which Aretha Franklin's version became a classic). and Satisfaction (his version of the Rolling Stones classic is unique and soulful). Other Notable songs: You Don't Miss Your Water, Down in the Valley, Change Gonna Come, Rock me Baby, Wonderful World, and My Girl.
Classic.
Really good album.
Tighten Up - great. Howlin' For You - great. Others: Everlasting Light Good sound. 3/5
Not really the kind of music that I choose to listen to but, this is a very nice album. I like his version of Crusin' but it isn't unique enough from the original Smokey Robinson version to make it stand out. It is nice that he is able to bring the song to a new generation of fans. 2/5
This is a really great album. I have heard a couple of the songs before the rest were 'new' for me. There are a lot of cover versions on the album mixed with a couple of Johnny Cash originals. His cover versions are amazing - especially Hurt. Standouts: Hurt, I Hung My Head, In My Life, The Man Comes Around, Danny Boy, Desperado, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. 4/5
2nd listen. Some true classics. Great sound and style. 3/5
One of the best live albums in rock. 3/5 Standouts: Surrender, I Want You to Want Me. Aint That a Shame. Others: Big Eyes, Goodnight Now From the full concert CD: Speak Now, California Man, Downed, Oh Caroline
It's pretty good, but not exactly what I listen to. I think once I become more familiar with it, it will be better. 2/5 for now. Best songs: Shapes of Things, Morning Dew, You Shook Me, Beck's Bolero,
2nd listen. Wish I liked it more than I do. It's good, but not that great for me. 3/5
First time I ever heard of Grizzly Bear. Songs I liked: All We Ask. For now a 2/5, but I think it is better than that.
Some really great songs pack this gem. 3/5.
Second Listen. Standouts: If You Think You're Lonely Now Others: Just My Imagination, Where Do We Go From Here
2nd Listen. Really starting to enjoy this one. 3/5 "side 1" is better than "side 2" but overall still really good.
Third Listen. janis Joplin is great, the album is ok. 3/5
First time hearing the album. I have heard to Tito Puente, but was not familiar with the music. I definitely enjoyed it. Not something I would listen to outside of this list though. Still it has a great sound and puts you in a good mood. 3/5
Not a big fan of this kind of music anymore, but I did really think it was pretty good. If I am ever in the mood for something like this, I'll definitely think of it. 3/5
Need to hear it again. I think it is pretty nice. 2/5 for now.
2nd listen. Interesting album. Some good songs and some great songs. 4/5 Standouts: Coconut, Gotta Get Up, Without You, Others: Driving Along, Early in the Morning, Moonbeam Song, Let the Good Times Roll, Jump into the Fire. Down
3rd Listen. Great album. Brings back a lot of memories of the times. :) 4/5
interesting sound. 2/5
WOW. Incredible album. First time hearing it. I think I'm an instant fan of Nick Cave. Great voice and tone. The songs are all amazing. I can see this one becoming a favorite of mine in the near future. Standouts: Into My Arms, People Ain't No Good, Lime Tree Arbour, 3.5 / 5
It's nice. Not what I usually listen to, but enjoyable. 2/5
Never Mind the rest of the Punk in this list, Here's the Sex Pistols! Now, this is good punk rock. Absolute classic! 4.5/5
Gets a little better each time I hear it. 3/5
First time hearing this one from an artist I have loved for years. Really love the song "Borrowed Tune" (it's a 5/5). 3/5
Second Listen. One of the most interesting (in a bizarre way) albums on the list. I don't think any one song stands out, they are all fairly equal to me. I have a favorable opinion of the album this time around, not sure if I think it is worthy of the list, but I enjoyed it. 3/5
It’s fine. 2/5
One of their finest. Standouts: It's the End of the World, The One I Love, Finest Worksong, Fireplace. Really every song is memorable. 4/5
nah
Interesting and enjoyable.
Interesting. I like it, but really need to hear it again.
Early Beatles' albums have too many covers. Do they make the album better or worse? I prefer the true Beatles songs. There are some good ones. This is one of my least favorite Beatles albums. That being said it is still very good. 4/5
Really good album. 3.5 / 5
One of the best albums of the decade. Packed with great songs, this album is a pleasure from start to finish. Standouts: Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, Roll with It, Morning Glory. Others: all the rest! A very strong 4/5. (Note: I don't give 5's to just a TRULY great album that has survived the test of time. )
I want to give it a 4/5, I really enjoy it, but by the end I am a little tired of her voice and tone. 3.5/5.
3/5. Most of the songs are enjoyable.
First time hearing of this guy. I really like it. I want to hear more of it. 3/5
Nut Rocker is a classic. Interesting Classical Rock sound. I can see why people like it. 3/5 for me now. Definitely one I'll keep in my playlist for a while. I think it will grow on me.
Not bad. 2/5
Pretty classic. 4/5.
Hmmmm. Never heard of this before. Need to hear it again to know if I like it….
Never heard of Nick Cave before starting this project, now I've heard a couple of his albums and I think I'm a fan. Love the sound, style and music. 3/5 for now because I need to hear more of it.
Was great in its day. 3/5
Pretty good. 3/5
Really great. Enjoyed it. I knew the first song, that was it.
It's nice, but not my kind of music. 2/5. Too much old country twang for my liking.
Really good. 3/5
4/5. It is great.
Never heard of them before. Seems ok on first listen. Stand outs: Range Life, Cut Your Hair, Gold Soundz. 2.5/5
Classic. 4/5 I don't think that L'America ever stood out to me as one of the best songs on this album until now. There are the typical standards on this album that everyone who knows classic rock will know: Riders on the Storm, LA Woman and Love her Madly. Then there are the others like The WASP, that true Doors fans know and love. There really isn't a bad song on the album. Standouts: Riders on the Storm, L'America. Love Her Madly, L.A. Woman,
I got this album as a gift back in the early 80s. I knew Rock Lobster, the rest was new (to me) at the time. I immediately loved it. It really brings back memories. The LP I had skipped during Dance this Mess Around and it would loop on one track over and over again. I actually recorded the skipping version to a cassette… eventually, the album self-corrected and the skip went away. Every time I hear that song, it makes me think of the loop, and I heard it in my head…. The album is great, start to finish. I think Wild Planet (their next album) is just as good, if not better. Glad to see this one (at least) on the list. 5/5.
Its fine
It's fine
Green Onions is a great song. Rinky Dink is a decent cover. Mo Onions is just a continuation of Green Onions and It's good. The rest of the album contains cover versions of other popular songs around the time this album came out. If there were more original material like Green Onions I can see this being worthy of being on this list, but with a bunch of covers, it hardly makes the cut for me. Still enjoyable, just not great. 3/5.
Very good
Better than expected. 3/5
2.5/ 5 at best. It's definitely nothing special. I think a couple of the songs are better than the rest, but overall, it isn't for me. I'm glad there are folks that enjoy it.
Classic
Classic. 4/5. Standouts: Maggy May, Amazing Grace, I'm Losing You, Reason to Believe.
Really great album. Never heard this before (except for Bowie's version of China Girl. Standouts: Sister Midnight, Nightclubbing,
Really good. But, it is just a bunch of already well-known standards that he's singing. Nothing original here. It's good, but I can't give it more than 3/5.
5/5. Absolute perfection.
The song Marquee Moon is definitely the highlight of the album - that guitar riff is addicting. The rest of the album seems good, but doesn't compare to Marquee Moon.
Really good.
This is a really good album from start to finish. 4/5
Need to hear more if it.
Loaded with classics. 3.5/5 because I don't know the entire album that well.
Not for me. I tried to listen to it and give it a chance, but there was just nothing there. No interest in ever hearing it again. 1/5
Not my favorite era for the Kinks, but it's still good stuff. 3/5
Kind of an interesting listen. It isn't bad at all and I found myself singing along with it after a few listens... I don't think it is great, but it was worth spending time with. 3/5
It’s good for what it is.
Not a fan of K.D. Lange but this is good one! Constant Craving is a classic The rest of the album is high quality. Good Music. 3/5
This album is fine. I'd say that their best two albums are Hotel California and The Long Run. Why the Long Run isn't on this list is a mystery to me. When it comes to their next best album it is a toss-up between Eagles, Desperado, On the Border, and One of These Nights. Standouts: Peaceful Easy Feelin', Take it Easy, Witchy Woman. 3.5/5
3/5, first listen. Very nice
Quite good. 3.5/5
No. Why is this on the list? He has like two songs and the rest are covers. Nothing original…. 2/5.
Good first listen. Enjoyable. I know the one song, the rest was new. 2.5/5
Kinky Afto was pretty catchy. The rest of the album seems ok. I think this one will take longer for me to get to know. It is my kind of music - just never heard it before. For now, I'll give it 2.5/5...
When you're in the right mood, this can be a great one to get your blood pumping. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Not what I normally listen to though. 3/5
Mostly good. 3/5
Great Funk album. Standout: One Nation Under A Groove 3.5/5
5/5
Good early Psychedelic Rock. 3/5
Yes! First time hearing the album. I do know a few of the songs. This is really great. Can’t wait to hear it again. Standouts: London’s Burning, Police and Thieves From the US release: I Fought The Law 3.5/5
Classic 3.5 / 5
Getting better with each listen. 3/5.
I came into this project already a big Leonard Cohen fan, so it was nice to see him being recognized with several albums. This album is right up there with the others. First We Take Manhattan is a great song that many already know, or recognize. It makes a great introduction to an amazing album. Standouts: First We Take Manhattan, The Tower Song, I'm Your Man, Take This Waltz, Everybody Knows 4.5/5
Good, but WAAAAAAYYYYYYY too long. Come on, guys. Enough already. 3/5
2.5
Different 2.5
Haven't heard this album before. There were no songs on it that I knew either. Elvis Costello just isn't as popular in the USA as he is in the UK. Given that. I really loved this album. I need to hear more of it to justifyr a better rating. For now, I'll give it a solid 3/5. I am sure this will go higher in future listens.
One of the first albums I ever bought. This is one of those classic albums that every song can be played on the radio. I know I have heard each and every song on classic rock radio stations today. Standouts: Every song on Side 1, also every song on side 2. Every song. every single song! 5/5
It has its moments. 2.5/5
You can definitely hear the Brian Eno touch on this one. One of the better Talking Heads Albums. 3/5
"Don't Worry 'bout a thing. Every little thing is gonna be alright. " This is a good one! The first four songs are fine, but they don't compare to the rest of the album. Songs 5-10 are exceptional. Three Little Birds is my all-time favorite. Classics: Exodus, Jamming, Waiting in Vain, Three Little Birds, One Love/People Get Ready. 4/5
I've heard this album before, but none of the songs were anything I had heard on the radio before so I didn't give it much credit. But, after listening to it now, I really think I enjoyed it and need to keep listening to it. My favorite track is Changes, followed by Supernaut and FX. 3.5 / 5
3.5 / 5 Most was new to me. Of course, the world knows Come on Eileen and I always loved that song. Classic: Come on Eileen Other standouts: Jackie Wilson Said (I'm in Heaven), Until I Believe in My Soul, Very Good: The Celtic Soul Brothers, Let's Make This Precious, All in All,
Best Trip-Hop album ever? Ok, I've only heard a few but this is tops for me. Absolutely loved the vibe and sounds of this album. This is why I love the 1001 albums list - because of gems like this that I would have never heard otherwise. The album cover really threw me off... So, I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't a cheesy Rap album. I don't think there are any songs that stand out as exceptional, the entire album seems like one seamless work of art best-enjoyed start to finish. 4/5
Never even heard of these guys before. Some good songs.
Surprised how much i enjoye$ this one.
"OK' is just that, OK. I didn't get anything from this one. I've heard it before and it didn't get any better this time around. 2/5.
This is one of the albums on this list that I know well already. I think every song is great and it is enjoyable from start to finish. "The extra instrumental track at the end of 'Billy's Bot A Gun' has been called either 'The March Of The Dreaded Zultrons' or 'The March Of The Wooden Zombies' by different band members. The sound is Rick Allen putting random numbers into a Linn drum machine, later added to by the band and Mutt" (http://www.deflepparduk.com/album3.html) Classics: Photograph, Rock Rock, Too Late For Love, Foolin', Rock of Ages,. 4.5/5
Above-average pop album. Enjoyable... 3/5
Brilliant. 5/5 Standouts: Synchronicity I, Walking in your Footsteps, Every Breath You Take, King of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Finger, Synchronicity II The rest of the songs are exceptional as well: Mother, Tea In the Sahara, Miss Gradenko and O My God. I had the LP of this album growing up so new to me is the bonus song: Murder by Numbers. But, I have to admit, after hearing it, it did sound familiar.
2.5/5. Very good. Id like to hear more.
Great Afrobeat! 3.5/5
Really enjoyed this album. So many great songs, one right after the other. 4/5
Nice. Great voice. Such an old style but it is still very enjoyable. Stanouts: Jackie, Next, Plastic Palace People, and my favorite track The Girls and The Dogs. 3/5
Sound a lot like the other Nick Drake albums…. Which is a good thing. 2.5/5
Wow. Old school. Blast from the past. Loved it.
Love the horns! 3.5
2.5
First listen.
It’s fine. Not my cup of tea.
2/5. Noise....
Waaaaayyyyy better than expected. Enjoyed this one very much. The language is a bit distracting at times, but compared to music today it is quite tame. Overall, I think it was definitely worth listening to. 3.5 / 5
3/5. Not bad.
2.5 / 5 Some good vibes. Need to hear more of it.
Tina really did a fine job on this album. Full of really good songs. 4/5 Standouts: Private Dancer, I Can't Stand the Rain, What's Love Got to Do With it?, Let's Stay Together. Others: 1984, Better Be Good To Me, Help! (From the International Version)
Sympathy For the Devil is ultra-classic. Street Fighting Man is exceptional. The rest of the album is "new" to me. The Stones are an amazing band and they have been making music for 60 years. Think about that.... I'll need to hear more of this! 3.5/5
Great
Very repetitive. Each song sound like a repetitive loop, played over and over again - repetitively. (Notice how repetitive I was there?) Not one song really stood out as unique or interesting. It is worth playing in the background when you don't care what you're listening to, so, I give it a 2 of 5
Such a great sound. Never heard the entire album before, it stands out far ahead of other first listens for me. Standout: Sultans of Swing.
2.5/5. First listen. Sounds good. Like to hear more
5/5 classic
Great album. Don’t know it as much as I should. What i have heard is excellent. 3.5/5
Classic.
2.5 / 5. First listen. When I first started listening, I really wasn't impressed. But, as the day has gone on, I am starting to get into it.
3.5 / 5 Solid air is a solid album. Great sounds. Love to hear more of this one in the future.
Really? Not my new favorite band, but it was enjoyable. Like to hear more of this one. 2.5/5
3.5 / 5 Heard this one before. The more I hear it the better it gets.
3/5 some classics
Not my favorite Kraftwerk album.
Good Jazz
Ok...what the F&^% was that? Most of the album isn't music. The tracks that can be called music are 'interesting' but does that make it good? Is this something I want to listen to?
Never been a motorhead fan. I had always heard OF them but never heard them. I was definitely into this kind of music later in the 1980s and I think this album was just ahead of my time, so that is why I missed it. Ace of Spades is definitely an easy song to call the 'star' of the album. The rest of the album definitely sounds like my kind of music. It's a shame it took this long for me to hear it. 3/5
Great
3/5 Herd this for the first time just last week, now here it is on this list. One of the best of the genre that I've heard. Chemical Warfare, California Uber Alles, I Kill Children, Holiday in Cambodia, and Even Viva Las Vegas...all songs I enjoyed!
4.5. CCR is one of the best bands ever and this is a great album.
5/5 classic.
A few classics. Mama said knock you out is top notch.
Wow. Never heard of her before, but this was amazing. What a journey! Can't wait to get to know this one better. 3.5/5 (For now).
Pretty good
3.5. I like it.
Nice
Not bad. 2.5/5
2.5 / 5 Listened to this all day and every time it started again, it was like hearing the songs for the first time. This one would really take some time to get used to. I might like it better in the future.
Big Metallica fan….never heard this one before. It’s all right 3/5
Really good album. 3.5 / 5 I never heard this one prior to this list. I AM loving it. I need more time with this one, I know it will only get stronger as time goes by. From start to finish this one is great. I listened to the extra material as well and as a fan of 40's music, I was thrilled to find the relation to Alvino Rey! And My Buddy is such a great song! More people should know and have the chance to love it! Alvino Rey has others that are classic as well!
Seems pretty good. Need to hear it again! 2.5/5
2.5/5 Hard to believe this is from 1969. I can see how this would be influential to the punk rock scene in the 1970s though. Two of the songs are pretty good, the rest just seem like noise. Might get better with more listens though.
I definitely maybe want to hear this one again and again. 3/5
Solid effort by Neil Young. I would definitely continue to listen to this one. I think as I get to know it better I will enjoy it more.
2.5 Nice!
2.5 / 5. Good old-time Country music with a lot of heartbreak and prison songs.
Not bad. 2.5/5
2.5/5. Difficult one for me to enjoy. I think if I was in the mood, this would be great, but after listening to it all day - nothing stood out to me. Maybe another day, it will be awesome.
Eh
2.5. Seems ok. Nothing really stands out, but nothing is bad... just need more time to get to know it.
When I hear this album, the LAST thing that comes to mind are rainbows… i thought I was really going to hate this album, and surprisingly - I didn’t. It is loud and noisy, but there is something interesting about it. I am glad that I got a chance to hear it. I don’t know if I would ever decide to listen to it again one day voluntarily… 3/5.
What a great album. That is "feel good" music 100%. 3.5
World music just takes longer to appreciate when it is so different from what you are used to. This one, is like that for me. I can appreciate it, but not totally get it - for now. I am sure as i become more familiar with it, i will enjoy it more. For now it is a 2/5.
Standouts: Nude, All I Need, Faust Arp, Reckoner, House of Cards, Jigsaw Falling into Pieces and Videotape. Great album. 4/5
Probably one of my least favorite genres. But, this is one of the best 90's hip-hop albums I've heard. Hats off to Mister Z. I'd give it a bit of a higher score by the language really destroys the music. 3/5
Amazing. Standout: "Four Women" is a great song. The rest of the album is incredible. Love it. 4/5
Love Maggot Brain (Song). The rest of the album has promise. 3/5
So good! Classic. Original sound. Image this came out in 1978! 4/5
What a wild mix of genres…. Buffalo Gals is classic.
Interesting. 3/5
Hearing this for the first time in 2022, makes me wonder what it must have been like to drop the needle on the album back in ‘71. I think somewhere in the 50 years that have past since its release it has lost something. I have heard of the album before and am definitely familiar with ELP, but I have never actually listened to it. Talent-wise, the band gets a solid 5/5. Knowable songs: 1/5, and like-able songs… maybe a 2/5. Favorite track: A Time and a Place. Least favorite: Are you Ready Eddy.
Hard to listen to in 2022... I'm sure in the 1960s this was relevant. For me it was tolerable, but not great. 3/5
i hate Bob Fucking Dylan but dammit, this is good.
Really long and mostly good. 2.5/5
Really like it. I would like to hear this again soon! 3/5
5/5. I'd give it 6/5 if I could. Every song is perfect. Start to finish it is a classic!
Solid!
The original album is pretty short, the deluxe and 40th anniversary editions are for the die-hard Who fans - really long. If I could make my own playlist of about half the songs, I think it would be pretty great. Rating it for the original version (37 minutes): it is weak considering all the songs that they would have added. 3/5 The longer versions have more of the better songs, but it's also filled with a lot of songs that are fine... but just too much for one sitting. 3/5 as well.
Brilliant. When this came out, everyone thought Terence Trent D'Arby was the next big thing...then... what happened? This album is brilliant. But, TTD turned out to be a one-album wonder... like so many before him and since... 4.5/5
Yeah, it's Eric Clapton. It's good. Just not exciting. Two absolute classics and the rest are fine. 3/5
Heard this a few times previously, and I really like Genesis. 3/5
3.5 Really classic, but dated.
Bob Marley mon! 4/5 Best songs: Lively Up Yourself, No Woman No Cry, Natty Dread, (and the rest!!)
Solid classic rock album. Aqualung is top 10 classic songs of all time. Standouts: Aqualung, Locomotive Breath, Cross-Eyed Mary, Hymn 43. 4/5
A few good songs on here. I liked Being Borning, How Can You Expect to Be Taken Seriously? So Hard and To Face the Truth. 3.5/5
3.5
Really good, fun album.
3.5/5
One of the best Jazz albums I've heard on this list. Really Really enjoyed it. 3.5
2.5. Not at all what i expected based on the album cover. Really good.
2.5/5 Nothing special here.
Too much, but mostly good
Classic. 4/5
2.5. Really short. Hardly enough time to get to know it.
Better than others in this genre
Really good. 3.5/5
The album starts with one of the most amazing melodies ever written. You know, the lyrics aren’t half bad either! It is a pure classic. The album itself if really good with one memorable song after another. 4/5 Best songs: Imagine, Jealous Guy, Oh, My Love
3/5
2.5. It's good, but not really my thing
3.5/5. Really good.
It’s fine.
Angles is one great song. The rest is very good. I'd like to hear this more often!
Such an unexpected sound and voice. Really enjoyed it. 3.5
Good old stuff. 3/5
2.5. Really?
Really starting the enjoy this one! 4/5
Never listened to this before. Ugh. Not for me. It isn't horrible, but I'd be good never hearing it again. 2/5
Perfection
2.5
Amazing. 4/5 Standouts: You are the Sunshine of my Life, You and I, You Got it Bad Girl, Superstition, i Believe.
It’s Jazz.
I really like Queen, always have, but this album is so unknown to me. I think this album is very influential in their later albums. 3/5
Wow, blast from the past. I've only heard ABBA's greatest hits albums before so it was interesting to hear this album. It wasn't half bad! 3/5
good
Singles: -------------------------- Spellbound (#22 UK) Arabian Knights (#32) Standouts: Spellbound, Arabian Knights, Night Shift Others: Monitor, Halloween, Sins In My Heart Rating: 3
Most of these newer albums will not stand the test of time. Yes, it might be good, and popular. Is it good enough to be on an enduring list like this? Probably not. Just like all the other albums that have made appearances and left the 1001 list...this one will follow. There is nothing special here.
The "Girl Punk" band Sleater-Kinney. Genre: Punk Rock Reminds me of the old punk-rock Go-Go's before they became a pop band. Singles: ------------------------------- One More Hour Little Babies Overall, I think it has a good sound. I think I'd enjoy it more after I've heard it a few more times. Rating: 2.5+
2.5
Country? Wasn't expecting that. Not bad though. 3/5
3.5 catchy
Nice easy jazz
I dont really get the love for Fiona Aaple. It’s a descent album though. 2.5/5
Love this sound. 3.5
2.5 It isn't bad
5/5
Three great songs make the album. 3/5
Easy to listen to and enjoy. Nothing complex, just simple goodness. I like their version of Only Love Can Break Your Heart. 3/5
Good c/w. 3/5
It’s ambient music so it’s supposed to be boring and uninteresting….. but it isn’t, some catchy loops.
Uh….. 2/5
Very good. 3/5
Singles: --------------------------------------- Cherub Rock (#7 US Alt, #31 UK) Today (#4 US Alt, UK #44) Disarm (#8 US Alt, UK #11) Rocket (#28 US Mainstream Rock, #89 UK) Standouts: Today, Others: Cherub Rock, Rocket, Disarm, Luna
Why did it take me 20 years to hear this? I liked it much more than expected. When I seen a Rap album with the Parental Advisory: Explicit Content I was vary wary about what to expect. I like rap, in general, but I hate the over use of N****a, and the F-bombs etc. But, what ever lyrics that gave it this rating were tame compared to the crap I had to listen to with NWA, Ice-T, Common and other artists that destroy their albums by going way over the top with the language. This album has style and class and was very enjoyable with an ‘old school’ vibe. Damn, I loved it. The beats at the beginning of “break” is very nostalgic of some of the early rap that I grew up with. I haven’t heard an album this fresh and interesting since De La Soul’s “Three Feet High and Rising” an album that I give very high praises to. Standouts: Freedom, Remember His Name, Break, What’s Golden, Thin Line, High Fidelity, Hey. It’s such a bummer that it took me twenty years after its release to hear it for the first time. I look forward to hearing more of this one. 3.5/5 (For my first listen) 5.0 for future potential.
Above average. 3.5/5
Standouts: Take Me To the River, I'm Not in Love, Others: Thank You For Sending Me an Angel, The Good Thing, Girls Want to be With The Girls, The Big Country Rating: 3.5
3.5/5. Excellent.
Fine
It’s ambient music so it’s supposed to be boring and uninteresting….. but it isn’t, some catchy loops.
2/5. Not for me
Liked the Trip Hop beats right from the start. Standouts: Overcome (Karmacoma), Pumpkin, Others: Ponderosa, Black Steel, Aftermath, Abbaon Fat Tracks, Hell is Around the Corner, Feed Me Singles: --------------------------------------- Aftermath Ponderosa Overcome Black Steel The Hell E.P. (#12 UK) Pumpkin Rating: 3.5
It’s ok. Never heard of them or any of the songs. 2/5
Punk Rock from 1995 First time I've heard this.... 2/5 (really need to listen to it again).
3.5 Funky, Soulful and Jazzy. Nice
Great album! Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child of Mine. 4/5
Not what I usually listen to, but, at the right time…this could be a great listen. Above average for the genre. 2.5/5
A classic. Start to finish it is amazing.
Arabic music? Well, it was much better than I expected. I’m glad I got to hear it. 2.5 / 5

Really good! 4/5
3/5. Nice sound.
Amazing.
Get’s better everytime i hear it.
Produced by Frank Zappa. Yes, it does have a Zappa-vibe to it for sure. Still getting aquatinted with it. It does get better with time…. 3/5
Ok. 2.5
Eh. One brilliant remake.
Brilliant
Classic 1960s
2.5 It isn’t bad, just none of the songs really stand out to me. Kind of dull.
One of his best.
Side One is 5/5. Side two is good, but not nearly as good as the first half. 4/5
Just ok for me
3
This is the second time I have heard it. I really liked it the first time, now I am thinking that this is brilliant. Can’t wait to hear more of it. 4/5
One of his best. 3.5
2.5. It’s nice. That’s all I have to say about that.
2.5 I think it sounds great. Really dont know it well enough to go higher right now.
3.5. Probably her best.
3.5 I was shocked that is was from 1977. Seriously, I thought it was modern rock. NNED more of this!
Didn’t really get into this one. Maybe good? Need more time….
3.5 Grows on you quickly
I literally gre up with this album, it was released a week before i was born. I think it is one of the most perfect albums ever - start to finish. 5/5 Favorite songs: She’s leaving home and A Day in the Life
This is why this list is so great. It introduced me to albums like this. Love it.
Very good. 3.5/5
Solid
5/5
3.5/5
2.5 Freak on a Leash is classic. All in the Family Rocks, the rest seems repetitive.
Quite a few good tracks. It is an easy album to enjoy. Never heard it before. Girls and Boys sounds familiar, but the rest were completely new to me. I am sure I will keep listening to this one in the future. 3/5 (for now)
I can do without this in my life. Too much Dylan, all at once. Too much of that voice, too much harmonica. I'm sure the songs are better than the singer. I'd prefer if he wrote songs and let others sing them.
This is a wild one. A bit harder than I listen to now, but in my younger days I would have been cranking this.
One of the few Dyan albums that I actually like. 4/5
3.5/5
4.5
Never heard of them or this album before. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It definitely will take me more time to make an honest judgment on it. For now, it's a solid 2.5/5.
I really like Jimi Hendrix, but this album is completely unknown to me. It IS Jimi though, and I am sure I will grow to love it someday.
3.5/5 Old Who albums just aren't as good as their later stuff. That being said, it is an excellent 60s Beatles-like album. Standouts: My Generation, The Kids are Alright I Don't Mind, The Good's Gone, La La La Lies, Much too Much, Please Please Please (The James Brown remake), Legal Matter
It’s fine
They definitely have a sound of their own. It is more than good music, it is interesting. I've heard the album a few times now, and still really don't know it well enough. I do know that I like it and enjoy it, but I still need more time to really appreciate it. There are no songs that really stand out to me as superior. But, like I said, I just haven't heard it enough. How to Disappear Completely is probably the one that I appreciated the most. I'll give it 3.5/5 for now, but I know it deserves more.
Taylor Swift? Never heard of her before. Ha! Joke. I really like her and the album. She is pretty talented. 4/5
3.5/5 He's pretty great. Everything he does is fresh.
it's fine
5/5 One of the classics from my era. Start to finish it is amazing. Favorite song: My Hometown
Interesting music. Nothing I've heard before. I kind of like it. 3/5
Not bad. 3/5 Standouts: "Soft as Snow (But Warm Inside)"
A few classics here. Standouts: American Girl, Breakdown, 3.5
Classic Stevie Wonder. Standouts: Boogie On Reggae Woman, You Haven't Done Nothin', They Won't Go When I Go Others: Creepin', Heaven is 10 Zillion Light Years Away, Please Don't Go 4/5
One great song...the rest is fine but nothing great. 3/5
Great album. Never heard the whole thing before but know some of the songs quite well. Standouts: Strangelove, Little 15, Never Let Me Down Again and Behind the Wheel. A lot of great tracks. 3.5/5
When I think of Ska, this is one of the bands that comes to mind. Terry Hall just passed away the other day and I really hoped I would get to heard this album to honor him. I really enjoyed More Specials when it appeared on this list. Stand Outs: A Message to You Rudy, Others: Monkey Man, Dawning of a New Era, You’re Wondering Now 3.5
I kinda like it.3.5
Love it
Classic. 4.5/5 All great.
Unique. Interesting sounds. Not sure about it yet. Will need more time, but I am favorable in my opinion. 2.5
This is a difficult one to rate after one day of listening. I was shocked that this was something from 2000. It sounded much older. I don't know Ute Lemper and don't know if this is a typical sound for her or this is something unique. The songs sound like they are from musical theater - which isn't really a good thing for me. I think with time and more study, I can start to appreciate it more. Time will tell... for now, 2.5 with potential for more.
While You See a Chance is awesome and Arc of a Diver is very good. The rest of the album is just in the "pretty good" range for me. 3/5
Sigur Rós is from Iceland. This is their 2nd album. Genre: Post-rock, dream pop, ambient, art rock, shoegazing 'Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs' (wikipedia) Singles: Svefn-g-englar, Ný batterí The first song, "Svefn-g-englar" is amazing. The rest of the album is very nice to listen to. Standouts: Svefn-g-englar Others: Ny batteri, Agaetis byrijun This will go onto my mood music playlist for sure. 3/5
This is the debut album of Crosby, Still and Nash. For me, it is hard to believe that there was ever a time when they were unknowns. In 1969, I was two years old. I didn't know them until much later. I knew many of their songs growing up but didn't really know the group until the Album Daylight Again came out in the early 80s. THAT album I loved. Start to finish - it was a masterpiece to my teenage ears. So, for me to hear this album, now, for the first time probably is pretty wild. It starts with two iconic songs in classic rock: "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and "Marrakesh Express." The rest of the album is what you expect from their harmonies and the late 1960s. It's pretty good. Today not quite as good to hear as it would have been back in the time it was released. I really love the album cover too. Who were they at the time this photo was taken? I don't know much of their early years, but this photo looks like a real, honest photo of them before fame. Simple. and definitely not rich. Three dudes, hanging out, playing some music and dreaming of what could be. It's a real good album to listen to, I enjoyed it quite a bit. 3.5/5.
Not a fan. Couple good - classic - songs and a lot of typical Bob Dylan in between.
Heard this album just a couple of weeks ago, and mostly thought it was underwhelming. Listening to it again today, I am coming around to it. There are 2-3 really great songs, and the more I listen to the rest, the more I am liking it. I think my first reaction was that this was maybe a 2/5, I'll go up to 3/5 for now, but I think I'll soon be adding this one to the "glad it was on the list" list. :)
Good
2.5 Weird sound. The first song on the album is pretty good, the rest....eh.
Interesting
3.5 Better than average. Enjoyable.
Interesting
I don't know what it is about this album that I like. It isn't what I normally listen to and I'm not saying I think it is amazing. I just really enjoyed it. Background music with a bonus. It's different. I plan to keep playing this one in the future.
3.5 Know it well
4.5 This album is amazing. It just might be a 5/5 for me in the near future.
I like Bowie. This one is different and will take some time to get used to. A couple of tracks stand out to me when listening. I really should have looked at the titles while they were playing..... good, but nothing like Ziggy Stardust Bowie... 3/5

“not my bag baby” - Austin Powers. 2/5
It’s a nice album.
It’s nice 2.5
First time hearing this one. Never heard of Sufjan Stevens before. The album is fine. I think it will take time to get to know it better. For now, it's a 2.5
Not too bad. Favorite Track: Soy loco por ti, América 2.5
Really like this one. It is one I have known quite well since it was released 32 years ago! That's just crazy. Favorite Tracks: Nothing Compares 2 U, Three Babies, Feel So Different, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got. 4/5

2/5 Sounds fine, but not for me
Standouts: Miss World, Softer Softest, I Think That I Would Die Others: Violet, Asking For It, Plump, Doll Parts 3.5
Standouts: Repeater Other: Merchandise, Greed. I’ve heard this album before. The only song that I remembered was ‘Repeater’. Everything else was like hearing it for the first time. You can tell they are talented. I think that the songs would be better if sung by someone with a unique and stand-out voice. The vocals just seemed like any number of bar-bands playing the hits of other artists. I think this album is on the list because musically (not vocally) the album does seem to be ahead of its time and was probably an influence on later artists. It is barely above average. 3/5
It’s pretty good. I know a few of the songs and the rest are sung by that same unique voice. Question is, will that voice get tired after hearing too much of it? For now, I like it. 3/5
It’s hard not to love the voice of Karen Carpenter. So sweet. The album is just too much…. Its like eating a chocolate cake, topped with snickers bars, toped with extra chocolate syrup, candy sprinkles and topped that with another whole entire chocolate cake. Too much sweet. Stop already. I’ll stick to the greatest hits album. Good Songs: Close to You, We've Only Just Begun Bad Songs: Help, Reason To Believe, I'll Never Fall In Love Again, Baby It's You
4.5 So close to a perfect 5.0
That Lady! Who’s that lady? Love it. The rest of the album is strong. Smooth. Don’t let me be lonely tonight, Listen to the Music, Summer Breeze 3.5/5
Definitely something I usually get excited about hearing for the first time... First impression was a little less than expected. Hope it grows on me! 2.5
Standouts: The Witch, Do You Love Me, Roll Over Beethoven, Have Love Will Travel, Psycho, Money (That's What I Want), Nighttime Is The Right Time, Good Golly Miss Molly. 3/5
It's nice, but does it belong on this list?
it's alright. 2.5/5
5/5 Classic
Not my choice of music. I did give it a chance, but it really didn’t do much for me. 2.5/5 (above average)
Something interesting and likable about the album. No idea what he's singing about, but the songs and melody are very nice. I do know the name Serge Gainsbourg. I was always a fan of the je t'aime, Moi non plus. If you have never heard it, give it a listen It is quite sexy - even orgasmic! He and Jane Birkin practically make love while singing the entire song. Wish that was on this album! 3/5
Nope, he's too over the top for me. I can stand a song or two here and there, but a whole album of that.... I'll pass. 2.5/5
Yep, Johnny singing at a prison again. "Best "bad boy" lyrics in a song ever" goes to: "I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die" from Folsom Prison Blues. The audience and banter give the album its charm and character. It's one of the better live albums I've heard on this list. 3.5/5
Average at best. Generic. 2.5/5
I really wanted to like it. It just didn't do much for me. It isn't bad and I think if I heard it enough times, it would be better, but for now, it is utterly forgettable. 2.5/5
Nice, but nearly as classic as “21”. 3/5
3.5 Really good music. It was something special when it came out and it still holds up well. 3.5
Love it!
Love his voice!
5/5. Classic. Brilliant from start to finish.
1.5
3/5 I like PSBs but didn't know this album at all. It’s pretty good. Need to hear it again
3.5 There were some really good tracks!

They sound lust like another band I’ve heard…l I won’t say who, but it begins with an “O” and ends in “asis”….. 3/5
Standouts: The Naughty Little Flea, One More Dance. 3/5
Sounfds good. Just getting to know it.
Interesting sounds and Nick Cave’s voice makes this album standout. 3/5

4 Fantastic album. I give it a solid 4/5 for now.
One of my favorites from the era. Loved this when it came out. I think it still holds up pretty well. 4/5
Really great album. It was a classic from the day it was released. 4.5
Very average. 2018. This isn't old enough of an album to be considered for a list like this. There are so many brilliant albums that aren't on the list, and this one is? 2.5
Good sound. I’d definitely like to kepp listening to this one. 3/5
One really great song, the rest is pretty nice to listen to.... 3/5
Two year ago, I never heard of the Fall, now I get excited when I see another album on the list. Enjoyable! But don’t this one well enough yet. 3/5
Actually really liked this one. Never heard of him before. Not exactly the kind of music I listen to, but I thought it was pretty good. I'd like to hear more of it.
One of their better early albums. I prefer the 70s and 80s albums, but this is good. 3.5/5
Solid album. Definitely not a Beach Boys album. Favorite tracks: Thoughts of You, Time, Moonshine, You and I, End of the Show 3.5/5
Waaaaay better than I was expecting. Very enjoyable old school sound. 3/5
What a Drag it is to get old….. Classic. One of their best! BUT, I hate it when songs from UK and US versions are not the same. I considered both versions in my ratings. Listening to just one over the other would result in a lower rating. Standouts: Mother's Little Helper, Lady Jane, Under My Thumb, Out of Time, Paint it Black (U.S. Version of the Album) Others: Stupid Girl, Going Home 4.5/5
Excellent. 4/5 Outstanding Album. Standouts: This Fire, Michael, Darts of Treasure, Take Me Out, The Dark of the Matinee, Jacqueline, 40.
I've never heard of Beach House before and my first impression - before listening - was that I probably wouldn't like it... BUT, then I started the album. Every song is just the kind of music that I tend to like. I like the "dream pop" category it has been placed in. If this is dream pop, then I want to hear more. I liked the immediately from the start. Standouts: Zebra, Used to Be 3/5
3/5 It's Nice. Wouldn't see it out often though.
4.5 Great album. Standouts: Golden Years, TVC 15 Others: Station to Station
5/5 Absolute Classic Standouts: Money For Nothing, Your Latest Trick, Why Worry, Brothers in Arms, So Far Away, Walk of Life, The Man's Too Strong, One World.... Every song basically....
Not horrible per se but not my kind of music. 2.5
Billy Joel was great before album came out, but this album made him a superstar. With classics like My Life, Movin' Out, Just the Way You Are, and She's Always a Woman this album should be mostly familiar to any music fan. Then the rest of the album is full of some of Billy's best loved songs by true fans such as Scene's From an Italian Restaurant, Vienna, and my personal favorite: Everybody Has a Dream. The only other song not mentioned is Get it Right the First Time and it's not too bad either. One of the easiest 5/5 that I have given. Only 70 of the 950 albums I have rated have received a 5/5 rating from me (about 7%).
First time hearing this one. First impression: Weird collection of ok music. Some songs sound like Queen. Favorite Tracks: Sometimes I Don't Know, I Don't Wanna Tie You Down, Just One Victory Least Favorite: Medley 3.0
"Twinkle, twinkle Blah, blah, blah" 40+ songs??!! But, it's punk, post punk, hard-core punk, so each song is reasonably short. It's still a longer than average album, but not bad. Most of the songs are good, some really good and others kinda sound like the Red Hot Chili Peppers (a little bit). Overall, I enjoyed it. Standouts: #1 Hit Song (Blah Blah Blah!), Don't Look Down, But really there are a lot of great little songs on here! Overall : 4/5
Love their sound! Standouts: Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia, Invincible and Soldier's Poem
Genre: Trip hop First time for me. Never heard of the band, don't know the album. Singles: None Songs that appear on best of the band lists: -------------------------------------------------- Some Kind of Kink, Keeping Pigs Together, The Rake, Best Tracks: Maybe... Keeping the Pigs together. Many songs are just repetitive loops, and aren't exactly exciting... I really like trip-hop, but this one just doesn't do it for me...not yet anyways. Maybe I need more time with it. 2.5 for now...
Some great songs. God Only Knows, Wouldn't it Be Nice, Sloop John B The rest is good. 4/5
Used to the “THE” Album…today it’s good, but over played over the years.
I'm not a Thin Lizzy fan...and I don’t usually like live albums….but, this album, pulls it off. A good selection of songs, performed well in front of a crowd. After this listen, i just might pay more attention to other Thin Lizzy albums. Surprised. I am. 3/5
E-Pro is a great alt rock #1 track. Girl is a great follow up. The rest of the album is typical Beck. Which is always good. 3.5
Classic 80s! It's just SO 80s and a bit dated today. Standouts: Take on Me, The Sun Always Shines on TV, Hunting High and Low. Singles: --------------------------- Take on Me (#1 all over the world) Love is Reason (Released in Norway and Philippines) The Sun Always Shines on TV (Top 10) Train of Thought (#5 IRE, #8 UK, #14 GER) Hunting High and Low (Top 10 world-wide, but not in USA)

Of all the Elvis albums...this makes the list? Ok.... Standouts: Fever Others: The Girl of My Best Friend, Soldier Boy, Rating: 2.5

Classic Cure Standouts: Pictures of You, Lovesong, Lullaby, Fascination Street, Others: Plainsong, Closedown, Last Dance, Disintegration, Homesick, Rating: 3.5/5
Excellent Steely Dan album! Standouts: ---------------- Rikki Don't Lose That Number Pretzel Logic Others: --------------------- Charlie Freak Barrytown East St. Louis Toodle-oo With a Gun Any Major Dude Will Tell You Through With Buzz Parker's Band Night by Night Rating: 4/5
Really nice Jazz album by a master. Born in 1899 he was active on the music scene for much of the early American Swing and Jazz era. There are not many music lovers that have never heard of Duke Ellington. Not something I'd listen to often, but it is great! 4/5
A couple of good catchy songs. Standouts: Holy Water, Bury Me Deep in Love Others: Kelly's Blues, Save What You Can 3/5
“The most laid back HOUSE album I’ve ever heard” he said, while yawning. I think Rock and Roll is safe…. While it isn't much of a 'HOUSE' album, I think it is really good. I hate the mispronounced names in the song listing all the 80's music stars. Seriously? Jack Coogar Mellencamp, Cyndi Looper....ridiculous. That aside, the album is quite enjoyable in it's own way. At the start of the day I was thinking this was a 2/5 at best, now after listening to it all day, I'm at 3.5.

2.5 Difficult listen. Odd music.
8th album released by the Fall. Genre: Post-Punk First Impression: Nice Looking at the list of the best The Fall songs. The only two songs from this album are not on the Original UK LP: Couldn't Get Ahead and Cruisers Creek. Standouts: Barmy, Paint Work, Others: Mansion, I Am Damo Suzuki Standouts From 1997 CD: Cruisers Creek, Couldn't Get Ahead Rating: 3.5
Standouts: Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast Others: Children of the Damned, Hallowed Be Thy Name Great sound! 3.5
Respect was #1 in the USA the day I was born. This is the first time I have heard the album. Respect is classic Aretha. The rest of the album is good. I've never been to crazy of a fan of her. 3/5
His first album post-Beatles could not be more unlike the Beatles if he tried. As a Beatles fan - and a McCartney fan I was looking forward to hearing this album, since I really never heard it before. I was more into the later McCartney stuff. Good? Yes, Different? Definitely. I can see this being a great album, after I get used to it but for now, on this first listen, I'll leave it a 3/5.
Singles: ------------------ In da Club (#1 USA, #3 UK) 21 Questions (#1 USA, #6, UK) P.I.M.P. (#3 USA, #5 UK) If I Can't (#76 USA, #10 UK) Other good tracks: What Up Gangsta, Many Men, Patiently Waiting, High All The Time, If He Can't, Back Down, Wanksta (Bonus) 4.5/5

It's kind of loud! LOL.. Good for what it is, but not my thing. 2.5
Psycho Killer is the star of this album. The rest is good too. :) Brian Eno became a fan and became involved with the talking heads. I definitely see a correlation between the two of them. A level of brilliance that isn't appreciated by the average music listener. 3/5
First listen. I know "Heroes" but that's it from the album. The rest is new to me. Notable Songs: Joe the Lion, Heroes, Beauty and Beast Singles: ------------------------------------------ Heroes (#4 UK) Beauty and Beast (#39 UK) Not much stands out to a first time listener of the album. I think it's probably better than I am thinking after the first day. I'm sure my score will rise with future listens... For now... 2.5/5
Great music…. 4/5
Singles from Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor (#1 UK, #7 US Alt) When the Sun Goes Down (#1 UK) Standouts: I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor Rating: 3
3/5
Brilliantly different. And years ahead of its time. Frankie Teardrop is a song that belongs in a Gasper Noé movie. It is a deep and troubled journey to hell. Much of the album feels that way as well. The more I listen the more I like it. 3.5/5
Yesterday I had Snoop Dogg's Doggy Style, today I have The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy. I was interesting in hearing Snoop Dogg, but right away I hated it. Ended up giving it a 1/5. Despicable, misogynistic crap! Today, I get to listen to this crew.... Never heard of them before. Right from the start, I was impressed! Now THIS is hip hop. Good quality music without mention of Nigga's, Bitches, Ho's or any "fuck da police" cop killing. We need more music like this. I really enjoyed this. It is smart and entertaining and doesn't seem to insult anyone, any race or any sex. They did a cover of California Uber Alles - The Dead Kennedy's classic. They killed it! Can't wait to hear more of this! 3/5
Very enjoyable! Love Time of the Season! It's a GOAT. This album is full of fun little songs that I can't help but like. 4/5
Pretty good.
Not something I would listen to often - BUT, this kicks ass for what it is. 3.5/5
Really great sound! 3.5
The world was made a worse place because of this album exists in it. Misogynistic crap! A disgrace To women and an entire race. 0/5
Wow. Never heard of this guy before . I like it.
Unimpressive. 2/5
3.5 Some songs better than others, but overall really good.
Singles: --------------------------------- King / Food for Thought (#4 UK) My Way of Thinking / I Think It's Going to Rain Today (#6 UK) 3.5
Interesting. Not sure how much i like it….
Huge when it came out. Lenny was such a unique performer. Everyone loved or hated him. Standouts: Let Love Rule, I Build This Garden For Us, Does Anybody Out There Even Care? Mr. Cab Driver. Others: Sittin’ on Top of The World, Freedom Train, My Precious Love, Be. 3.5 maybe 4

Iconic. Standouts: Stand, Orange Crush, Pop Song '89 Others: Get Up, Hairshirt, I Remember California, You Are Everything, World Leader Pretend. 4/5
3/.55 A few great songs.
It's one of those albums you can put in the really good category.... Just not too sure that it is something that I really get into. First time hearing it. I think with more listens I will grow to like it more but for now it is a 2.5
Hard to enjoy this style of freeform jazz. It is very complex. I like it more than many other albums on this list though. 2.5/5
Not that great. 2.5
Completely new to me. Definitely something I should like. 3/5
3.5. Good Jazz.
Very just OK album.
Really good by Swift. Standouts: Willow, Champagne Problems, Tis the Damn Season, No Body No Crime, Dorothea, Coney Island, Long Story Short, Marjorie, Tolerate It, Evermore. 3.5/5
2.5
Nice. 3.5/5
3/5 Three pretty good songs.
Wordy Rappinghood and Genius of Love are two of the greatest dance tracks of the 80’s. Genius of Love is probably one of the best song of the 80s period. It still sounds amazing today. Tom Tom Theme just fills in some time before L’Elephant. Which is another great dance track. As above, So Below is decent. Lorelei is catchy with a good beat. On On On On… has a fun beat. Under The Boardwalk….not a fan of this one…l very over covered song. Above average album. 3.5/5
Nice. I can see how it would have been an influence to other artists
Standouts: Mother, Love, Power to the People 3.5 Solid Album.
3/5. Not too bad.
4.5 Outstanding!
Really good album.
Not for me
Average at best 2.5
Is it LOUD? Yes. Does it ROCK? Yes. Is it something I would personally listen to? No, not really. When something like this comes up in this list. I begrudgingly listen. Sometimes I'm surprised. This album is something that I think if I knew it when it came out, I might hold it in higher regard. In 1999 I think I was more open to this kind of music. Today, I'm older and my tastes have changed. I think it is really good - for the genre. I can see why people like it. The guitars and drums are amazing. There is some screaming - a bit more than I enjoy as a 56 year old. Let me have another shot of Jim Beam. I think it is helping! Standouts: Wait and Bleed, Spit it Out (both were #1 on the US Mainstream Rock chart). Overall: 3/5
This is an album I didn't know when it came out. My love for OMD came after I got their Greatest Hits album. I only knew a couple songs at the time, but I remember thinking that OMD was frigging great! I love the sound. Now, I have a chance to go back in time and experience this album - which contains a couple songs from that amazing GH album and more great songs! Standouts: Souvenir, Joan of Arc (Maid of New Orleans), Joan of Arc, She's Leaving, The New Stone Age Other Greats: Georgia, The Beginning and the End
Duran Duran BEFORE there was a Duran Duran. Wild. This is not what I was expecting. What a good album! It starts with Quiet Again (the single from the album). It is probably the least interesting song on the album. The album gets better from there. Fall in love with Me is pretty good. It has that Duran Duran sound but also some other 80s bands. The song Despair. Is slow and unbelievably amazing. The first think I thought of was how it sounded like Linkin Park (or how Linkin Park sounds like this). It is my absolute favorite song on the album. The haunting melody sucks me right in. It's nearly six minutes long and I didn't want it to end.... In Vogue isn't nearly as exciting or haunting, but it is a solid song. Halloween starts the second side. More Duran Duran sound. Of course, Japan was several years ahead of Duran Duran - so don't get me wrong... I'm not saying THEY sound like Duran Duran....vice versa... All Tomorrow's Parties was the second single from the album. It is a song originally done by the Velvet Underground and Nico. So, it may be familiar to some. Next is Alien and concludes with The Other Side of Life. Alien is kind of forgettable, but the Other Side of Life has a soft and melancholy melody. I am a sucker for the slow stuff and this one just captured me. Will I listen to this again and again? Yes. Did it belong on this list. Yes, I am so glad it was. 4/5
Very nice!
Good
One classic rock anthem….the rest is ok, I guess. 3/5
Really close to being a Mother F-ing Classic! Standouts: Animal, Love Bites, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Armageddon It, Hysteria, Women, Rocket. Others: Gods of War, Don't Shoot Shotgun, Excitable, Love and Affection 4.5/5
Doesn’t hold up. But still some good songs.
Eh ok
The album starts with the Kate Bush classic: Running Up that Hill (A Deal with God). It's all downhill from there! LOL. Joking! Kate Bush does not go down easy for me. She has an odd sound and it takes some time to get used to and start to enjoy. Standouts: Running Up that Hill, Hounds of Love, Cloudbursting, The Big Sky. Songs like Mother Stands for Comfort are not as exciting as some of her other songs, but this is the kind of stuff that I like the most. Same goes for And Dream of Sheep. Hello Earth is another wonderful song and a great way to end a very good album. But, then it followed with The Morning Fog... That one should have been put somewhere else in the album. Overall 3.5/5
Different than I was expecting
Classic. 5/5
4/5 There is something good about this one. It's old, never heard of him or any other music before but I dig it, baby...yeah... Standouts: Terrapin, No Good Trying, Others: Love You, No Man’s Land, Dark Globe, Here I Go, Golden Hair, Long Gone, She Took A Long Cold Look, Feel, If it’s in You
Never heard of the Meat Puppets until Nirvana’s Unplugged album came out. This is my first listen to the album. They have a great sound. Why have I not heard this before? I was 17 in 1984…. This could have been with me my whole life… Right from the start, it rocks. Plateau might be one of the best songs I never heard before! Standouts: Plateau, Oh Me, Lake of Fire, Lost Others: Split Myself in Two, Climbing, I’m a Mindless Idiot, The Whistling Song, What to Do (bonus track) 3.5/5
Alt Rock band, the Vines from Australia. Their Debut album. Singles: ----------------------------------------------- "Highly Evolved" (UK, 32) "Get Free" (#7 US Modern Rock, #24 UK) "Outtathaway!" Interesting. 3/5
Very good to excellent. Standouts: School, Bloody Well Right, Dreamer. The rest of the songs are good as well.
4.5/5. Unbelievable. Best when combining both US and international releases. This is practically a greatest hits album by itself! Standouts: Purple Haze, Foxy Lady, Wind Cries Mary, Hey Joe, Fire, Are You Experienced?, Stone Free, Manic Depression, Highway Chile.
4.5 Fav track Black Cat!
Better than expected. Hard rocking…great when the mood is right. Stand outs: Indians, I am the Law, Caught in a Mosh 3/5
3.5 Jukebox Rebel picks: “I Hate You” (10) • “Blast Off!” (9.6) • “Monk Time” (9.5).
Not something I grew up listening to, but when I was living in Europe I was made aware of this type of music. Some of it I really like, this is not one that I heard before. It does work for me mostly... other times it just seems repetitive and uninspired. Where do I begin is the exception - it is a unique break from the never ending big beats.... A few good tracks: Block Rockin' Beats, Setting Sun, Eletrobank, The Private Psychedelic Reel, Where Do I Begin. 3.5/5
The best track on the album is contained in the bonus material, L'Amourir (The Love Beat). It simply rocks! Next favorite is Pas Mal (Not Bad) and that says it, not bad at all. The rest of the album in interesting. I think I need more time to get to know it better. 3/5
Synth Pop. Never heard this before. The band name is familiar but didn't know any of the songs going in. Overall, I was very favorable. I think with more listens it will only get better. Standout: The Mother We Share. Singles: ---------------------------------------- The Mother We Share (US ALT #12, UK #38) Recover (#91 UK) Gun (#55 UK) Lies (#105 UK) We Sink Under the Tide Tether Pretty good. 3/5
Seems pretty decent. Need to hear more... 2.5
What's good: Drums and guitars What's bad (horrible): Scream/yell/barking of the lead "singer", Every song is the same. The album just goes on forever. The drummer kicks ass and the guitars are fast and hard. It would have been a better album just as an instrumental, the 'singer' really destroyed the album. Best track is probably "Scum". 2.5/5
Two days in a row I’ve had noise come up in this list. Yesterday it was Napalm Death’s “Scum”. That was previously the worst rated album on this list….until this album took the honor from them. Both are horrible and feature screaming rather than singing. Napalm Death at least had amazing drums and guitars and I gave it a two star rating. This album has zero going for it. When I heard they did of cover of Moi non plus I was intrigued…. Briefly. It was barely recognizable, but still I would consider it to be the highlight of this album. 1.5/5
Its full of covers. They are good but the album only a couple original songs. Hardly worth considering a Stones classic. Its enjoyable but unoriginal. 3.5/5
It's a very nice album. 3.5
Wow, I might have heard this one once before... I really liked it. It almost reminds me of an album that I LOVE by Jewel, "Pieces of You". Just a little. I think this one will become a favorite of mine in no time. 3.5
3/5
Mediocre at best. Nothing special here. I hear the are big in Finland - the rest of the is just fine without them. 2.5/5
Very enjoyable. Some tunes were catch, good lyrics. Favorite Tracks: Common People, Disco 2000, Somethings Changed, Mis-Shapes, Sorted for E's & Wizz 4/5
Heard of the band before, but didn’t know anything from the album. This was a nice surprise. Definitely a different band with a unique style and cadence. I thought it was a great listen. Favorite tracks: Soft, The Bucket, For Kicks, Slow Night So Long, King of the Rodeo, Taper Jean Girl, Milk. 3.5/5
An important album, but not a fun listen. Once in a lifetime is enough. 2/5
First time hearing this. I have heard of the band before but was unfamiliar with their music. This album is quiet, reserved and amazing. Standouts: Sweet Jane, Misguided Angle, Blue Moon Revisited, I'm So Lonely I Could Cry, Walking After Midnight. Others: I Don't Get it. Mining for Gold, Postcard Blues. Amazing album. I can't believe I've never heard it before. 4/5

Very good album. Standouts: The Suburbs, Ready to Start, City with No Children, Month of May, We Used to Wait, Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) Others: Wasted Hours, Speaking in Tongues 3.5/5
She's an odd one. Her music really takes time to get into. Her voice...sometimes so great and other times so annoying. The first track, Sat in Your Lap, is a perfect example of this contrast. Standouts: Night of the Swallow, All of the Love Others: There Goes a Tenner, Suspended in Gaffa, Sat in Your Lap, The Dreaming, Leave it Open, Get Out of My House Rating: 3/5
A few good songs, the rest seem ok.... Standouts: Kowalski, Star 3/5
Definitely the BEST world album on this list. Great music, great funk, Lyrics - no idea, but damn fun to listen to and sing along with at times! Umbabaruauma! Gol! Great football song. I remember hearing that Rod Stewart's Do You Think I'm Sexy borrowed the melody from Taj Mahal. After hearing I definitely get it. Standouts: Ponta de Lança Africano (Umbabarauma), Taj Mahal, Hermes Trismegisto Escreveu, O filosofo, O plebeu, Xica da Silva, Fantástico! Loved it. 4.5/5
His voice. Don't know whether to love it or hate it. Well, I am loving it today. After the Gold Rush is an album I've heard before. I know the song, \"Only Love Can Break Your Heart\" more because it was on a fellow CSN&Y, Graham Nash's album. Then of course it was again made popular by Saint Etienne. (She is adorable singing it in the video!) The album is solid though with a lot of good tracks. Standouts: After the Gold Rush, Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Don't Let It Bring You Down, Southern Man, Till The Morning Comes, 3.5/5
A very 80s sound. I knew the song Perfect Way, but that was it. It is heavy on the drums and I like the beats. Singing was eh….. Still I did enjoy the listen… Standout: Perfect Way 3/5
Something special

Really good country album. Standouts: Slow Burn, Rainbow, Mother, Lonely Weekend, Butterflies, Oh, What a World, Space Cowboy. High Horse is pretty good too, but a different sound from the rest of the album. 4/5
Classic! Standouts: My Name Is, Guilty Conscience, '97 Bonnie & Clyde, My Fault, Just Don't Give a F&%$,
This was 1977 - Nobody was doing music quite like this. To listen to it now, it loses a bit of the novelty it once had - but it is still interesting and a good listen. Standouts: Trans Europe Express, The Hall of Mirrors, Others: Showroom Dummies 4/5
This one is new to me. Never heard of Mike Ladd before. Definitely a new and fresh sound. I like it. 3/5
Easy listen. Enjoyable. 3.5

Standouts: Independent Women Part I, Survivor, Bootylicious, Emotion, Nasty Girl. 4/5

It is kind of weird. British rap and honestly his 'nigga' just don't sound right. I thought Brits were more polite and polished for that.... The music of the album is quite good and I definitely felt entertained. 3/5

Standouts: School's Out Next best: Public Animal #9, Alma Mater I like Alice Cooper, but I think a greatest hits album is more my speed. The rest of the songs don't grab my attention too much. School's Out is CLASSIC but the rest....eh. The songs I do like are enough to give it a 3/5 and I'll bump it up .5 due to the Alice Cooper name. 3.5 / 5

Never heard of this guy before - or the Czars either. The Album cover doesn't do the album any good. The cover sucks, the music inside is amazing. Smart, thought provoking lyrics. Truly wonderful. Standouts: Jesus Hates Faggots, Marz, It's Easier, Queen of Denmark Others: TC and the Honeybear, Where Dreams Go to Die, Sigourney Weaver, Chicken Bones, Silver Platter Club, Outer Space, Caramel, 4/5

A more listenable noise-rock album than some of the others I've head on this list. This one was not as loud and obnoxious and it did have rhythm and lyrics I could understand. So, it has that going for it. It isn't horrible.... 2.5

Jazz is difficult to rate. On one hand, it's boring. On the other hand, the musicians are playing their asses off. Each song is full of complex musical runs by pianist, bass player, drummer etc. Bottom line: How did it make you feel? 3.5
Weird. But weird can be good. The question is: Is this a good weird or just plain weird. Duck Stab: --------------------------------------- Constantinople - Good weird. Sinister Exaggerator - Weird The Booker Tease - Instrumentally weird (good). Blue Rosebuds - Fairly good weird Laughing Song - Dr. Demento Weird (good). Bach is Dead - Another Dementedly weird song. Elvis & His Boss - Just Weird. Buster & Glen: ----------------------------------------------- Lizard Lady - Just weird. Semolina - Annoyingly weird. Birthday Boy - drieW. (A backwards 'weird') Weight-Lifting Lulu - Boringly weird. Krafty Cheese - Uninterestingly weird Hello Skinny - A recognizably weird melody. (Good) The Electrocutioner - Weird at its best. (Good) The Duck Stab side was a 4/5 and the Buster & Glen side was maybe a 3. I'll give it a 3.5 because of the fun Duck Stab side.
Not much to say here... 2.5

Never heard of them before ... for sure. Genre: Electronic, downtempo, ambient, trip hop, psychedelia 1998 It has all the elements I have grown to appreciate by listening to the albums on this list. A couple of years ago I would have dismissed it with giving it a chance. It is great, no. It is good, not sure. Did I enjoy the experience. I think so. The album is kinda ok, until it gets towards the end and that's when it picks up. Best songs: Roygbiv, Aquarius, Olson Nice to listen to but really just as background music or music to sleep to. 3.5
MFC! Mother F. Classic! 1984/Jump, Panama, Hot For Teacher, I'll Wait... the list goes on....Top Jimmy, Drop Dead Legs,
Standouts: Pristeen, Easy Easy Rider, Promise Land, Hanging Out & Hung Up on the Line, If You Loved Me at All, Safesurfer, You..., Beautiful Love, Las Vegas Basement,

Why have I not heard of these guys before? I was completely shocked and surprised how much I like this! 2007, Art Rock Singles: ------------------------------------------ Herculean (#22, UK) Kingdom of Doom (#20, UK) Green Fields (#51, UK) Standouts: 80's Life, Kingdom of Doom, Herculean, Love every song! An easy 4/5. Can't wait to hear more of this one!
It's a fine album. So many country albums that are significantly better than this that are omitted. Nothing against this album or singer, but why this one? 3/5
GREAT Album. Big Fan of them, but I've never heard this one before! Singles: ----------------------------------- Blue Orchid (UK #7, US ALT #9) My Doorbell (UK #10, US ALT #13) The Denial Twist (UK #10, US ALT #5) Standouts: Blue Orchid, My Doorbell, The Denial Twist, The Nurse, I'm Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely) 4/5
Not a fan of her voice. I think she's like Joan Baez or someone like that. Talented and good, but it just doesn't sound great in my ears. Eli's Coming but Three Dog Night did it much better. Standouts: Lucky, Eli's Coming, Emmie, December's Boudoir
If someone come out today singing like this, I don't she would make it...but for the time, this was pretty great. What an album. Really glad that this is here on the list. I think it is really nice. I heard it for the first time just before Christmas. Now, I know her name and was excited to see it come up today. Not sure if any one really stands out among the rest. Maybe Emily if I was forced to pick one. The entire album is an amazing journey or singing, orchestral music and wonder melodies. Her voice reminds me of that song that plays before each episode of "Weeds" (Tiny Boxes). Anyone else? 3.5/5
Standouts: Time Travelin' (A Tribute to Fela). The 6th Sense, A Film Called Pimp, Payback is a Grandmother, Geto Heaven Remix T.S.O.I., Pops Rap III...All My Children 3.5
A hard one to rate. The album isn't very good to listen to now, but I can see how back in the day it was significant. When I rate albums here, I usually rate them based on how likely I am to "want" to listen to it again at sometime in the future and how likely I am to include tracks on playlists. Well, this one, while good, doesn't get much from me on either aspect. I probably will never choose to listen to it again and maybe one or two songs could go on a 'old nostalgic' playlist... How good is it, 4/5 How likely will I listen to it again: 2/5 Overall: 3.5/5
What an amazing listen. Never heard of these guys before this project. Sign me up! I think this was great. 4/5
Heard this before. I really enjoy the foreign album on this list, this one I'm not too sure of. It's nice, but I'm not getting it. 3/5
That first track...cool man, yeah baby...that's cool. dig it? Standouts: Back at the Chicken Shack, When I Grow too Old to Dream, On the Sunny Side of the Street (Bonus). 4/5
Love Plus One is one of my favorites from the 1980s. This is a very 80's funky new wave album. What's not to like? Standouts: Love Plus One, Favorite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), Fantastic Day, Nobody's Fool (Bonus) Corny lyrics, but excellent music. 3.5
It starts with one of my favorite Steely Dan songs, "Bodhisattva". Not my favorite, but one of them yes! Standouts: My Old School, Bodhisattva, Razor Boy, Show Biz Kids, The Boston Rag.... 5/5
3.5 Good, but her voice can be a little tiring after a while.
1973 Prog Rock Not for everyone. Some, I'm sure, won't get it or have patients for it. Those that are into Prog Rock definitely get it. Me? I'm middle-of-the-road. There is a time and place when I think this is quite a nice journey and other times, I just don't have the time or energy to give it a listen. There are times when I think the album is amazing...but then there are long lulls. Peaks and valleys abound! When it hits, it hits hard... 3.5/5
It is what it is. Old. Portuguese. Outdated. It isn't horrible though. :) 3/5
Not as great as their other albums, but Child in Time is an ultimate classic! Standouts: Child in Time 4/5

It's a good album. Is it one of the best country albums ever? no. I can appreciate it being on this list but omitting so many other classics - it just doesn't make sense. 5/5: Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, 4/5: Drunken Angel, Concrete and Barbed Wire Rating: 3.5

Genre: Post-rock, Jazz fusion 1996 The most well known songs: Djed, Glass Museum (According to Ranker.com) and The Taut and the Tame was a single along with Djed. Don't know these guys or the music. Djed is a 21 minute long song. This one is a slow burn. It's not something you pick up, listen to and fall in love with immediately. I've been listening for a while now, and I'm not getting it. I can see some people getting into it after maybe a 100 listens. Who has the patients for that? I can see putting this on a playlist of songs to study to. Perfect for that. Djed just seems really long and not very interesting honestly. Glass Museum has a dreamy quality to it that makes it stand out as the 'best' on the album. A Survey has a Pink Floyd sound that never seems to take off. On a good day this is nothing more than a 3 / 5. Rating:
Roxy Music was much bigger in the UK and Europe than the USA so we don't have the same exposure to them. Standouts (5/5): Do the Strand, For Your Pleasure, Others (4/5): In Every Dream Home a Heartache, The Bogus Man, Beauty Queen, Strictly Confidential, Rating: 4/5
It's a great album. You could call it a Greatest Hits album right? No, these aren't supposed to be on this list. Oh, but they aren't her hits. She is singing Gershwin's hits.... three hours of it... On it's own I'd give it a 5/5. But no, not for this list. 3/5
When I seen this was a Folk rock album from 1974, i was not excited… but this was much better than expected. I really liked it. Easily a 3.5/5

Supergroups like the Byrds get more attention based on the 'who' of who is in the band than the content. It's very listenable, but average. 3/5
