First hidden gem for me! Jazz punk! Such creative instrumentation
Really 4.5 but I round up. Love the bass and guitars. Can really hear all the music it later influenced. First album that I've bought vinyl for after listening (that I don't already own)
Important to hip hop but all over the place
Great shoegaze. Reminded me of cranberries straddling 80s and 90s alt. Notable songs: cherry-coloured funk, heaven or Las Vegas, pitch the baby.
Felt like a long musical soundtrack -- which I'm not really a huge fan of in abundance -- with weird (bad) genre side roads that seem to come out of nowhere. Lots of obvious classics but I have a hard time trying to figure out if I think these are great songs or if I have just heard them so many times that I've been conditioned to recognize the melodies and its tricking my brain into thinking I like them. Standout tracks: Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding, Bennie and the Jets (but maybe just because Q-Tip made me like it when he sampled it so well), Goodby Yellow Brick Road, Saturday Night's Alright (for Fighting)
Toe tapping good time. loved the big southern rock guitars. Great melodies and singing.
Want to give a 4.5 but eff it. They'll get a 5. A few all time face songs and the non-faves are still nice to listen to. No duds. Someone please kiss robert smith.
Sounds great on headphones. Really grew on my by second listen. maybe a 4.5 even.

Wonderful. Epic.
Really cool and interesting songs. Some bjork feels. And some catchy jams thrown in.
Streets Have No Name has some cool buildup and sounds. With or Without You is cheesy and overplayed but a well composed pop song. Exit was interesting. I really disliked almost every other aspect of this album. I do not get U2. When it's good, it's fine, but It's the elevator music of rock. It's trying to be something but it just all feels so generic and trying to have emotion but ultimately leaving me flat and it feels contrived. I have no idea how this band is so popular.
I feel like the songs have good sounds but it was oddly generic and had nothing that made them sound unique. I have to wonder if maybe they were originators of some sounds that later influenced artists I do know. I feel the need to research the history of this band more
I can't help but laugh when I hear his voice. He sounds like a drunk Disney cartoon side character singing to the protagonist during a traveling montage (Thanks Toy Story?) and it's really hard for me to get past and take him seriously no matter how good the lyrics might be. The music is rather cartoonish too (but interesting!) Definitely hear how he may have influenced someone like Rufus Wainwright. Last Night I Had a Dream and Burn On seemed like the best fit of his voice and music. Overall, pretty silly. I can see how he became known for Schoolhouse Rock and Pixar.
I want to like it a lot more than I do. Lots of good: I loved Immigrant Song. Some cool interesting music in Friends and Celebration Day. Good catchy riffs in Out on the Tiles. Gallows was weird but grew on me. Tangerine was nice. There are things I like in every song but for some reason the sum of the parts (the album) just doesn't come together for me. I've never liked bluesy LZ songs and still true (but I've never liked the blues). Would rather hear Joplin sing those types of songs. A full album of his voice was too exhausting -- especially during the slower folksy songs. I can't watch cartoons for more than 20 minutes due to the voices and this was like listening to a cartoon character sing to me. I like that people like them and I see the value but can't imagine wanting to put this on again.
I love Frank. I love Jobim. I love Bossa Nova. I love 60s orchestral arrangements. Have nostalgic attachment to this one.

Not my fave petty
Pretty good old country!
Love me some brit-pop. A bit on the harder side of brit-pop but not a bad thing.
I think I finally get him now! He's a punk!
It's of a time. I bet it sounded rad in 1994
he's got a great voice but wanted some more funk or drums in there. got bored quickly.
Some really good beats. Some really bad singing. Some mediocre rapping haaaaaaaaah.
I liked it but don't quite get why it's on the list
Love george's hits but not enough hits here
peak of the genre

Pretty fun and interesting. Big, epic sounds.
pretty cool at points. was ready for it to end though
bleh
Important to hip hop but all over the place
Probably 3.5 stars
interesting but nothing great or want to listen to again
Seems very ahead of its time (75!) and can hear later artists this album must have influenced
very bored
quaalude party
Some classics!
Pretty good as a whole album. Makes the overplayed "classic rock" songs better
quality + nostalgia = 5 stars
I like Jimmy Smith but this one was a bit too bluesy and boring. It was okay.
Gotta give full 5 star respect to the originators. Great musicians. Must have been wild to hear this the year it came out.
I kinda dig it!
cool album. never heard it before
Decent lyrical material but suffers from poor production and bad mixing
Maybe good songs but voice and harmonica kinda killed it for me
