1001 Albums Summary

There are so many interesting ideas in this album. I loved the parodies of the Beach Boys, and there were lots of memorable guitar licks and chord progressions. Some of the Beatles' most creative work.

This one didn't stick with me much on the first listen. I'll have to give it another listen later.

It was alright. Kind of punk-ish

This is a great album. I've never heard Leonard Cohen's earlier work before, just his later work. He's really a talented guitarist and had a nice voice in his early career And his lyrics are so rich.

Fantastic album. Great mixing - better than a lot of the albums coming out now.

This one's going on regular rotation. Great lyrics, interesting explorations of different genres on each track. Was surprised to see Stephane Grappelli make an appearance.

Love the energy. Crazy vocals and lyrics. The band members work well together.

The vocalist (Robert Smith) is quite moody with his delivery of the lyrics. Pounding drums create a very 80s sound. Lots of good effects and editing.

Instant fan. You can really hear the influence of Ella Fitzgerand in Sarah's vocals (which gets directly referenced in How High the Moon). The accompanying band is so smooth.

American Pie is still an amazing song. And Vincent. McLean really has a wonderful voice.

Classic.

Great vocals, harmonies, guitar solos, drumming, and beautifully mixed.

Bob Dylan is known for his masterfully crafted lyrics, but it feels like he's phoning it in on this one.

This isn't something I would put on regular rotation, but I enjoyed hearing Willie cover some classics. Makes for simple and comfortable listening.
