A few great timeless songs. However, overall not my style.
Such a unique artist but ultimately her voice starts to annoy me.
Interesting. Heard about this band a lot as a kid but never actually listen. Kind of remind me on Ministry minus the metal.
Great raw early 80s punk rock. I'd never given these guys a listen so glad it came up in the rotation. Also never realized that punk could be good for background work music.
Boring Lenny album
I just started listening to these guys about a month ago, but had not checked out this album. Overall pretty decent, however, Mezzanine is much better in my opinion.
Great album with a lot of classic LCD tunes
It's not bad, just to tame for me.
Good work music but didn't love it.
Never heard of this band but really enjoyed the album. It's easy to detect influences of Bowie, Radiohead, and several others without it feeling derivative.
Love prog rock but they took it a little too far.
ughhhh
Soothing background music
Wilco! Had a lot of friends whose favorite band was Wilco back in the day. I always appreciated their music but never enough for regular rotation in my mix.
I wasn't too familiar with The Smiths, as it was outside of the genres I listened to as a kid. However, this album is great and grew on me quickly. The song writing, particularly the lyrics, are incredible. There is a little bit of British pretentiousness that annoyed me a first but that quickly faded away. 4.5
so good
Love Bowie but this isn't my favorite album. Very creative and experimental for the time, but it lacks the magic of Bowie's voice.
When I hear ZZ Top all I think is 'old tired rock' due to all the rock radio I listened to as a kid. However, I will say, even though it is overplayed and tired these guys are/were pretty talented. Plus this music just makes me wish I was driving a fast car through some long desert roads.
Not my style but seems fine for what it is.
Amazing classic album
This was a hard one to digest for me. Creativity and uniqueness is a major attribute of bands I love, and these guys definitely have that. What I'm kind of meh about is the music outside of those creative elements. It feels canned, whiny, tame. I know nothing about the bands background but it seems to me this is what you get when you have semi-talented musicians, whose rich parents bought them all the toys to facilitate the musical creativity.
Not a huge crooner fan but Frank is probably one of the best. 3 stars for making it listenable.
Never heard of them before but it reminded me of some of the corny rap I listened to in the early 90s. 3 stars for nostalgia and being ok.
Good production, but didn't really capture me. I do like this style when it's more upbeat and in your face but this was more like gypsy elevator music.
I want to be cool enough to like ATCQ but it just doesn't really get me excited.
Beautiful voice and rich textured music. Enjoyed it a lot but I wouldn't seek it out on purpose, however, would listen if came up in a playlist.
Not my favorite Who album by far.
THE King of Pop, enough said. Four stars because it's pop and also probably not the best album.
Probably my 3rd or 4th favorite Radiohead album but still 5 stars for those with taste.
So many classic rock hits on one album. Too bad there are several filler songs that are super boring. Plus that rock radio has overplayed all of the good songs to absolute death.
Hated it.
Sympathy and Street fighting are such damn good songs. The rest of the album is good but a bit forgettable for the Stones.
Just a really great album.
Those opening notes to Gimme Shelter...
Stevie the hit machine. Unfortunately even though he's written multiple hits per album there is just a lot of filler too. 4 stars.
It's not great, it's not bad, but definitely stale.
I didn't make it far into the album but it's 60s pop music for a TV show so....
-
Kind of like Radiohead met Ed Sheeran... not sure what to do with this. Don't hate it though.
Meh
I found this album very boring and droning.
Pet shop boys of the 80s > 90s
Why this PE album? Not good. Bring the noize is pretty much the only good song.
Pretty great reggae
Poor man's Cure
Really great TH album. Possibly the best...
I found this album to be pretty boring.
I really enjoyed the a-side of this album. Never heard of this band before but kind of a great example why I wanted to do this album activity. Will definitely seek out some of this bands other hits.
Too tired to write a review.
Not my thing at all
Meh
I thought this would be better than it was. A lot of slow paced r&b vs funkiness.
Very 90s but forgettable
I was WAY into this band back in the early 2000s. Both this album and Science we so damn good. Unfortunately after they parted ways with their bass player their writing style changed to be pretty tame so I stopped listening.
Good stuff but missing Young! Deju vu is still the best album from these guys.
Never really understood these guys popularity in the 90s.
Meh
Not my style at all but she is just so damn talented. Great background work music too.
Great classic rock album.
A surprisingly bad Queen album. Why this and not their first, Sheer Heart Attack, or A Night at the Opera?
Very interesting
Great album with hits and some lesser known great tunes.
Stevie!
Where's my massage!?
Wu Tang still one of the best.
Not their best album but ok
Quite a performer
Interesting album that influenced a lot after it.
One of the great solo beatle albums.
Tired but good
Good tunes that bring back nostalgic memories
Not really my style but love the nostalgia and the stranger things reboot tie here.
Not sure why I just can't get all that into these guys.
Part of the greatness of the 80s
Ahead of it's time but not very good.
Meh. Plus hate the name.
Even though I'm not a major FL fan. This is such a great (near perfect) album. Unique song writing, vocals that soothe, tells a story, etc.
Cee-lo brings it
Perfection
Not the best met album
