Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Oct 27 2023

It sounds very nice when played on a good stereo! Brings back memories to when this CD was used to test my dad’s home made speakers. Can see my self playing this again late at night before bedtime as it is very mellow.

Who's Next by The Who
Oct 28 2023

Classic rock with a progressive twist - I like it!

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Oct 29 2023

Quite enjoyable, although very typical of the time. Can see myself giving this a few more spins.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Oct 30 2023

Nice production. I would not mind hearing some of these songs in isolation but I got very impatient halfway through the album - the songs are too similar to me. Everything’s not lost ends the album on a high note, so I guess it was worth listening through the whole album.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Oct 31 2023

Another album unsuitable for listening on the road. On better equipment it transforms into a pleasant listen, for those moments where you just need to chill. So I will award it a pleasant score.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Nov 01 2023

You outta know that that was the only song I was aware of having heard before. Out of the 12 songs, 5 were enjoyable (including that particular hit).

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Nov 02 2023

Not for me…

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Nov 03 2023

California Dreaming is among the greatest songs of all time. While no other song quite reaches that level there is enough to enjoy if you like vocal harmonies.

Dummy by Portishead
Nov 04 2023

Pleasant voice. Not much variation, but served fine as chill background music. Better than anticipated.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Nov 05 2023

Nice vibe. Had this running in the background while doing chores, and it made me forget how boring the chores were. Exceeded expectations!

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Nov 06 2023

Thought I might like this. Did not.

Queen II by Queen
Nov 07 2023

Ah, one of those albums from before they found the magical recipe. Nothing memorable, but I did like some of the songs. Torn between 2 big stars or 3 small stars.

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Nov 08 2023

The first couple of songs had me intrigued with the upbeat brass and percussion arrangements - but I found the entire album too much of the same thing. And that was even before the songs 13-17 that were bonus songs for the CD version…

Basket of Light by Pentangle
Nov 09 2023

Reasonably pleasant listen. Probably not gonna listen to it again.

Illmatic by Nas
Nov 11 2023

Not for me at all

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Nov 12 2023

A couple great songs. Rest is pretty meh.

Synchronicity by The Police
Nov 14 2023

This is surprisingly good! Especially the first half of the album is right up my alley.

Nov 15 2023

WTF??? It’ got a nice funky vibe and actual melodies. Especially the second half of this double album contributes to this album getting a score from me that I never thought I would bestow on a hip-hop album. Well done!

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Nov 18 2023
Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Nov 21 2023

America and Mrs. Robinson are epic bangers! The rest is not too shabby either, although a few tracks are pretty weird. A solid 3 and I should check out more of their work.

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison
Nov 22 2023

Not nearly as good as the other album on the 1001 list. Slightly disappointed.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Nov 26 2023

The first half of this album is all killers. The second half mostly fillers. 4 small stars because of the strengths of the first half.

Electric by The Cult
Nov 27 2023

First thought was it sounded rather generic. But it won me over, would have loved to hear this stuff live.

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Nov 28 2023

There is Sabotage, an absolute killer. Then there’s some nice funky/jazzy instrumentals, where did they come from? Then there’s a collection of mashups between sample based hiphop, the jazz/funk from the instrumentals and the noise rock of Sabotage - not all of them sitting right with me. 2 stars? 3 stars? 2 stars.

I Against I by Bad Brains
Nov 29 2023

Ok, but not something I Will listen to again.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Dec 01 2023
Revolver by Beatles
Dec 02 2023

This is the good stuff.
