Though the it is a classic rock album, I found the original version to be rough as far as the mixing and sound engineering goes. I listened to a remixed version of the album and enjoyed it. There are several classic tracks on the album.
I have been listening to Wish You Were Here for forty plus years. It is a great album! Just in the past few years I have learned that Roy Harper did the vocals for Have A Cigar.
A very psychedelic album by Cream! Some of the more popular songs I had heard. Even Clapton seemed to have been experimenting a little bit! Over all I enjoyed the album.
I found the album very psychedelic and unique. The band consisted of some very talented musicians, who didn’t play their instruments in a traditional rock and roll fashion.
One of my favorite rock albums of all time! I wore out a copy or two when I was younger. The guitar solo on Comfortably Numb is one of my favorites. David Gilmore is a fantastic player and has been one of my favorite players for a quite some time.
I enjoyed listening to the Talking Heads album. It has me interested in hearing more from the Talking Heads.
I really enjoyed listening to this album. I learned a lot about Otis Redding. For example, I didn’t know he wrote Respect.
I recognize the talent, but it is not my cup of tea.
A catchy fun album that grows on you! I’m glad it was on the list!
Another awesome album by Mr. Stevie Wonder! This opportunity to listen to 1001 albums, has really reminded me of how great an artist Mr. Wonder truly is.
Worth another listen
The album Rio reminds me of being a young man. A good friend introduced me to new wave in the early eighties. Rio by Duran Duran was one of those albums. It was a fun listen!
A classic rock and roll album.
I listened to the album twice yesterday and the second time was a charm. I was hooked! Elvis Costello is both unique and talented. He has a new fan!
I really enjoyed listening to this album. Ray Charles was truly a musical genius.
Great album! The Police were so creative and innovative! I enjoyed listening to the album when I was younger and still enjoy listening to it now.
The album Tapestry by Carole King reminded me of being a kid and listening to AM radio. Several of the songs were played on the radio, back in the day. I enjoyed listening to the album.
Off the Wall is such a great R&B album! Quincy Jones showed his genius and talent and Michael Jackson did the same.
I enjoyed listening to the album. A real classic Rock And Roll album. Great writing in the Band.
I love the music of early U2. I think the War album was a classic. Not only the big hits like Sunday Bloody Sunday, some of the less known ones such as Seconds as well.
I have a ton of respect for Neil Young as a songwriter and acoustic guitar player. I don’t care to listen to him play electric guitar.
As a young man I heard some of Gary Numan on the radio, but never listened to the album. I really enjoyed listening to the album and plan to listen to it again. The synthesizers are spacey and tasty.
Worth a second listening
An album packed with energy and memories. First album with Brian Johnson and he did well. I remember seeing the band when they toured for the Back in Black album. I couldn’t hear for days afterwards!
Despite not being a big Dolly Parton fan I listen to the album. I enjoyed Early Morning Breeze and the title track Coat of many colors. I can see why this is considered a classic Dolly Parton album.
This live album has so much energy! I think Cheap Trick takes it to another level when there playing live.
Jimi Hendrix was a creative genius and Electric Ladyland was his Magnum Opus. On the album he had tight concise songs like Crosstown Traffic and a cover of Bob Dylan’s All Along The Watchtower. Then he had songs like 1983 where he appeared like he was just letting his creative juices flow.
A great album showed the creativity in the band. So many musical instruments on the album, both acoustic and electric. Great writing and arrangements.
