Buena Vista Social Club
Buena Vista Social ClubWonderfully timeless. Some tracks hit it for me more than others.

The funk/disco fusion on Boogie On ... is killer. So much of this was new to me and I really liked it.
Kinda underwhelming. Don't feel like it's aged as well.
It's... so dense! The flow is good, but a little too much for regular listening.
I appreciate the history, but the old punk scene doesn't really do it for me. It's like, too much of a slow plod.
Some of the drumming and background seems almost Beach Boys-esque, and I hear lots of precursors/similarities to the Talking Heads. Also just like, weird electronic experimentation that's pretty fun.
It was ok, but not really my scene.
Dig it. Deez nuuuuuuuuuuuuts!
I agree with Dre, "Shady's basic". The flow is fine, but like, whether ironic or not he's just being an asshole.
Classic, hits me right in the college. I think I didn't appreciate Jack White until a little after this came out, but he really does a great service to modern rock and roll.
Had never even heard this name before. It's ok, but didn't really hook me on anything. Can see where they fit in to the overall Brit punk genre.
It's Elvis. Classic. Prob won't go into the everyday rotation, but it's great to hear.
Mr Loaf fucking kills. All cylinders, all the time.
Not a fan. The singles come off strong but the rest of the album really takes a dive.
I like the ambient background stuff. Better than some other Brit-punk ...
Classic. Not much new here, but always a pleasure.
Solid.
Interesting but... didn't pull me in.
Seems so deeply engrained in a lot of what I hear at this point, great listen.
Classic 90s, but it seemed a little stunted compared to their little bit later stuff. Feels like I remember it being a few bpm faster.
so Bowie.
Interesting listen... the tubas harken back to an older time, but the definitely still has a foot in rock and punk.
Definitely embedded in my brain as formative music memories.
Yup.
It's... surprising. Background orchestra is really moving. I didn't get super into it, but glad to have heard it.
Good stuff. Would listen again.
Pretty fun.
Like it. Some guitar riffs sounded like they might have been things Jack White pulled directly from.
Great banjo and really talented group of musicians.
It's interesting, and I appreciate the representation of some non-Western ideas, but... eh.
Classic. Don't think I'd realized how folksy some of the olds Stones is.
Some massive hits, but super disjointed as an album.
It's... not bad, but not good.
Classic
Kinda all over the place. Not keen on it.
Good stuff. Never listened to it much but it's solid.
Eh, it's not bad, but not too sticky for me.
Kinda amazing.
Classic.
New to me and interesting. Kinda all over but i dig their vibe.
Couple classics, but as an album pretty rough. Some of the technical work in the "other" songs is good and very much foundational prog, but it's uneven.
Good stuff. Super mellow.
Not bad, but... eh.
Pretty deeply ingrained, and seems to hold up. Even the back of the album still pays well.
Eh. It's ok.
Meh.
Kinda... mellow jam something something?
So classic.
Classic
Interesting... wouldn't listen all the time, but pretty cool blend of styles and def neat album to dig into.
Like it. A little Meatloaf in there maybe?
Good stuff. Prob not an all the time listen but really nice throwback.
Yea, cool stuff.
Incredibly talented musician.
funky!
Bummer it's not available, but what I heard was good.
Good stuff
Lovely, but not an everyday listen.
Solid Pixies, but I think I've liked some of their others better.
Little quieter than her later stuff but still good.
Fine, but I'm not a big fan.
Up and down a little as an album, but better than I'd expected.
Like it less than I thought I would.
Great stuff, a little slow for daily listening for me.
Fantastic recording and really amazing vocals.
Hadn't heard most of these songs before, but they're lovely.
Some classics and some better left unsung.
Not his best, but some stuff.
Ehhh.
Eh, ok, but like, not really rock and not really roll.
