Disraeli Gears
Creamdreck. sounds like a worse version of hermans hermits. Clapton was overrated from the get go.
dreck. sounds like a worse version of hermans hermits. Clapton was overrated from the get go.
All time great tracks and a couple cringey/corny ones as well.
good, innovative stuff that still sounds good in 2024, but quite long
With radiohead going weird and off the grid with kid a this was coldplays chance to take up the thoughtful modern rock mantle and they do a fine job of it. While I am no fan of the band this album works very well, particularly the front loaded first half, with In My Place being the best song they've made.
Stone cold, stoned, cold, classic.
Extremely frontloaded and some of the most overplayed songs of all time, but a solid album
Listened a million times as a kid, still sounds great today. what a voice.
Def not one of the top 1001 albums, who decided this should be on the list? not unlistenable, but very unremarkable.
great stuff. impossible to categorize, lots of fun
a few all timer killer tracks, way too much chaff
Really great listen, been years, forgot what a vibe this is. Sucker for anything with a melodica
Wow loved this one. Very happy to have discovered it here. So much to discover in this album, def needs many listens.
It's fine. I get it.
What is this this garbage how did this make any list of anything.
There's several better Dwight albums than this
Great great stuff. Almost impossible to overstate his influence on rock and pop music. Sad he's never gotten the credit he deserves
Feel silly for not listening to this before. No better album for a bad time.
had never heard of this album or group before. guess there's a reason for that.
almost 30 years later and every album still tries to sound like this
A pleasure to listen to. Gets bumped an entire star just for passin me by, one of the greatest hip hop songs ever written.
For 99% of other artists this would be their unquestioned masterpiece. For Bowie, it's just another album. Absolutely loaded with hits.
dreck. sounds like a worse version of hermans hermits. Clapton was overrated from the get go.
Fun album, though nothing really matches the singles I was already familiar with
One star each for baby one more time and you drive me crazy, the rest, not so much.
Joke band but one of their better albums
Breathe is good at least
Thought this would be an easy 5, I mean, the weight alone would make this a 3 star album, but honestly I prefer dylans original basement tapes versions better than these. Love him but there's too much danko falsetto on here. Not my favorite by the band but still a classic.
This was a nice surprise, I like her later work but hadn't heard this one.
A little rickety, very derivative, but still a hell of a debut album.
A concept album that only covers one side while the second side is random singles, kind of funny.
Lovely. Beck fella has talent
Massive, monster of an album, one of the best records of the 70s. one of those albums you could teach an entire course on. Even better on versions that include the non-album single Punky Reggae Party
Another gd prodigy album? Only listing 1001 albums ever made and TWO of them are prodigy albums? What a joke.
Hey something different! Enjoyed this a lot wish this list had more stuff like this
Really liked this! Especially side 2
Singles are bad and the album tracks too. Gets an extra star for victim of love, which is good.
I respect people's differing opinions on music but you shouldnt trust anyone who doesn't love this album with their whole soul.
Absolutely not. Hard, hard pass.
Morrissey makes pretty effortlessly easy to listen music but this felt like very little effort and some predictably atrocious lyrics
this was pretty good, very well made, catchy, nice mix of genres. didn't need to be so long though
Great great album, loses a point for having a weaker second half
Took me several attempts over this years but this time it just clicked for me! I get it now, great stuff.
Furs just never did anything for me, in one ear out the other, a xerox of better bands
good stuff! catchy
not for me, couldn't even finish.
Good album
great album! didn't hit me as hard as unknown pleasures and a bit too long but i totally get why this is such a big deal.
Probably not fair this came after disintegration on my list but still didn't do anything for me
It's fine I guess
Pretty cool how back then you could make an entire career out of playing dylan songs
Not a fan of the who but this is good stuff
good album, but gets a bit repetitive
This was really good for a genre I struggle with. Everything was clear and tight very fun.
Always nice to hear John's voice, a good chance to see what he's like untethered from McCartney's discipline.
Had to turn it off after 20 minutes of a very poor cover of who do you love.
