Bubble And Scrape
SebadohJunior school band meets angry teen angst. A nasty noise zero star offering.
Junior school band meets angry teen angst. A nasty noise zero star offering.
Big ego to describe yourself as sensational, sadly this album is far from that. Mediocre at best. Not much to enjoy.
Of its time, to many expletives and very derogatory towards women. Not a classic.
A couple of hits and some fillers. Next.
A British classic, melancholy vocals with classic guitar band rhythms.
Beautiful album. Stylish.
I am sure this is a classic to some but not for me.
Considering this is classed as one of the greatest albums of its era and beyond. I was guilty of never listening to it in its entirety. It’s dancehall / ska / punk sounds and harsh shouty vocals create amazing music that still sounds fresh. I agree with the masses, a classic.
Solid British blues, but to brash and lacking soul. Very repetitive also, not a classic to my ears.
Beautiful soul Melodies, amazing harmonies. Possibly an over looked classic.
I just don’t appreciate this genre so will leave it at that.
Not for me.
Not my thing, ever.
A life long Bowie fan but this album is not a favourite, verging on depressing the title is apt.
Not my thing, guitar played with a boxing glove on the right hand. Mediocre lyrics forced out in punkish rage.
An unknown artist for me, an interesting listen but not one I will revisit in the short term
Enjoyable and musically expressive.
One listen was enough, lacks musicality.
If starting every track with the drums in the left channel before smashing out a 2 chord strum whilst shouting is your thing. Enjoy. For me, could manage any track for more than 15 seconds. Next…..
Just a noise to my sensitive ears
Grim
This app should be called 1001 mediocre thrash albums Utter noise
Classic 80s pop and Green Gartside has a distinctive and pleasing vocal range. Of its time but still relevant.
Beautiful album of disco smoothness. Silky soulful vocals and harmonies. Absolutely timeless with classics that you hear at every party that will never age.
No filters, no effects, just raw talent and beautiful vocals. Mic’ed up like you are set in the front row, close your eyes and imagine you are there.
Entertaining for one listen, musically limited a band that realistically can only be enjoyed live.
4 tracks that take you on an Afro-jazz journey, beautiful percussion, immersive horn section. And finished with the live track that is the icing on the cake.
Some albums are just too short. I own this and it gets regularly played. What more of a recommendation does it need.
Francis oh Francis……..
I understand the skill and the talent, I just don’t personally appreciate it.
Marmite assume by the sales of this album. Sadly I’m not a fan. So score low through personal preference.
Found this album late in life after reading about Dennis Wilson. Proud to own it, think it’s better than anything the beach boys did. And yes that’s controversial
Country and western……. Just not my chaps and stetsons. Predictable line dancing fodder.
Pleasant but not that engaging
Ian Dury, A sad loss to the UK punk scene, a seminal album of the 70s which reflects the working class feeling and lyrics that capture the sentiment.
Not for me.
Watched a documentary about the making of the cover, if only the music was as interesting
Contemporary British artist, sweeping sounds, cutting lyrics, for the young hip youth but some beautiful music on this album. Flowers an absolute stand out. Will revisit
Whining vocals, mediocre melodies
What do I hear, Sparks, David Bowie, ELO, it’s 70s soft rock, it’s 80s pop, it’s a bit of everything and a very well packaged everything.
Melancholy ramblings for the hobo in your life.
Never heard before, no need to hear again
A seminal album for the jazz purist. But, I did tire of the single dimension and longed for additional instruments rather than just the piano improvisation.
A turning point in American hip hop, from the aggressive gang orientated sounds of the east vs west coast to what was coined the daisy age. Obviously regurgitated from every uneducated music magazine. Great samples, imaginative lyrics go listen.
Beach boys meets wings and an education on where some famous samples came from. Never heard the Beta Band before and found it easy on the ear but not earth shattering, maybe needs another listen.
Very Queen. Didn’t find it overly enjoyable, appreciate the Ballads struggle with the soft rock tracks.
Whining vocals, I am sure there is meaning in the lyrics but it really is just boring. Obviously this will offend many, I just don’t need it in my life, boring.
Classic depeche mode, not their best but travel away from the greatest hits and enjoy their back catalogue.
The PSB sound stands the test of time. I’m a sucker for the orchestral ballads, the swooping strings and Neil Tennants distinctive vocals.
Painful. Found zero happiness in any of the tracks.
Beautiful album, full of 70s pop and blues. Voice of a naughty angel. Immerse yourself
Completely unknown to me and a pleasant surprise. Real 60s flower power feel and thoroughly enjoyable
A mish mash of sound-a-like 60s nothingness. Completely forgettable.
Seminal album of a generation. Something everyone should own (if people still bought music)
Junior school band meets angry teen angst. A nasty noise zero star offering.
Big ego to describe yourself as sensational, sadly this album is far from that. Mediocre at best. Not much to enjoy.
The man is a legend, the album is not available to stream so I just listened to everything else in his catalogue. I heard The Bottle 42 years ago in a basement club called the honky Tonk, on a Sunday night. It took me 10 years to track it down and I thought I was onto someone special, and I still am.
Magnificent
Unbearable noise
Numbing to the senses
Defines mediocre
This maybe harsh but it would be some much more enjoyable without the vocals. Musically it’s immersive but the singing is hurtful to my ears.
A great album but having owned it from its first release it has become repetitive and not easy to settle into, every opening few bars awakes a memory but very quickly I am looking for the next track.
Obscure montage of styles from trad jazz to nu jazz to James Bond type productions. Engaging, confusing and challenging
Interesting album will get another listen
Not my thing
One of the greatest bands of all time but Dusk is the 5/5 album
Classic hip hop from when hip hop was great
Not the best album but it’s bowie
Nothing is more of a classic album.
Of its time
Not for me
