Music For The Jilted Generation
The ProdigyAn album to put on if I ever wanna do cocaine and speed down a highway š what an epic club / dance album! Cool band to learn about. Seems like a sister Oneohtrix Point Never.

Love this album. It is one of my favorites so funny it was my first 1001 album. Bethās voice is like a soothing witch with a DJ. This introduced me to so much music. Love Portishead!
Going in I already knew this wouldn't be my jam cause I'm not a big fan of hip hop. But I enjoyed listening to this as I found I have heard many songs from De La Soul in samples within other bands music (Lovage, and maybe Portishead) and can see how influential this album is stylistically.
Once again, hip hop is not my jam but I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The beats were fun. Wish I paid more attention to some of the lyrics but I find a lot of the dialogue super cheesy...
Surprised by some of the songs, such as The Trial which was a cinematic musical surprise! Still prefer Dark Side of the Moon. Interesting that this album was the one on the list instead.
Super fun album. Enjoyed it much more than I expected to!
I thought I was going to like this a bit more than I did. It felt like a folky version of Velvet Underground, and left some to be desired. Nothing really caught my eye. Or ear...
Maybe it was because I had really low expectations of Madonna, especially outside of the 80s, but I thought this album was filled with bangers! The first song alone stopped me and I found myself going back every 2 to 3 songs to heart them. It reminded of a Madonna-ized version of Kate Bush's The Red Shoes. An enjoyable pop with a slight twist to it.
Peaceful, sweet, slow (almost a bit dreary) and dreamy. I want to hear this on a melancholy night again to better appreciate it.
Not bad but nothing wowed me. At time it reminded me of Tears for Fears, but less playful.
It's just not my kinda jam.
Cozy album but nothing was memorable after the first listen. May need to go back and try again.
a chill psychedelic rock album, with a few folk surprises like choirs and soft string instruments and almost a Coming Back To Me vibe. Would listen to again.
A fun surprise! This album took some time to appreciate but I liked how unique it was and how diverse in music styles. It reminded me at times of Queen, and Blubby likened it to Mars Volta which was a good reference. Will be diving in more in this band!
A touchingly beautiful album. To start, I am now exactly 2 months away from my wedding where PaweÅ and Iās last dance will be to Moonlight in Vermont, in Vermont, so it is an emotional listen for me to say the least. But the rest of the album is equally beautiful.
Such an incredible insight into what an artist things, feels, desires, reflects on and shares when he know heās close to dying. That alone makes this album so extremely memorable, with Lazarus really digging in deep.
A fun album. Reminded me of Duran Duran with a sprinkle of Talking Heads. Enjoyable!
Cool to listen to an old recording, but damn, I could hardly stand to listen to itā¦ š«£
Meh. I'm clearly not a big fan of Fleetwood Mac. I was looking forward to learning about a different album by them, but was left with little to say about it.
I had no idea Fast Car wasnāt a current song! The album was relaxing and breezy, but had some powerful moments. I barely made it all the way through properly paying attention so I will listen to it again!
Fun creepy trentemĆøller vibes. Enjoyable but def a repetitive style.
Amazing album! So many great hits here and a few new ones for me. I had never heard this album all the way through. Even without considering how it mustāve been received back in ā69, this album delivers!
Fun āhair metalā or semi punk vibes. Not my jam but I wouldāve vibed hard to this in my teens!
A great, active and lively album to headbang to.
What an oddball album. Very interested. Subtle hints of playfulness comparable to Ariel Pink or Connan Mockasin, but with a traditional voice and sound. So odd!
An album to put on if I ever wanna do cocaine and speed down a highway š what an epic club / dance album! Cool band to learn about. Seems like a sister Oneohtrix Point Never.
Truthfully, every song by the Ramones sounds exactly the same, with different lyrics. Fun music, but repetitive as hell.
One of the few albums that I already knew and loved. I listened to Horses after reading Patti Smithās book Just Kids. Its no surprise that sheās an amazing writer. Her spoken work rock and roll music is unique, badass and truly worthy of her legendary status. Patti deserves all the praise. The fact that she is a genuine and good person is just a cherry on top of an already incredible career. š¤š½
What a refreshingly original sound! Reminded me of Divine Comedy and at times, Tom Yorkeās voice. The lyrics seem to require a lot more digging to fully appreciate the album. I appreciate this listen!
Had to listen twice to appreciate this one. First time I found it funky but a bit abrasive. Second time it started growing on me as much more unique. He has hints of Nick Cave, but used in a much more playful way.
Always heard of Rush and never listened to them. Sounded like a tame version of Iron Maiden or similar. Not my jam but cool.
Upbeat album, timestamped 90s vibe! Cute surprise with FranƧoise Hardy! Blubby loves this album so Iām slightly influenced.
I was familiar with this album and have played California Dreaming on repeat! But other than Got a Feelinā I canāt say I like the album, even as much as I enjoy the bandās style of music and harmonizing. It is really redundant and gets old rather quickly.
What a refreshingly original band. Was captivated already by the first song, and I was able to quickly recognize Cleo Sol was the singer since I recently heard her solo album. I thought this was a very cool listen! Reminded me a little of Zero 7 & Massive Attack. No one particular song stood out but the album overall was great!
Cozy album. Reminded me of a tamer version of Joan Jett stylistically, with a voice closer to B-52s.
It may be due to timing, but I found this album rather melancholy and sad. His voice is so comforting it hides just how longing his lyrics can be sometimes. Sinatra is def unique and wonderful, with nostalgia baked right in.
Fun album! Would listen again. Reminded me a bit of Flaming Lips!
Hilarious to remember this reference from Mean Girls. It was honestly a refreshingly beautiful album! Such a unique sound, original, peaceful, warm. Loved it
Enjoyed this (completely?) instrumental album! Not what I expected. Fun, active, a little edgy but never abrasive.
Voice like Nina Simone at time. Like being in a Fifth Element scene, or in a nightclub DJād by Tricky. Tribal / African sound similar to Dead Can Dance. How refreshingly original!!!
What an odd pick! Some cool bollywood vibes but it is all over the place. Hard to categorize. Maybe Iāll just watch the movie to fill in the holes.
No. *Only acceptable drunk, at an english pub.
Need a second listen to give it a thorough review. But I enjoyed it, it reminded me of Duran Duran.
Looks like I had categorized Arcade Fire as a whole other band forever ago. I was extremely surprised to hear them, and really enjoyed him voice and certain lyrics I was able to catch. Will be giving Arcade Fire more listens now!
Some fun songs and some ruined by being overplayed by the radio.
What a fun listen! Never heard of a band like this before. Jammed out hard.
