Imagine by John Lennon

Loved this album when I first listened to it. Must admit I wasn’t too keen on this on repeat listen, a lot of filler, combined with some of the best post-Beatles songs, takes this album from an average to a good album. “How do you sleep” is still the most underrated song of Lennon’s back catalogue. A respectable 7/10.

Is This It by The Strokes
Jul 12 2024

One of, if not the best, indie album ever. Inspired all my favourite bands and soundtracked my teenage years. Love this album more than some distant family members. Forever grateful to you, Julian Casablancas xx

Listening to this on the day of Trump’s attempted assassination hit different

Homework by Daft Punk
Jul 17 2024

Please reform for the rest of my salad days, mr and mr punk

Violator by Depeche Mode
Jul 20 2024

Loved the haunting synth atmosphere to this whole album. Superb.

Dookie by Green Day
Jul 21 2024

Will die on the hill that “Pop-Punk” is the worst genre of music to exist. Wretched, cringe-worthy, yank trash. Saying all that, I have a soft spot for Green Day and have enjoyed their music from afar, without every being really invested in the band. This is the first Green Day album I’ve ever listened to and unsurprisingly, I enjoyed it. It’s fine, nowt special, just fine. 7/10

Yeezus by Kanye West
Jul 22 2024

If marmite was an album. Kanye’s second best. 9/10

Jul 23 2024

Thank you 1001 for reminding me to listen to this classic again. Imagine dropping this fucker and then never putting out any music ever again. Queen shit right there 👑 9/10

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jul 27 2024

Objectively a good piece of music but I really could not be any less interested in a Jazz album from 1958.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jul 30 2024

Better than I expected. Loved some of the riffs. Specifically Le Grange and Waitin’ for the Bus

Revolver by Beatles
Jul 31 2024

If there was a “1 album to listen before you die” book, this would be the first and last entry. 10/10 🐐/🐐

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Aug 01 2024

Set the blueprint for the Pixies’ iconic sound. Very much the precursor for the masterpiece that is Doolittle. Bossonova > Surfer Rosa, thoooo

Guero by Beck
Aug 03 2024
Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Aug 04 2024

Nonsensical, weird as fuck and proper German. Zer gut.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Aug 06 2024

AC/DC man, a band that’s aged like milk on a radiator.

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Aug 07 2024

Starts well but wears thin by the end. *Maybe need a repeat listen*. 5/10.

Scissor Sisters by Scissor Sisters
Aug 08 2024

Lots of big, fun, gay party hits. 7/10

Permission to Land by The Darkness
Aug 09 2024

We’re all in agreement that this is a bit shite, right? *subconsciously banged my head to a few tracks which saves this from being a 1/5.* 3/10

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Aug 10 2024

Quite a substantial step down from THE Rolling Stones albums. Meant as no criticism due to the quality of their later bodies of work. Still a formative piece of music for one of the greatest to ever do it.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Aug 13 2024
Pelican West by Haircut 100
Aug 14 2024

Dross but not unlistenable

Bubble And Scrape by Sebadoh
Aug 15 2024

This is why I do this. What a gem of an album.

Low by David Bowie
Aug 17 2024
Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Aug 20 2024
Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
Aug 22 2024

A dense, layered, multi genre album. It feels disingenuous to give this any kind of rating after one listen. Probably would take 4/5 listens to really appreciate the complexity of this album.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Aug 24 2024

It’s a jazz album. Hence the rating.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Aug 27 2024

What the fuck is going on with the diarrhea sounds on the last track

Among The Living by Anthrax
Aug 29 2024

6/10 Enjoyed this fairly formulaic and one note album a lot more than expected

1977 by Ash
Sep 04 2024

Starts off with the sound of a TIE Fighter, which is perhaps a fitting metaphor for this album: starts off fast, strong and sounds cool. Finishes off by crashing and burning in a big fucking mess.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Sep 06 2024

A lot more restrained than their name would have you suggest 3.5/5

Boston by Boston
Sep 07 2024

Shite but ‘More than feeling’ is a rasper

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Sep 08 2024
Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Sep 09 2024

Certainly best saved for last. The last song is brilliant. Wish I loved the rest of the album as much.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Sep 11 2024
You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Sep 12 2024

Appreciated this more than I enjoyed it. Will probably benefit from repeat listening.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Sep 17 2024

One of the horniest albums of all time. If you listen close enough, you can hear her ovulating (sorry)

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Sep 18 2024

A fantastically creative album from one of the best talents around

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Sep 20 2024

I got half way through the second song. Sorry, I find this music unlistenable.

Raw Like Sushi by Neneh Cherry
Sep 23 2024

A fun yet dated record. The ‘record scratch’ effect, synonymous with 80s Hip Hop, will forever make me feel unwell.

Eagles by Eagles
Sep 28 2024

Inoffensive, middle-of-the-road, dad rock. Just meh. 5/10
