It's cold and dark, but there's a glitter of warmth within the fog. It's a barren metal wasteland, but there's a kindness in the fallow. This destruction was wrought by human hands.
Kid A is an experimental, artsy, dark rock album that I found very enjoyable. It almost leans into slowcore or ambient styles during some tracks. Idioteque's end-times drone and Treefingers' subtle beauty are clear standouts to me. All the instrumental tracks are incredibly strong.
I've been kind of fearing getting into rock music, since I don't really like screamo rock or rock-and-roll very much, but I'm enjoying the art rock and soft rock albums I've heard so far. This album was a somewhat acceptable soft rock album.
Starting with the negatives, my least favorite song was probably Crippled Inside, a little too country-leaning for me. I prefer my country songs artsy and not honkey-tonk. The blues-ier songs like It's So Hard were also not my favorite. Plus, I wasn't a huge fan of Lennon's voice throughout the whole album.
However, there are some really pretty arrangements in the album. Imagine is a nice listen, and Oh My Love is both a beautiful instrumental and uses Lennon's voice for good. I think he'd be really good as a folk singer. Unfortunately, his voice brings down several other songs I would have otherwise liked, such as How?
The album kicks off on its highest point with Imagine, and then it's only down from there. I kept on waiting for it to get better, but it never did. If someone asked me how I liked it, I'd probably say that its "alright."
I don't like thrash metal.
This was horrific. Genuinely hated every single song. Sympathy for the devil is one of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life. It was so bad it gave me chills and I had to rush to my "Angelic Mix" on Spotify to cleanse my ears.
-I dislike live albums
-Jazz is not my favorite
-Entirely instrumental albums bore me
-This album is too too too long
rachel chinouriri is better
Wow. This is incredible. I love ambient music like Ethel Cain, and this is a totally different style from her but still keeps all the elements I love. The detailed, immersive soundscapes in this album are incredible. The album title is perfect - every song sounds like it's from the future. This is exactly what I wanted from this project, hidden gems in albums I never would have given a thought before.
My only complaint is that Bel Air does get a little repetitive. For a 20-minute song, the production isn't quite interesting enough to justify it's length. I could use some more development in the song.
While the first half is standard boring rock, the second half is really interesting. There are some beautiful ambient songs.
First track is fantastic. Every other song is boring to bad.
Not horrible, just boring as hell
what the hell. this can't be real
Some really good ideas here - Live Forever is a standout. This cannot beat the fact that I hate rock men's voices.
good ideas in here. bad vocals.
I don't like live albums. I like some of the orchestral stuff but the metal sucks like normal.
It's just a Christmas album. nothing special.
Standard boring to bad rock
More boring live music. This is actually kind of atrocious though.
Maybe it's all the terrible albums I've heard so far on this, but this was actually stunning. Mature, well written, well composed songs. It's not 5 stars because the production is a liiiiitle too simple and the vocals aren't quiiiiite interesting enough but I was very surprised overall.
Nope. I'm mad now. Good ideas squandered on bad songs.
At least the production is interesting.
Now this is very interesting. I'm a big fan of these ideas, just not the way they were executed.
Not a fan of rock in general.
I don't love the main guy's voice. I do like this artsier rock though.
Less bad than the previous Metallica albums. Still bad.
Don't like glam rock. I'm starting to become a rock hater because I have not loved any of the rock albums yet.
Interesting. I don't love rap, and some production choices I disliked, but overall enjoyable.
I don't really like male rappers
Punk is one of my least favorite genres. I hate the singer's voice and the melody choices.
Hey, this is great! Normally, I'm a lot more strict with my 5-stars or 10/10 ratings but judging from the contents of this list so far I'm going to have precious few good albums.
nice and cruisy, but boring
live album (bad) of ok music
feels very similar to everything else like it
This made me sick with rage. I hate harmonicas
Boring rock with some funky beats or whatever thrown in the mix
Some of this old rock music has great ideas, but they somehow always manage to fuck it up
Yeah, this is really good
I feel like I'm going crazy
Some of these are alright. Some even pretty good. I'm just a hater of the way people sing in 1900's rock. Never going back again best song
I like some of the production. Why the hell is this two hours
booooooring. I swear I've heard every single one of these songs before
"mmm, this one has a little sweetness to it!" - Keke Palmer
I don't like Nazis, so I didn't listen to this album beyond the Spotify-given clips. It sounded fine, I guess.
Soooo long. And not even that good fr.
would be very nice if the stupid rock didn't ruin it
Lowkey I can see myself liking this. I don't though
It's a little funky. I could rock with it. Barely.
I'm actually good, thanks
Ethel Cain outdid. There's not really any relation between her and this guy, I just wanted to mention.
There's traces of something I could almost like
Iconic. Not, however, good.
What the fuck is going ON
GRAH. OOG BOOG. EERGY WEERGY. GROBBLE.
Sorry queen Janis. did not love.
The immigrant song gave me ptsd flashbacks.
