This album is one of those with surprising modern hip-ness. The tiny desk would go off. The intricate instrumentals have both groove and intrigue. The atmosphere is mysterious yet joyful. It is the first I can recall of listening to Nick Drake, which I suspect some will be jealous of. This one is getting saved to the playlist.
An incredible classic. Solidified his sound which has been explored relentlessly. Bill’s playing and aesthetic sensibilities inspires projects beyond just music.
80s pop sound with the bass arpeggiator. More of a modern 1975 weeknd vibe though. I believe this album came around the same time as those other artists becoming popular. I like the 80s vibe. Not exactly what I was looking for from this website though. Probably not the whole album needs to be heard.
Quite good. More of a daytime album despite the title track. While I feel this hindered my appreciation it still had an interesting mix, impressive arrangements, and decent variety of sound. I found the album inspiring with the use of swing time, waltz rhythms, horn section, and creative transitions.
Best album so far. Wide range of style but remaining very consistent. Vocals are amazing, mixed and tracked so crispy. The songs range from intimate to epic. Gonna keep this one in the rotation for sure.
Great musicianship, great songs, basically an hour of Guitar soloing and a couple of words. Just the guitar players to pull it off.
Great album. I knew the title track before but I hadn’t sat down to listen to this album. Needs more listens but a great introduction to Pink Floyd (if necessary).
Needs another listen but it seems incredible as I fell asleep.
Great album which deserves a listen. Their sound is bluesy and grungy sounding. There’s a subtle dryness to the production which emphasizes the playing.
Awesome performance, love the theatrical influence. The drama and character is whimsical and exciting. While not consistently captivating, I think a who fan would enjoy the album throughout.
Interesting but I didn’t love it. Don’t think I finished it. Good for finding some inspiration
One of my all time favorites. Beautiful haunting melodies and harmonies, exotic yet comforting.
amazing album, tons of variety and great musicians. The vocals are awesome and the vision is intriguing.
Good stuff but it has a dad rock tinge
Great album, great sound. Widely imitated but no one can do it like them. Sadly the imitators dilute the effect but when you consider the context of the era. Groundbreaking music and coolness factor off the charts.
Historically important and decent music. Well produced
One of my favorite albums. My first Kendrick album which sent me on a journey.
This album was very enjoyable. I would probably listen again. Good music for studying, the French makes it easy to ignore.
Awesome music. Really interesting beats both acoustic/band and more loop/electronic sounds. Great rapping as well. This is an album I’d recommend checking out.
Iconic sound of an era. Only to be imitated today.
Something is off with this album. Bob needs the lo-fi aesthetic to blend better with his vocal abilities. That way it’s easier to focus on the intent of the song. This album had a high fidelity sound which did not compliment his voice. Couldn’t be taken seriously and would need multiple listens to break through this listening barrier.
gotta be one of the greatest singers ever. Great trio arrangements and good tunes.
This is an artist that really keys in on my preferred style. Mostly acoustic instruments but with cinematic editing and effects. Soft vocals, lo-fi aesthetic. It reminds me of bands like Granddaddy and Sparklehorse. Vaguely similar to some of my favorite artists like Spencer Radcliffe and Alex G.
In addition to the bangers, I loved all the songs I hadn’t heard before. Lots of hard work and genius in this group. Love the unique flow style, especially the frenetic energy.
Nice music and riffs, great drummer. Smoke on the water isn’t just a riff???
This really is not terrible music, but there’s no way to truly enjoy this and treated objectively. It’s not as good as the Beatles.
Not bad but after the monkees it was hard to get excited
I like the eagles and these songs have helped myself and other musicians around the world make a living and bring joy to the masses. We are all the eagles
The harmonies here were very inspiring. This is some very old music
Terrific music. I had been putting off mccartney’s solo albums bust it comes at a great time now. It’s like hearing a new Beatles album but more rustic and more personal.
Good indie music, all the stuff I like. Looper pedals creating moody instrumentals, bangers from my childhood, storybook Brit rock, etc. while song 2 kinda sucks it’s also pretty good and the band has a good sound.
This album had good musicians and a good sound. Nicely mixed as well. It made me consider the rich history of country/folk music and how many people must have contributed to its refinement.
Quite a good album and it has the style I enjoy
I do think they defined their sound and crafted this album brilliantly
Classic and we are forever grateful of the lynard
Interesting and well produced femme punk
Slackery remix jams. Like sugar ray but good
Maybe 5 stars but needs another listen. Certainly an artist who has the skills and inspiration to match. I’m not sure how deep the artistry goes on just one listen.
Makes me wonder why the Beatles got so famous… awesome music. Similar to beach boys but kind of on another level and the vocalists are all very in sync. I think this may have some irony to it given the band’s story.
Great work on this album, did not expect to like it, but it’s super low-key and laid-back
This album was very good. It had kind of a more modern Neil Young sound. I’m more familiar with his older songs, but this was great.
I feel a little weird, listening to this alone, incredible musicianship in chemistry, however. They really managed to create a work ofart.
I’m not sure what I would rate this without imagine, but it’s really nice to hear some John Lennon for the first time.
