Popular Reviews

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band

Lyrically suspect, drugs would have helped. Sounded sufficiently different to get to 2 stars.

The Cars by The Cars
Aug 29 2025

Some familiar bangers, but otherwise…

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Aug 30 2025

Better than the previous album. Sounded more varied and the bonus of the more familiar tracks

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Aug 31 2025

Thankfully redeemed by Time Bandits. Just saying.

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Sep 02 2025

More interesting than the other albums so far....gospel choirs, mandolins everything and only one vaguely familiar song. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Sep 03 2025

Thought I'd enjoy it more, American folk inspired, woody and Leadbelly, but sadly not so much.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Sep 04 2025

I remember jolly depeche mode. Not sure what happened, height of the start of EDM and you get EM no D unless I’m missing something.

Melodrama by Lorde
Sep 07 2025

happy to listen again.

Skylarking by XTC
Sep 08 2025

Didn’t really engage me, no hooks, no singles, I think I went to sleep.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Sep 09 2025

Not overwhelming. I can see the attraction, would need to listen again.

Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by The Residents
Sep 11 2025

To be honest, if you got to the end of the album, you deserve 5 ⭐️. I came close and award myself ⭐️⭐️. Which is what the album gets.

Shadowland by k.d. lang
Sep 12 2025

I thought the country bits were ok, the other bits not so much. It all had a very 50s feel.

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
Sep 14 2025

I listened to it 3 times, not my genre, but not offensive.

Sep 15 2025

Probably listened to this 2 or 3 times as I inadvertently put it on repeat. Not against it, seamlessly followed one after the other. Went to sleep…

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Sep 16 2025

Um Spellbound er that’s it…

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Sep 17 2025

Spotify seems incapable of playing an entire album. I must heard Whole Lotta...multiple times, the rest of the album is a mystery. What I did hear reminded me of the Stones album from earlier. I can understand why drugs played a key part in this era's culture.

Achtung Baby by U2
Sep 21 2025

In spite of Bono, still a fan. Not their best, but not far off. Forgot how good it was tbh.

A Wizard, A True Star by Todd Rundgren
Sep 22 2025

One track was enough, the rest of the album didn’t make it any better

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Sep 23 2025

Will listen again.

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Sep 24 2025

If you asked I would say this is what I thought a country album sounds like. Which isn’t true, but it sounds like it should be. This is one of things I like about country- its variety. That’s all I have.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Sep 26 2025

Thought I’d enjoy it more, still several bangers. Have it in cd somewhere, so must have made an impression in the past.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Sep 27 2025

Big voice, good tunes, more like this…

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Sep 28 2025

Lyrically suspect, drugs would have helped. Sounded sufficiently different to get to 2 stars.

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Sep 29 2025

They tsole a lot and didn't credit it I would imagine. But enjoyed it.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Sep 30 2025

Yep, listened, probably don’t have time to go back. Liked what I heard…

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Oct 01 2025

Close harmonies, who needs Graceland?

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Oct 03 2025

I think this was highly rated at the time of release, I liked it.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Oct 05 2025

Rockin' good times

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Oct 07 2025

What it says in the tin…

Dummy by Portishead
Oct 10 2025

Forgot how good it was.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Oct 14 2025

I thought it was ok, very Dylan. I have other things to listen to now…

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Oct 15 2025

Not moved one way or the other tbh. Probably genre defining but didn’t care much.

Arular by M.I.A.
Oct 16 2025

Truly excreable? Apologies for spelling. I imagine some coked up record executive thought this was a good idea.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Oct 17 2025

Unmoved.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Oct 21 2025

I listened to it, I wasn’t against it, I remember little of it now.

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Oct 22 2025

No dub, sold a pup…would need to pay me to listen to this again.

Group Sex by Circle Jerks
Oct 30 2025

Very dead kennedys, but sadly not them

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Nov 04 2025
Elephant by The White Stripes
Nov 08 2025

Saved by...not against it

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Nov 13 2025

Contemporary of kraftwerk, mostly ignored probably because he was French. Before EDM was a thing. Liked then, like it now.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Nov 14 2025

some standards there...fun.

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
Nov 16 2025

Not my genre, but listened to it while flossing. Enjoyed the flossing more.

So by Peter Gabriel
Dec 01 2025

Forgot how good most of the tracks were...
