1001 Albums Summary

Well produced. Great vocals. A couple standout songs, but mostly samey.

Very chill. Pleasant in the background. Doesn't grab attention exactly. I can see people enjoying this more.

I wonder how many people are here because of this album. Iconic opening. Feels like a 3 overall, but first track is so iconic, it has to bump it up a little.

Amazing bass playing. This is definitely going into my regular rotation.

Didn't really do anything for me.

Castles Made of Sand is a 6/5 song.

Longtime favorite. Some really great songs on here. A touch emo, a touch punk, a touch garage band.

Oh boy more generic sounding blues and inferior covers. Well they did it, they broke me with blues.

The one songnis good. Maybe would be ok background music to set a vibe. Not one I'm going to feel a need to revisit.

Some real bangers. Feels like half dream and half scarry trip.

First half 4⭐️. Second half, 2⭐️.

Might have been more impressive at the time. Now sounds like someone got too repetitive with garage band loops. Too precussive to be good focus music, and any vocals tend to disrupt my attention.

Think I would rate this higher if I didn't understand English to hear how cringe some of these lyrics are. Music sounds great, harmonies impressive. Cathy's Clown maybe doesn't deserve to be burried as the last track. But my first feeling on seeing this album in the future will be cringe.

Banger after banger. Made my day when this came up as the day's album.

Lazy, chord strummy songs. Hard pressed to tell each song apart.

Sounds like trying to make industrial music on a keychain keyboard.

Pleasant instrumentation. Might prefer without the vocals. Otherwise would be a good focus or chill background album.

Alternating mumbled lyrics and harmonica that hits your ear like an ice pick. Imagine if Aimee Mann was a beatnik who couldn't sing so good and you're almost there.

In a way I don't think they made the album to be liked.

Sledgehammer is a masterpiece.

Short for the man who wants everyone to see how mopey they are.

Went down smooth. Glad for the listen.
